Giggles warmly to the above. Excellent banter. Story perfection! How you wrote soulless Sam was spot on. Thank you to Ziggy for all her extra help during such a busy time and for always being so supportive and caring...And Christ...such an exceptional banner. I still say the artwork makes the story come to life that much more and she makes the piece speak without the use of words. Talent! The whole story is fantastic. But I wanted to pick a favorite part -to tell you about -- and that was Sam chopping down the tree and snow falling on his head...that image is so endearing -- even for soulless Sam. And his slow come back to reality is superb. The show does not have the luxury of time....the way pen and paper or keyboard can have...but I hope we get something along this line...in a compacted form. I went over and over Sam's disconnected speech, tidying it up a little bit each time as he reconnected with the reality he was in, and the muscle memory of the cage faded until he could finally remember the words for warmth and softness and comfort, instead of cold, pain and fear. I am indeed working on a new one. It's finished, actually, but I think I stuffed up the last two scenes in the epilogue, so I'm rewriting them over the weekend, then going over the final tweaks for chapter one before I post it. Why is it that you can look at the damned thing a thousand times on the computer, but once you print out the hard copy and sit down to read it through, you always find errors??? Gah!
