And Dean, the every protective big brother, not really sure what to do or how to do it. Waiting anxiously for the funeral and Sam's pending breakdown! Denise Author's Response: Hey, Denise! Yes, your boy is just gutted, and struggling to keep that Winchester stiff upper lip in place. But it's not working - cracks are starting to appear. And poor Dean, out of his depth with that level of grief - well, out of his depth as an adult, anyway. He's seen this sort of devastation before, but he was only a little boy at the time, and he had a baby to care for. Author's Response: Hey, Denise! Thanks for that. The idea for stinky Dean actually came about earlier in the year when I was cleaning out my fish pond in the back yard. By the time I finished, I reeked, and my mind just wandered while I was scrubbing madly in the shower trying to get the smell of stagnant water off my skin. So when Fredo spoke to me about her request, it was a perfect match to work it into the story. ....Jules Summary:
Dean silently wished he could feel so blissed out, that he could forget his time in Hell and actually enjoy Christmas with Sammy. He wanted to bury his thoughts and take a real break, suddenly wanting to make this holiday special for his brother just like Sam had done for him last year. Each it seems hadn’t felt like celebrating at the time, but for their brother they were willing to bury their own hurts and make it happen. He could do this… for Sammy. Minor S4 spoilers.

I loved the Sammy and Gracie reference, amazing how older brothers give names to their little brothers or sisters. I know since I am a little sis myself, with my own special nickname!! Loved it.
