I guess I'll update this since I'm no longer engaged but am now a wife, which is still something I am trying to get used to. I enjoy spending time with my husband when I'm not working, playing cards, watching a movie, or reading together. We are also busy training our two new puppies, both of them our Christmas presents to each other. My older dog Jack loves having a little brother and sister to play with. But Mike's Shih Tzu Pattie and my little Yorkie Priestly both keep us very tied down.

Interests: Reading (when I have the time), writing (when I have the time), spending time with my husband and dogs, watching as much Supernatural as I can, cooking, and cross stitching (when I have the time).

Favorites: Supernatural is my favorite TV show of all time easily. It is the only thing I even bother watching anymore. Ten Inch Hero is my favorite movie - it is so funny I highly recommend it.

Man, the boys were really put through their paces in this story. I loved it. It was so heart breaking to see the way that Dean continued to push himself until he was sure that Sam would be safe, not resting until his body physically shut down on him and gave him no choice.

The fact that Dean is so devoted to his brother is sweet, and sad at the same time. Especially since Dean could have easily died out in the woods when Abe went to take Sam on ahead to the clinic, but he held his own. Those two are fighters, no matter how injured they are they won't stop fighting.

And the epilogue was amazing, I love how John actually showed up, just short of missing his boys so he could check on them. About time he did. But it was good to see him talk to Abe and find out how things had gone for his boys. Although if Dean hadn't made it I'm sure he would have been kicking himself.

I loved all the flashbacks you put in there as well, those were enjoyable. Great story, I loved it.

Author's Response:

Hey! Thanks so much for reading and taking time to review. It's so appreciated. :) I'm glad you enjoyed this story and the interaction between the brothers. :)

Sorry it took me so long to reply -- I think the notices were delayed as I only just saw this. I'm currently writing a story called In the Light that brings Abe back to the brothers. If you choose to read, I hope you enjoy that as well.

Great story, it was very well done. It was sad to see Brenna go through some of the things Dean was feeling at the time...with loosing her Da and everything. But you played out her emotions very well and made the whole thing very believable.

Those Winchester brothers sure are stubborn though, always insisting on doing things on their own. That is when they get hurt the worst. Dean certainly got kicked around in this story. The wraith taking part of him in that fire in the church was scary. Especially when he decided to give up, good thing Sam was stubborn and made Brenna go with him to get Dean. Otherwise Dean would not have made it out of there.

And thank goodness that there are good people who help our boys out. With the cops hot on their trail they need to stay off the hospital and off the radar. I'm glad that Dean was able to help Brenna out in some small way, and that she came back to say good bye. Otherwise it would have left things just a bit unfinished between the two of them. Looking forward to seeing her coming back though, I've really enjoyed her character.

Author's Response:

Thank you for this -- I'm relieved that you found it believable. I knew when I created Brenna several stories ago that doing so was a risk, but I really liked exploring her character and what she could mean to Dean.

I really appreciate you taking time to leave such detailed feedback. It's encouraging. :) Hope to see you again!

Best,

Gaelic

Really enjoyed this story it was a fun ride to take with the boys. The fallen angel thing really caught me off guard, I thought for sure it would be a demon. Just goes to show that sometimes even the good guys fall. I loved how Dean said Sam was his faith as well, and Sam knowing that he was the one who had pulled Dean back from the brink. Great story, I'll have to go back and read it again.

Author's Response:

Hi!

Thanks so much for reading and taking time to review. We're so pleased you enjoyed this. And you're right, we wanted to show that even angels fall -- but all can be redeemed if you have faith.

Plus, we just love writing these boys. :)

I just found this story and I've really enjoyed it so far. I love a Dean angst story...so that is what drew me in in the first place but I'm so glad that I did check it out. It has been really enjoyable. Poor Dean being bitten was bad enough but poisoned by the stupid thing...so now he is feverish and hallucinating. Sam is struggling with this whole Ben thing and the flood is growing rapidly worse. If it was Dean thinking that there was a flood I would have thought it was another hallucination but it was Sam...so crap. This can't be good. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Great story so far I've really enjoyed it. Man, poor guys. They've really been put through it so far. What with Dean's still healing bullet wound and Sam trying to deal with being possessed and having random memories pop up. It has to be hard for both of them. It makes it hard for Dean because Sam really wants him to forgive him for shooting him, but Dean won't because he knows it wasn't really his brother. It leads to a very strained situation.

Then there is Sal and his stooges, sneaking into the hideaway and getting the drop on Dean, then Sam when he comes back. Things get out control and it almost costs both Dean and Sal their lives. All for a few measly dollars? Can't believe the scum bag just left Dean out in the water after Dean risked his life to save the big jerk. Good thing Lobo was there to save the day, I really like him. He even tried to help warm the brothers.

And finally when it looks like they will be able to get Dean some much needed help back at the bar that ikiryoh shows up and makes a mess of things...that thing is really creepy by the way...you did a great job describing it. And now it is possessing Sam? Man talk about action packed. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Hey! Thanks so much for reading and taking time to send me a review! I really appreciate it. Forgiveness is a hard think to come by sometimes -- it's been my experience that you can actually think you've forgiven someone, said that it's okay, and still harbor deep pain that you didn't realize was there. It's one point I'm going to try to explore with the remaining chapters.

Sal... yeah, he's got something coming to him. Lobo will also be back.

Glad you thought the ikiryoh was creepy. I mixed a bunch of images from nightmares of my own to create it. Write what you know, yeah? :)

Hope you continue to enjoy!

Great chapter! I'm glad that Sal finally got what was coming to him. Way to go Lobo! I love that wolf dog. He always seems to know when Dean needs him and is always right there. Good thing he was otherwise Dean could have gotten really smashed up by the time Abe got back.

Poor Sam is really going through his own personal Hell right now isn't he? That thing is forcing him to experience all his worst memories all over again...Jess burning on the ceiling and shooting Dean...etc. It really is doing a number on him, don't know how long he will be able to take it. But at least Dean was able to get through to him on some level and convinced him to fight this thing. So he is trying hard not to give in to this which is good.

Dean stays with Sam as long as he can but eventually his body was bound to give out on him. Can't say I'm that surprised...not with everything he's been through over the past couple days. Especially with that wound over his belly opening again. Wonder if Doc will come and help out again? Or if Maggie has a better idea? Looking forward to finding out.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your review. There's a reason Lobo is right there when Dean needs him. I hope you like the reveal of that...

And Doc will help, perhaps not personally, but he will help. Maggie's idea... well, it's not going to be easy, that's all I can say. Hope you like the next parts!

Great chapter again. I really enjoyed it. I was glad to see Sal get what was coming to him and at the same time Sam was able to rid himself of that thing. Now their biggest problem at hand seems to be destroying that thing. Hopefully they will be able to, now that it has escaped Sal. Evil little thing isn't it?

Then there is poor Dean but at least Abe was able to get some medication for him. And since Sam was able to rid himself of that thing he was there to help Dean out. Although Dean is going to die when he finds out that Sam stripped him to his boxers to put him in the shower. At least the fever is going down though, pretty scary how sick he has gotten because of this injury. You said things are going to get worse for him before they get better? Hmm...well I'll be looking forward to it!

Author's Response:

Not only has the poor boy been stripped to his boxers, but his boxers were taken from him by Bobby to help cool him down. *smirks*

I've seen untreated wounds turn deadly in very little time without aid, so I wanted to try to throw that one last obstacle in their path before allowing things to improve... they have one more chapter of struggle before the story can end.

But one thing I try to do is end on a peaceful--if not completely positive--note.

I hope you'll stick with me -- thanks so much for reading!

Great story - I enjoyed it from start to finish and the last two chapters were superb. Will we see Abe come back sometime - or Lobo? I'm going to miss that dog, it isn't often that Dean really connects with anyone or anything, but he and Lobo really hit it off in this story. I'm glad that Abe agreed to take him with him though, that way Dean knows that Lobo is being well taken care of.

I loved the last part where Sam drove the impala up to the house and Dean flipped when he saw what a mess she was in. Of course Sam quickly steadied Dean by telling him that he was going to wash her. Good thing he said that right away or he would have found a boot up his ass, Dean was certainly ready to kick something when he saw her. He isn't really in any shape to do much of anything though, not while he is still recovering from his injuries. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Author's Response:

I hope very much to bring both Abe and Lobo back into the Winchester world when the time is right. They aren't in the three stories I have outlined, but as long as people are interested in reading, I'll be interested in writing so there's always a possibility for more...

Hee -- boot up his ass. Too true. I'm glad you liked that part. I had it pictured since about the middle of the story -- knew that was exactly how I wanted to end it. With a moment of peace.

Thanks so much for reading and for letting me know that you enjoyed. It means the world to me.

He remembered holding a much smaller version of it when he was younger, feeling a warm glow in his heart as the short, pudgy fingers clung to his like a lifeline. I don't know if I ever got around to this story when you e-mailed it to me. I've had so much on my mind lately, so I thought I'd leave a review here just in case.

This is a wonderful story, Jules. So much brotherly love and affection that we haven't seen a whole lot of in the past couple of seasons. I've really come to miss that. Sure there are parts here and there but its nothing like it was in the first couple of seasons. But once again you've worked your magic and I've fallen in love with another one of your stories.

I especially loved the end story where Dean was fighting off the infection and Sam was there anchoring him while Dean had been grasping Sam's hand while he was in the grip of the fever, but Sam had held on just as tight. It goes to show that while they haven't gotten along all that well they will always be there for each other. Being family will always keep them tight. Great story and a wonderful ending thank you.

Author's Response:

Hi, Candace! *hugs*

How is married life treating you? Hope it's everything you hoped for.

Thank you, hun. Oh, I know what you mean - the brotherly moments have gotten a wee bit hard to spot of late. But they are there, so it gives me a bit of hope to hang onto that someday, they might be okay. And they do still love each other - deep down, as you say, they'll always be family.

So great to hear from you, and thank you for your lovely review.

Wonderful story, Jules. I think I did read this one a while ago and just haven't had the time to review. But I was very shocked when Dean put that buzzer on Sam's chest after finding out what it did to that guy. What would have happened if it had really hurt Sam?

I think this story is a wonderful "what if" story. The consequences of Dean's actions should have haunted his mind because there was a good chance that it might not have been as harmless as Dean had intended it to be.

I also loved the part where Dean told Sam that he was never and would never be expendable because it's obvious to see in the way Dean throws himself in front of his brother to protect him that in Dean's eye Sam is more important than his own life. It's sad that Sam might see otherwise, but I think on some level he sees eye to eye with his brother on this. For both of them neither are expendable. If one is gone the other is lost and if you destroy one you destroy them both. Their bond is so tight there's no way it can be broken. Bent at points, but never fully severed. I loved it though, Jules, wonderful job!

Author's Response:

Hi, Candace,

Yep, me too. I couldn't believe Dean had done that - every time I see that scene, I just shake my head in denial and think, what would he have done if it had gone horribly wrong? What the flip was he thinking?

So my mind of course just kept strolling along that 'what if' track, and eventually came up with this.

And you're right, as angry and betrayed as Dean feels, he still loves his brother, and I think if push came to shove, he'd still fight to protect Sam.

Thanks so much, hun.

Loved this story, Jules. It is so fitting that home for Sam is wherever Dean is. It suits them perfectly as they don't really have a real home besides the impala and the occasional stay at Bobby's. So for Sam to always be searching out that one constant that he's always considered vital in his life, that one slice of himself that he'll never be able to nor want to get rid of is the part that contains his brother and that's where he's safest.

I'll catch up on your other stories hopefully later this week. But I look forward to them.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Candace.

And it is, exactly. Home for Sam means Dean. Even when he's got a bee in his bonnet about something, he still returns to Dean as the one constant in his topsy-turvy life.

And no, I don't think he would ever want to get rid of that slice of himself - he loves his big brother too much, and we saw just how devastated he was by Dean's loss. Those screams will haunt me for a long time....

Thanks hun, so glad you enjoyed it.

Heart wrenching story, Jules, but very well done - as always. That episode was heart wrenching before there at the end...but now...I can't even describe it.

I love that you did a little drabble to this story, it was so interesting. Especially since last time Dean didn't let Sam out of the safe room so he wasn't there when Sam was done drying up - although that never technically happened as Sam got a hold of Ruby and got another fix. Then after he opened the cage God helped Sam to dry up. So there wasn't an aftermath but I love your take on this one. To see how hard it was for Dean to see Sam in that state...that alone was heartbreaking.

But Sam's disappointment and disgust with himself when he finally came around, that was just as heart breaking. The fact that he didn't want to look at Dean, or didn't want Dean to look at him made me want to cry. It wasn't really Sam's fault though - it wasn't as if he was searching out demons to drink their blood, Famine had sent the demons to him and hard as he tried he couldn't resist not with Famine making it impossible for people to resist their desires. That guy using a toilet brush to get more twinkies down his throat for example - that was extreme...I wouldn't want to use a toilet brush knowing where that thing goes :)

I loved the ending, Jules. Another great piece of work and such a touching brotherly moment that rarely seems to come around anymore. I look forward to starting your next story - think I'm almost caught up now. :)

P.S. Married life is going great. I love being married. I don't really see my husband that much anymore though - he got a day job and he has school at nights so I don't see him at all Monday - Thursday unless I get off work before he goes to work and work is busy for me right now so that rarely happens. But I've got enough to keep me busy I guess and three dogs to keep me company so I'm not lonely for long. :) Hope you are doing well as well. :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Candace,

Glad to hear you and hubby are doing well.

Thank you. I don't usually write tags, but this one just sort of sneaked up on me and bit me on the ankle.

And you're right, Sam didn't actually go through the whole drying-out process either time because of intervention. And his shame at succumbing to the addiction was shown in the episode, both when he first told Dean he was hungry for it, and at the end after Famine was dealt with, when Sam had trouble meeting Dean's shocked gaze.

Thank you again - so glad you enjoyed it, hun. The brotherly moments are still there....we just have to look a lot harder for them these days.

Afraid I won't be able to catch up on all of it I'm far too tired for that it is going on close to midnight here but it was the only chance I had to read but at this point I can't keep my eyes open. It's sad to see the brothers at such a strained point right now. I look forward to the other chapters to see what happens. Sorry I'm so far behind. :)

Very funny first chapter, Jules! I loved it! I loved when Dean said he had to go to the bathroom and Sam said that he didn't he was just trying to sneak off so he could go suck his thumb and then Dean sending Sam in to go get take out to save himself the embarrassment of facing waitress again and also to give himself some alone time with his thumb, but of course Sam didn't fall for that and wrenched the door open to pull Dean's thumb out of his mouth almost as soon as Dean stuck it in there. But then Dean hit him below the belt, literally, poor Sam. I'm really enjoying this so far. Great work as always!

Ah, you loved our poor Dean sucking his thumb, eh? LOL. I tried to torture him with the most ridiculous things I could think of, and what better for our macho hunter than to be reduced to a two-year-old's habits?

And yep, Dean definitely struck back below the belt - lol. Ouch......

Oh my gosh I think I cracked a rib I was laughing so hard at this chapter. Holy crap it was so funny, but poor Dean. I loved Sam's first reaction in the morning when Dean first released his gas and then how it steadily got worse throughout the day. Poor Dean in that diner oh my gosh I couldn't stop laughing and almost couldn't keep reading the chapter because I had tears running down my face - I must have burned off so many calories. And the very end of the chapter too was so funny "Good night, Dean." Prrrrt...prrrt....prrrt...prrrt... "Uh, gahhh..." "Shut up, Sam." Too funny - I'm excited to read more.

Author's Response:

LOL! That particular scene right at the end, and in the diner, was one of the first rough notes I jotted down when I first got the idea for the story.

I actually completely cracked up both my banner-maker and my beta when they got to that diner scene. So I figured I'd hit the right note there - no pun intended....well, okay, a little pun.

Seriously, there's just something hilariously embarrassing about passing wind, so I just stuck Dean in a diner full of people and let him rip!

Exquisite torture of the fun kind.

So Dean stopped to smell the flowers in this chapter huh? LOL  I loved how he always found how pretty everything was - it was so funny. It was almost like he was concussed himself and was so fascinated with everything.

Poor Sam though when the big scary monster finally did show up. But at lease he has an idea now of what is going on with his brother. Another wonderful chapter - I especially liked the conversation between Sam/Bobby/Dean it was so funny. Looking forward to reading the next chapter.

Flower-power Dean was pretty sweet and funny, wasn't he? The real Dean would have beaten his head against a tree rather than hugging it - lol.

Poor Dean having such an emotionally draining day. Although him crying over chick flicks was hilarious. Looks like Sam is getting really annoyed with Dean's little perks each day and some of the things he said in front of Bobby weren't very nice, even though if Dean were acting like himself he probably would've just smacked Sam upside the head. I loved the whole tied him to the impala's roof though and I love the banner your aunt made you. Very funny. Another wonderful chapter under your belt, Jules. I look forward to the next one.

Ah, thank you. I was rather proud of that line. And Chris' banner - thank heavens I was on my own in the office when she emailed it to be, because I just burst out laughing. The look on Dean's face is classic!

Another wonderful chapter, Jules. Good that they were able to finish off the Tailypo but bad that Dean now has fainting spells. So funny though. Sam totally took advantage of that phase of the curse - first with the blood stained pants and then half chewed up food in his mouth. I love how Dean fainted at everything, a bug splattering itself on the windshield, a dog relieving itself on someone's lawn, bird droppings on the impala. Too funny. Wonderful chapter I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Hey, Candace,

Yep, Sam's really going to milk this for all it's worth, since Dean isn't in any real danger...well, if you don't count the possibility of him knocking himself on the head every time he faints....

Poor Dean....our big, tough, fearless hunter fainting at the sight of bird poo and bug guts.

LOL

Oh wow that story was so amazing and so funny, Jules! I loved it from beginning to end. My husband even came in to see why I was laughing so hard. Man all those curses together at once - poor Dean can't even handle his own flactuations - that was so funny. And I don't blame him for being mad after the whole thing was over I'd be pissed too. But what an intoxicating story I couldn't stop reading. I loved where Sam said that if they went fast enough they might outrun the smell. Too funny and then Dean threatening Sam with a shotgun - and Sam running away with no shoes on and no lock pick so he can't get back in. A wonderful story from start to finish and I look forward to reading it again sometime. I think this is one I'd enjoy reading several times. Great job a well deserved 5 star story and two thumbs way way up!!!!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, hun.

It was fun to write, actually. Well, a couple of chapters did have me banging my head against the keyboard in frustration, but I got there in the end.

Actually, the last chapter was the hardest. Trying to remember to keep hitting Dean with everything at once and not have it repetitive was a pretty difficult trick.

Oh, so glad you loved Dean driving Sam from the motel with the threat of a buttload of rocksalt. I had to have some little bit of payback - but not too much. After all, Sam was just being a typical little brother. And he was right in what he said to Bobby - if the roles had been reversed, Dean would have taken full advantage - lol.

Thanks again for coming along on this crazy ride.

Hey Jules! I know it has been a while since I've reviewed anything, but in all honesty I haven't had a lot of time to read, between working full time and being a full time house wife and trying to get some other things finished by certain days I've been really preoccupied lately. But it was really fun to have the time to read one of your marvelous stories again.

I have to say one of my favorite parts of this story was when John thought the little baby was Sam's. That really cracked me up - and then the look Sam gave John when he realized what John was thinking, too priceless! A wonderful story, Jules, just like all the others. You shouldn't worry so much about diving into new territory, you know that we'll enjoy anything you write simply because you wrote it. We don't have internet access at our apartment right now, but I'm at my parents today - mostly because I'm too scared to be alone at the apartment because some creep tried to follow me to my car when I was leaving to go to work yesterday. So I'm going to take advantage of this and save what stories I haven't written to my computer and read them when I can. I promise I will review them soon.  Thanks as always for sharing your work with us and I hope you are doing well. :) Hugs.

Author's Response:

Hey, Candace! So great to hear from you and know you're still around. I know you've been mega busy with home, work and other stuff.

Ah, I'm stoked that John's reaction came over well. I tweaked that a fair bit, I have to admit, just to get his shock and misunderstanding right. Chopped and changed a bit of dialogue, etc.

Really hope you've managed to shake that creepy bloke off your back. What a horrible feeling!

Take care, and thank you, hun. Hope you are doing well, too.

Great start, Jules. I really enjoyed it - poor Sam. He must be terrified as he doesn't really understand where he is or how he got there. It must be very disorienting. And I feel for Dean as well, watching his brother flinch away from him, terrified of him - but then the relief later as Sam reaches out to him, and seems to remember him. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter - sorry I'm so far behind on my reading, I just don't have a lot of time these days since we're moving in two weeks. But I'm hoping to catch up with your work soon. :)

Author's Response:

Candice, hey, hunny. How are you going?

I think I've been using the wrong email for you, actually. Will have to check my address book and see if I have the right one.

Yes, Sam is totally confused, has no idea where he is or why he isn't being hurt. But Dean's coaxing and gentleness is slowly bringing Sam back to reality and out of the memories, faint as they are, of the cage.

And it is hard for Dean, not really being certain if the wall will hold or if it has already started to crumble. Balanced on a knife's edge, wondering if he will lose his brother anyway, despite his best efforts to restore Sam.

Don't you worry about falling behind, hun, you just make sure you take time out for yourself. I know it's been pretty tough for you lately. You don't need any more stress.

You're in my prayers.

Great story, Jules! I really enjoyed it and it was really nice to take some time out for myself and enjoy something like this after an extremely busy week, especially since they rescheduled the new episode for next week and I won't get the chance to see it. Not until the 7th at least. But again wonderful job on this, I loved your take on how Sam would react when he woke up in the panic room. I know this will be AU when the episode aires next week but for me you made it very believable and I hope that the episode will be half as good as this story was. Thank you for the ride and I hope that you are doing ok after the flood you are in my prayers as well and I hope to catch up with some more of your work in a couple weeks after I get our new place set up and when I have the time. Oh and the e-mail you are using to send me the attatchments is fine - I use both e-mails on a regular basis so either one is fine. :) Take care!

Author's Response:

Hi, Candace,

It's the 10th, and I still haven't seen the new eppy yet...*sigh*....got to love technology...

Thanks so much for that. It just made sense to me that Sam would perhaps need that transition time - time to reset, as it were. And yes, Show has knocked the story into AU, so I marked it as that to save time - lol.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the convoluted ride with Sam slowly reconnecting and regaining his thought processes.

Floods missed my place, but it was still really hard to watch all the devastation going on in Brisbane and surrounding areas. Seeing places I knew go under, and being cut off for a night until the water started receding.

Good luck with the move, hun, I hope that everything goes smoothly as possible for you.

hugs

Jules
