Date: 25/11/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Stories like this just break my heart now that we know the outcome of things. Well written and I love the characterization of the priest. Don't they though? If I'd had the foresight to write this back in Season 2 it would have been a fluffy feel-good fic. Now it's just kind of bittersweet. *sigh* But I have faith that our boys will get back here someday. Barring that, I have an armory full of toys Dean would like and Sam's mad google.maps-fu skillz. I think he did the best he could with the boys. It just wasn't always what we would think of as best. Author's Response: Hey there I just wanted to write something that was justify Dean's fear. I hate flying, it all the hanging around in mid air that gets to me!! I hate heights too which doesn't help. Date: 11/12/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Love the start of this one. Season two was always my favorite season until season four came along. And What Is and What Should Never Be is one of my all time faves. It's nice to see your version of what happened after that and I like seeing Sam with his college friends. It's nice to know he does have some normal memories. Thank you! Yes, Sam does have some normal memories, but I imagine it wasn't all that good for him at Stanford, despite his having friends and Jessica. He admitted to Dean at the end of Skin that he always felt like a freak, even at school where he didn't fit in, as much as he longed to be normal. I wanted something different, so I hit on the revenant rather than an angry spirit, which I've done a few times now. The revenant was new - well, new for me, lol. And it gives a chance for a juicy backstory. Angsty Dean coming right up - chapter 3 is full of it - lol. Hope you like it - he's still got a bit of stuff to work through before this hunt is over. You'll think I'm crazy but the one that really stood out to me was when Dean smoothed out Sam's wrinkled shirt collar. All the little things that Dean does for his brother, well, that's why I love him! Can't wait for the Bobby story! Congrats on The Kripke....very well deserved! I love the little touches too, and that smoothing out of Sam's collar seemed just a Dean-as-parent thing to do since Sam couldn't fix it very well one-armed like he was. This is how I saw Sam in that bedside vigil - sad, scared, worried, upset but angry and over thinking, ready to act with pent up energy. I was so not surprised when he confronted Castiel in the hall. Also, I'm a little confused (or I missed something....which is entirely possible). Chicago is in Illinois but it appears you have it in Michigan? I want to know how they're going to get out of this one! Must finish before the 3rd! Is that Meg with the nasal twang??? Date: 01/01/10 Title: Chapter 1: Restraining Tears Good story. Dean was probably more traumatized over his mother's death than Sam was over Jessica because he was four and couldn't begin to understand what was going on. I love them both but Sam does sometimes say insensitive things. In his defense, I think John and Dean made him somewhat selfish by trying so hard to protect him. You can protect someone too much.
