  Date: 22/01/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Up to your usual high standards - poor old Sam does a lot of huffing here in between getting whumped. Funny how he's starting to soudn like Dean (Season 1 Sam would never have geeked out about a Remmington...!) Got a query for you though - obviously Sam isn't talking to Bobby on the phone, so who is he talking to who would have left silver bullets and stuff in their car, and who might have accompanied them to hospital - surely not Cas?? Um.....did you mean the last vignette? Sam's talking to Dean, actually. He's not on the phone. When he mentions cleaning out the trunk of the Impala and the misaligned shotgun, he's talking to Dean while he's sitting beside him, waiting for him to wake up. Dean's got hold of Sam's hand, so he can't really go anywhere. And it would have been Bobby accompanying them to the hospital, since the wheelchair lift in the van is now working. The breaks in the conversation is merely Dean struggling to wake up, and fading in and out of sleep while Sam's talking. Sorry that it wasn't clear. Hope you enjoyed the story despite the confusion. Date: 22/01/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Hi Jules - feeling really dumb now, of course he's talking to Dean - doh! No wonder he was going on about guns and stuff.... And it wasn't even early in the morning here or anything when I read it!! Oh well, blame it on my age or something. Anyhow, doesn't detract from my enjoyment! Author's Response: Hi - that's all right - although you did have me worried - I was just wailing and flailing to my beta on MSN. It's morning over there - late night here. Love time differences - not. Well, not sure how old you are, or if you are even as old as me, but I can tell you that over-40's moments as my good friend Supernaturaldh calls them, are a huge part of my daily existence, so I understand where you're coming from. Date: 05/03/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Very elegantly put together with the careful repetition and I very much liked the mirrored scene from Faith with the roles reversed. Maybe Dean deserved to be put through the mill like this...gruelling though it was to read it! Thanks, Ann-Marie, I've heard a few different theories, but that scene still really rattles my cage, on a number of levels. Whether it was Dean turning the tables on Sam about his wild hunches being risky as hell but turning out right (Route 666, Great Pumpkin), whether Dean was letting off some residual anger and resentment, or whether the writers just got him out of character for the sake of a laugh, it still rankles with me. I'm pleased you liked the Faith mirrored scene. I was also going to mirror the scene from IMTOD with the coffee falling from Dean's hand, but since Sam was hooked up to monitors in the story, it wouldn't have worked the same, so I had him still at the door when the dream Sam's heart gave out. Date: 11/02/10 Title: Chapter 1: I'll Scream So Loud I wouldn't mind slamming Dean up against a wall (though being 5 foot 2 I don't think I'd be that effective!) Couple of English things for you - "his nostrils flailing" I think you mean "flaring" "capturing Dean into his nightmare" - I think should be "trapping" (subtle difference I know - you would use trapping something as an action in this instance, Dean could then be a captive in his nightmare. You can capture something but that is usually used slightly differently) Author's Response: HEY! Date: 18/02/10 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 The second chapter is much stronger than the first I think, and this is starting to build into an interesting story. I like the premise... It will be good to see where you go with it. Oh, I could do without the teasers into the nest chapter (unless you made them a lot shorter perhaps?) Amber, I am glad to hear you like the premise of the story as I was a little worried what people would think of it. In the first chapter I was being purposely evasive because I don't feel it is a good thing to give away everything right off the bat, and maybe that is why the second chapter felt stronger to you. I have the excerpts in place because I was worried what people might be wondering as to the direction of the story, but it is not necessary to read them if you do not choose to. Couple of typos if you are interested "lost a couple of individuals of the heard." herd.... "It was slowly getting on his nerve. " nerves... Minor stuff, still fun, wondering if you are going to build a story or keep these almost self contained? Author's Response: Ouch the type-o's made me cringe! Stupid butter fingers, but thanks :) I'm counting on this to remain open and update whenever I feel an urge. It's not gonna lead to anything sinister, I hope :( Most my stuff ends up being about one or both brothers getting in way over their heads and I'm really hoping to keep clean with this one :) But if you're looking for hurt or seriousness may I suggest another of my.... darker... stories?
