The story describes the culmination of the last 8 months during which Sam has sucumbed to the darkness within him and become the leader of the dominions of evil. He and Dean now face their final bitter and bloody confrontation.  Thank you Lou for my beautiful banner. In the aftermath of Sam's possession, both boys are walking wounded. Sam is consumed with guilt over what he did while possessed, and yet can't remember most of what happened and Dean's not telling. Meanwhile Dean tries to hide his bullet wound, not wanting Sam to know. They both try to recover from their ordeals on their own, until Dean suddenly falls violently ill.
