![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 14/05/07 Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Loved this story from start to finish. Dean's running commentary throughout was wonderful. The new Sam was a great character who stood on his own. Loved the story he told the doctor in this chapter - nice comic relief and such a great jab at Dean. Would love a followup on what happened to old Sam :) Jenny Summary:
banner by Neolani618 Sam has a mysterious teacher who considers hunting a type of homework. A revelation may cause one brother to lose the other in order to keep him. The brothers learn exactly how much they mean to one another, how deeply their bond runs and what one will do for the other. All things supernatural don't have to be evil. Dean and Sam get a look at the 'bigger picture.'

You just laid it all out for me to understand. Now I have to wait for I'm sure more than one chapter to see both brothers go through major major angst. You have pushed them both to the edge. Yikes! I'll be looking everyday to see if another chapter is posted just so I can see what happens. So not nice -- great job by the way. Jenny Author's Response: Jenny, Thank so much! I sent you an email a while back, did you get it? Thanks for reading. Laura

Even when the brothers aren't talking to each other they are worried about each other, nice touch. Enjoyed seeing Sam go ballistic in the kitchen and Dean sappy drunk. Jenny Thanks Jenny so much. Glad you liked it. Yes, poor Concha, I think she had other plans for the day...lol Laura

Also laughed at the way Dean tries to make peace with Sam with the pie. Typical Dean to ignore the issue as long as possible. Great job at all the insights Dean has into Sam and why he didn't tell him. Jenny
Author's Response: Thanks again Jenny, glad you enjoyed it. Dean's not actually avoiding, he was just caught off guard by Sam's statement.

He finally realizes how bad Dean felt when he disappeared. Also loved all the guilt Dean is feeling. Curious how much he now understands will be shared with Sam. :) Jenny Thanks. That little bit about how Dean must have felt when Sam vanished never really being dealt with has always bugged me, so I just did it myself....lol Laura

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 26/05/07 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Wow, loved the way you developed all the threads of the overall story in the bogeyman section so far. There is the learning curve and what Craven is teaching them about themselves and fear. The growth of the relationship between Dean and Sam and their need for each other. And the awesome work just in expressing the new evil they are facing in the bogeyman. You have taken a "simple" childhood fear and made it truly scary. Sam's fear was palpable. When Sam was wrapped it the black it really felt like it was raping his soul without your ever saying it in so many words. WOnderful writing --Jenny Ohhh....you don't know how great you made me feel! Made my day...thank you so much. I'm glad you like it, and what I was trying to get across got there....lol

Even at his deepest angst he was still Dean: funny, sarcastic and so human. Loved the text messaging part -- you said so much with so little. Of course stealing the ambulance was priceless too and smart. Summary: The imagination of a 14 year old girl can be a dangerous thing

This chapter gives the idea she may know what she's doing. Very scary. Loved the final sentence where she dissolved into blank pieces of paper. Summary:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 26/04/07 Title: Chapter 18: Charlie I just read the first 18 chapters and didn't want to stop to review. I just had to keep reading. I am sooo enjoying this story. Love the way you move back and forth between the two stories and keep them connected -- great job! It's bad enough to have a cliff hanger at the end of a chapter, but now I have two -- naughty, naughty! My favorite part of the story is the way you have developed Dean's childlike innocence while still keeping Dean Dean.
Author's Response: Thank you! I never really thought about the two cliff hangers thing... he he, that is kind of naughty ain't it...? Dean just has so many different layers (as does Sam) and I just enjoying playing with him, even though I have to give him back when I'm finished - thats the sad part, giving either of them back. Anyway - Thank you!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 29/04/07 Title: Chapter 21: Aftermath Great ending. Loved the way you brought in Sam's shooting at the monster from the closet and Bobby's knowing that Dean would feel guilty. Sam's words were right on to try to make Dean know that he had done his best and faced some pretty scary internal "demons". Thank you! The encounter in 1992 was gonna be a whole 'nother part of the story but I decided it just didn't fit anywhere but I had to mention it briefly. I hate internal 'demons' and I think both brothers have more than most can cope with, but they got each other to lend a helping hand. Anyway - Thank you again! And I'm glad you liked it! Summary: It was a cold and snowy night when Kerri Harrison first met Dean Winchester. An exploration into the power of a friendship.

Nothing like a kindred spirit to bring out the best of Kerri and of course in time Dean. Like the idea of Dean as a mountain to be scaled.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 14/05/07 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Can't believe how powerful it was to have six year old Dean talk about his fear of angels taking his brother while he is asleep. Also his fear of the dark was palpable. Kerri was so good with him, because she knows the loss of a mother. God, the story of Sammy opening the car door and John's reaction was heartbreaking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 16/04/07 Title: Chapter 1: The Whipping Dance Loved the list of all the things Dean knows about Sam. It is such a great contrast to what he doesn't know. Dean has no point of reference to understand Sam's faith, because it is something he can't believe in. Maybe Sam can believe in Dean and still need to know that there is something bigger out there, or else why bother to save anyone? Author's Response: That is such a good point, about Dean having no point of reference to understand Sam's faith...as Dean's faith was shattered so completely when Mary died. Interesting...I shall have a think about that! Thanks so much for reading. Summary:
Sequel to Weston House. Dean wakes up in the hospital to find that the life he’s known has all just been a dream. ...or has it? Note: You don’t have to read WH to understand this one, but I will pull thoughts and ideas from that story. You might want to read it first. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 29/04/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Memories I loved this story so much that I am going back and reading it again so I can tell you what I loved chapter by chapter. That is a first for me :). You did such a wonderful job at showing how Dean's pain goes so much farther back than his Dad's death and introducing the watch in such a powerful way -- great job! Author's Response: Thank you. I am so touched by your review. Time is our most precious commodity, so to think you would spend time reading my story again means so much! I am glad the childhood scenes worked so well. I love writing Wee! chester stories cause I do think the secret to Dean is in his childhood. Swan and I are always saying that part of Dean is still that child trapped in his tragic past. Whenever he gets emotional and cries you can see the scared little boy who never got over that trauma. So heartbreaking!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 29/04/07 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Discovery This chapter was so powerful it was almost overwhelming. I loved the image of Dean as a geode. And your use of his forcing the pain down into an empty nothing. Also the description of all is pain as a mountain of rocks and boulders. Just wanted you to know that you couldn't have done better as expressing all that pain from his entire life. I am very happy with how this chapter turned out. I do think the geode metaphor fits Dean perfectly and I am just glad that I could explain it sufficiently that most everyone agreed. That is very gratifying. Swan again helped me expand on that idea with the contined references to rocks and volcanos, etc. Not having any writing training, I originally didn't use the comparison as much. She loved it so and said I needed to use it more. She was absolutely right and thank goodness she was there to help.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 29/04/07 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 - Destiny Wow! Using the image of an earthquake to express all that pain until his geode split in two was perfect. I loved that you sent John to free him to feel all his pain, his anger and loss. It was perfect and you dealt with all the mistakes John had made by having him explain and give Dean love and hope. Definitely did a fabulous job at expressing what you started out to do -- a real catharsis. Author's Response: Again, thank you. This was the tough chapter. I wrote the first two and kept procrastinating on this one, cause it was just so daunting. Without Swan's gentle urging, I might still be hesitating. Once I committed to writing it, it was heartbreaking to write and I know it was painful to read. I truly worried that readers wouldn't understand or "forgive" Dean for actually crying and venting all his pent-up emotions. So many like the stoic, tough Dean, but the man is human which is what I love about him. To survive what he has been thru makes him the strongest man I've ever seen. And of course, John had to come back and talk with Dean. Dean deserved that and there were so many issues unresolved. And the whole point was to make Dean stronger. To let him be that whole man and to give him the love and hope he deserves. I love that you "got" all the points I was trying to make. Thank you again, B.J.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 29/04/07 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Brothers United BJ, the work you put into this story called to me to respond by rereading it all and commenting on each chapter. You did such a great job and I loved the way you brought Sam into it in this chapter. Your use of legacy in the watch, but more importantly in their fight against evil passed on by their Dad was perfect. You verbalized a vision that has always drawn me to their story. I look forward to reading your future stories. Jenny Jenny, your reviews on this story made me feel soooo good! I love that I was able to touch you with my story. These Winchesters, particularly Dean, touch me and inspire me to write these stories. As you stated, their story is so inspiring, and beautifully and heartbreakingly presented to us every week. Fanfics allow us the opportunity to delve deeper into their hearts and background and try to figure them out. I love that! I indulged myself with the John and Dean moments in the third chapter and I loved that I could then have the Sam and Dean moments in this chapter. Sam also needed Dad back and I was happy to have him experience the meeting between his brother and Dad so he too could find peace. I also loved letting him understand his brother better by feeling his pain. Sometime in the future I plan on expanding on this story with a sequel. I know the brothers still have issues to talk about and I hope to also bring Bobby in to see his reaction to the new, open Dean. For now I am taking a break cause this story drained me, and I am so looking forward to the final three episodes this season. Again, thank you so much for reading and taking the time to express your thoughts. Writers live for reviews and knowing that our stories have meaning. Thank you and take care, B.J. Summary:
