Hi

Well, I figured it was time I put something up on my profile...

My name is Jane I live and work in the UK just outside London, in Essex. I'm a 45 year old mum to two beautiful teenage daughters. I work term times as a Learning Support Assistant at an adult college, supporting 16 - 19 year old mechanics with both literacy and numeracy - which I have done for the last five years, (I'm getting pretty good at fixing my car by now as a bonus). It is a job which I love dearly. We have an insane border collie called Gypsy and two rabbits and three guinea pigs.

Before becoming a mum, I spent fourteen years in the British Womens Royal Naval Service as a communicator (Radio Operator), where I met and married my soon to be ex-husband. I loved every moment of my naval career and it gave me the opportunity to try many wonderful and exciting activities (rifle shooting, abseiling, adventure camps, canoeing, orienteering, survival courses, first aid and expedititon leadership to name but a few).

I have been writing Supernatural fiction for about nine months, but have been reading, betaing and reviewing for about a year and a half. I moderate on The Vaults Forum (SPNV) and am an Admin on the Everything Supernatural Forum, where I can be found under my other pename IMPALADREAMS.  I have many stories in the pipeline but time constraints, as ever, get in the way. They will all, hopefully, get finished eventually.

Writing is something I have always wanted to do, but until I discovered the world of Supernatural and fanfiction I have never had the confidence to go ahead and just do it. However, it has become a very important part of my life and I have made some wonderful friends through it - you know who you are guys!!  This wonderful Winchester World that we play in is one of my favourite forms of escapism, and both reading and writing in it has helped me through some really rough times over the last year or so.

I meet up about 4/5 times a year with a small group of similarly obsessed Supernatural fans at the Hilton Paddington.  We get together for laptop screensaver idolisation, general lusting over the boys (Dean in particular), quizzes/competitions and total Supernatural Saturation.  It's great fun and if anyone is living in the UK or visiting at the time of our meets (dates posted up on the Vaults) we would love to see you there.  It's small, friendly and great fun.

I am totally devoted to Supernatural (even when the story arc is getting so dark) and I love both the boys, but am definately a Dean girl. I love reading and writing hurt, angsty Dean and caring, sharing Sam.

I co-wrote The Twelve Saves of Christmas - which was posted on here by birdie. We are currently working on the follow on story (a much darker fic) entitled, To My Brother I Am Bound.   I have recently joined the E/O drabble challenge over on Fanfiction and am discovering a whole new way of writing.

So that's about it for starters. Thanks for reading. Jane

Summary:

Take one overbooked hotel, one very frustrated ghost, and a series of incredibly unfortunate events; set it amidst the seasonal splendour of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and throw in two exceedingly unlucky Winchester boys.  The result = The 12 Saves of Christmas.

Thank you to Cal for the purdy banner.

Join us for a chapter a day over the 12 days of Christmas as we follow our favourite boys as they survive another typical Winchester Christmas.

Thank you Mr Kripke for the best present ever, Sam and Dean Winchester! And to our own Christmas Elf, Kirsty for the superb beta.

For the wonderful friends we have made through UnGen. You know who you are.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.

Summary:

Limp Sam, looked after by his caring big brother Dean, in an alphabetrocity One-shot!

This was conceived after the elation of a viewing of Ten Inch Hero (at long last) on the tube back from Richmond/Kingston.  The film was awesome!  A big Thank you to Cassie for arranging it.

In searching for story prompts we (Birdie, Janger and Alena) decided to pick an unrelated word for each letter of the alphabet, then decided to create a story from these words.  This is the result.

Originally they were put forward as individual drabble prompts but we decided to turn them into one big slightly insane story.  We left in the wake of our proposed plotlines a carriage full of totally bemused commuters and a taxi driver who was reaching for the emergency restraints!

A huge thank you once again to Bulletbabe for the beautiful banner.

Nothing belongs to us - it all belongs to Kripke and Mackay - so really it's their fault!

We apologise sincerely for the silliness that ensues…  The words chosen are typed in bold.

Summary:

These drabbles were conceived on a surreal London Underground journey following a very enjoyable viewing of the movie, Ten Inch Hero. Birdie, Alena and I were suggesting random words for drabbles and Dribble/Drool was our first suggestion.

The later words became our shared story 'The Alphabet Incident'.

Thanks to Lou for the purdy banner and to Kripke for allowing us to play with the boys.

Please go take a look at their drabbles too.
