Date: 05/03/12 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Insane Shows Us All liked it? Loooooovvvved it! Dean and Sam arguing is so natural. Back to the days when not everything between them was life or death, betrayal and deception. It's nice to revisit the good old days. I can picture the scene in my head of Asher going crazy and Dean holding her down, talking her through it. How beautiful! Lucky Asher! He could hold me down and whisper in my ear any time! He's so protective of her and yet so caring. You said that Sam tried salt and holy water and other tests and all failed. What does that leave? She isn't really crazy, is she? I'm beginning to like Asher. Don't kill her off. I know the Winchesters are notorious for getting their lovers killed but not Dean. he really needs someone to love him and show him that he's someone special. Author's Response: I agree. It's nice to get back to a time before the Apocalypse and everyone they love dying. Yeah, I think I could live with him holding me down, too. i might just have to play crazy even after I'm well again. Although if I were healthy... ;-D I'd show you a glimpse of the future but it might burn your eyes out of your head. :-) Thanks for the review. Reviews are the a la mode on my pie!!

There has to be a supernatural reason for her craziness. And where is the wedding? Author's Response: Geez, give me minute. We can't put the cart before the horse. They haven't even met yet (so to speak). I agree Dean's melt-down makes for some good angsty reading. BJxmas writes good angst. You should read her stuff. And thank you so much for the review! I was beginning to think that my chapters were floating around in cyberspace. Purgatory is a story with no reviews. Thanks Dorhinky! (BTW, we sometimes call my mom Dorhinky but she spells her name ene instead of een.)

Date: 12/06/12 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4: This Horrible Ache Too short. I want more! All the poems you post at the beginning are cool! If Asher and Dean are already married are they going to travel back in time or is Asher stuck in her mind at that time? Author's Response: I love the poems! They're so articulate. It's sad that they come from such tortured souls. All will be revealed.

Date: 19/07/12 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Reaching Out OMG! This is fabulous! Absolutely fabulous! I love everything about it: Dean's little melt-down (who doesn't love it when he gets all maudlin- you just want to comfort him), Asher's POV and all the craziness going on in her head, and especially knowing how into each other they are- kind of a fairy tale love with a humorous Winchester twist. I felt like I was inside Asher's head and that was a freaky scary place to be. Then when she touched Dean's hand I got goosebumps. I nearly cheered out loud. Can't wait for more! This is by far your best!
Author's Response: Wow. I don't know what to say except I'm flattered and speechless. I'm glad everything worked for you and really glad that your trip through Asher's melon had the affect I'd hoped it would. I'm also delighted you liked the ending so much. I wanted to give everyone a little cliff-hanger. And Asher's motto is that love conquers all.

Date: 19/07/12 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Blue Angel and the Black Rose So that's how Dean and Asher met. No wonder Dean got so mad at that girl in Asylum. She was setting herself up for attack not only in the haunted building but in her relationship. And Dean's said over and over that he hates cemeteries. This gives us another reason to add to the list. Kind of a strange way to meet his wife but I guess he wouldn't have met her at a church social or a school mixer. Not sure I like the poem at the beginning. It just doesn't jive with me. But I love the end-all those gooey warm fuzzies about Dean knowing he was home when he saw Asher and judging himself through her eyes was so sweet. That's a much better mirror than the one that he usually sees himself in. And now he's doing it for her, being her safe haven. It's so romantic!! *sigh* And the end: He'd rescued her once. He'd do it again. Perfect- just the right amount of mushiness. And that's okay because Dean and Asher are shut away from everyone else so he can be fairly mushy and let his heart show.
Author's Response: The poem isn't like the others. I was iffy about it myself but I wrote this in a somewhat gushy mood. Hee! Can you see Dean at a church social? Hilarious! I always knew I wanted Dean to meet Asher in a cemetery but didn't want to make her a mourner so that didn't leave much else. There's some beautiful statuary in cemeteries. Dean really does wear his heart on his sleeve. I always remember Route 666 and what a sweetie he was to Cassie. I've tried to tailor his relationship with Asher on that brief amazing glimpse of a Winchester in love.

It was nice to see how Sam felt (confessions: SamGirl here!) so I'm perfectly happy with Dean being married and Sam being loved like a little brother. Bobby changes everything. He's so down-to-earth and he has that dry sense of humor that states the obvious in funny ways. Gotta love Bobby! I think he's the most notable supporting character in TV history. Jim Beaver is awesome! Now we know things are going to start rolling. Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Sometimes you just have to put in those bridging chapter and you hope they aren't too boring. Yep, Jim Beaver should definitely get an Oscar for his portrayal of Bobby Singer.

Date: 23/03/13 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Echoing Whispers ooooh! creepy cool! I love the first person POV and that we're not sure whether its Asher or one of the voices controlling her. Love the Rip Van Winkle reference. Such a Dean-thing to think--- I mean the way he'd express it. Love the sentence: And if they'd never be right... then he'd never wake up.

Date: 23/03/13 Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Lost Tooooooo short! Great poem! I liked the introspection and Dean wondering what it'd be like to be a dad. I like that he's doubting himself and taking full responsibility for Asher's condition. That's exactly what he'd do. I noticed that you end a lot of your chapters with great lines. Keep up the good work!

Date: 23/03/13 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Dean and the Lion's Den So totally cute! I LOVE the flashbacks. We get to see how their relationship began and how it changed both of them. Asher was such a sweetie. Dean deserves someone like her, someone who isn't hard and jaded to restore his belief in goodness and humanity. I can't wait for more flashbacks. They're cool little vignettes within the story that tell its own story. But don't forget the present day story.

Date: 21/04/13 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Risk It For the Biscuit That was SO SWEET! I love that Asher didn't freak out when Dean mentioned werewolves and such. She tried to understand him which is sort of what Lisa did. And it's cool that she went after him unlike Cassie. And I like that you didn't tell us he was crying when he left but you made it seem like it was raining. Such a Dean thing to do. My favorite line (isn't it everyone's?) from Aliens 2.

Date: 21/04/13 Title: Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Hide and Seek Cool that Asher didn't just tell Dean she'd be the perfect mother to his kids. I like that she actually thought about it and admitted she didn't know how she'd react but it was worth finding out just to be part of his life. Gotta love that girl for loving that guy!! Although, I'd be happy to take over if she gets tired of him.

Date: 21/04/13 Title: Find the Razor, Trace the Vein The beginning sort of confused me at first but I figured out you were telling the story from a different perspective. Poor Bobby. We get a peek at how he felt at the time the hell hounds took Dean's soul.

Date: 21/04/13 Title: Find the Razor, Trace the Vein I'm glad you let us know how Asher felt, how she found out about Dean going to hell. It seems like the worst memories are what shuts out the other voices. Man, it's going to take one heck of a bad memory to snap her out of this.

I'm glad you focused on Bobby and his happiness for Dean. The locket he gives Asher- so touching. And the conversation between Dean and his friends was so cute. I think it's interesting that Dean's nervous about the honeymoon because Asher's a virgin and he's an old worn out shop rag. It made me consider that might be how he'd feel.

Date: 29/04/13 Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22: What Doesn't Kill You... A heart-felt scene between Bobby and Asher. So sad. I like that he recognizes how Asher's absence will affect all of them and not just Dean. I like that Bobby warns Asher that Dean losing her would make him kill himself. Funny that Asher's possessed by the essences of women who've committed suicide and Bobby is telling her that's what Dean will do. I also like seeing Sam and Bobby's grief through Asher's eyes and how she's taking Dean's death. Very interesting that Asher never felt their connection snap. I think that's better than if she had. Imagine the fun guilt you can play with...

Date: 29/04/13 Title: Chapter 23: Chapter 23: A Lonely Wooden Cross and a Pinewood Box Wow! Sam's account of preparing Dean's body was moving. It's exactly how I pictured it in my head. I'm sure it was a very respectful and reverent time. A time that he could pay homage to his hero brother. When Sam gets mad at Asher and tells her he's never leaving Dean- that was great! |
