OMG that was AMAZING. I'm weak. I'm not kidding. If I could have crawled inside my computer to read this I would have. And the WHOLE TIME Caleb was recounting the story I was like... there's something else... there's something else... it's not that easy... and then the coda with the bullet switcheroo! Oh, so, so great. So great. Take a bow, woman. From a one-shot to an epic with lots of blood and angst and a fantastic twist at the end. I am in awe.

 PS -- Way to promo the VS in your a/n. You're my hero. :)

Okay because I'm apparently NOT technically savvy, I can't seem to copy/paste into the reviews, BUT! I just have to say that Sam's whole speach about who Dean is... the good, the bad, and the ugly (as if)... was wonderful. And I still absolutely love that you had Dean pose that question at the end with Sam not answering. Kinda how Crossroad Blues ended... only, y'know, reversed.

Hooray! It's here. My favorite Terry story... I sometimes go read random chapters just for a fix once in awhile. And now I have TWO places to go. Thanks for putting this one up... I swear I was like two seconds from asking you to do so....

Author's Response: You're such a sweetie. I still have to get the other chapters posted. I can only do this so many times in a row and then I go kinda nuts. I put it off cause it has so many chapters.

You know how much I love this story... I mean, seriously, gushing... My favorite aspect being the "mine meld" type connection between the brothers. I just wanted to say how glad I was to see it here and I look forward to the 2nd read as you post.

Oh, this whole thing was good, but your last line was the best. I like how it just punched out there with this raw burst of pain you could tell came directly from Dean.

Okay, so as disturbing as that last visual was... I agree that if something happens to one of these brothers, the other would seriously not survive. I loved the line that Sam had never wanted a ghost to haunt him until Dean left him alone. I actually had to turn my music up after that. It was too quiet in my house...

Iris -- My good friend had been simply gushing about this story a few weeks back. :) "Ahhhh.... FiremanDean!" So I made a note to myself that I would come back to it when I was done writing and before I started writing. You know what I mean.

Anyway, I am completely in love with your VS stories, and I knew I would love this as well. I think you might have been fooling yourself a bit when you said you didn't have a plot and didn't know where this was going to go. Subconsciously, this story had you gripped and you were obviously compelled to tell it.

You did a fabulous job. Your plot wove fabulously well with the actual story arc and the characters were themselves even in the alternate universe!

I loved most how the boys talked to each other at the table, shooting questions just to get to know each other. But everything was great -- Sam's love and affection for Jessica -- CHOOSING Jessica to be the YED's vehicle! Ingenious, my friend. I mean, who else would compell Sam to those drastic measures.

I thought the John-in-the-mirror scene was tragically spooky. I mean, I know he is their father, but looking at that experience through their never-before-seen-supernatural-events eyes, it would have been spooky. :)

Thanks so much for sharing your talent, for your humor, and for a damn fun read.

Okay. You got me. I'm hooked. And I totally dig that you have Dean watching westerns. That's our boy. :)

His big-brother, Shining first aid approach just melted my heart. Sigh.

I love that. I love that, at that time, Sam thinks that about Dean. That he'd have done anything to save him.
