Date: 08/01/08 Title: Chapter 1: A Glimpse of the Future
If I haven’t said it before (but I think I did) this story was fantastic. That demon was awesome, but the brother story was even better. The epilogue was a nice way to round it off. Can’t wait for your next offering. “but in all fairness….felt more like eavesdropping. Dean had been broken, the vulnerability forced rather than given.” You have an excellent way of turning a phrase. “as they talked, they recognized themselves in each other, sameness of self and yet…not.” Yet again, this line spoke to me. You worried about your “scene”, but it was tastefully done, and I could see Dean. It definitely added to the story, IMHO. Author's Response: Oh, thank you! That's so nice of you to say. I’ve just read all six chapters in one go.I don't know how I let it get away. Well kinda... was hanging onto Awake in The Dark which I totally love. Just a little one for correction- he actually felt better, not great, but defiantly improved. "Dean had his tells..." Nice work. Loved the way you handled that turn of phrase. Cannot wait for the next installment. Don't worry, I am not going anywhere. Does that mean we get a little hurt Dean thrown in? Summary: 3.02 TKAA tag. Brothers need to talk about the important events in their lives... like when Dean thinks he might be a dad with an eight-year old son, maybe Sam would like to know about it.
The pain in his gut deepened as Sam faced more of Dean's sacrifice and self-denial. Once again Dean wanted for Sam what he refused to acknowledge he deserved for himself. Sam didn't know what to say to ease Dean's pain so he offered his brother the only truth he knew.
