Date: 21/04/07 Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue So glad I came on here to leave a little review or I wouldn't have caught the epilogue - and what a fabulous end to fabulous story! Loved every minute of it! I think you're probably right that the boys wouldn't be allowed to show that much emotion towards each other on the show... although who knows as we get to those last couple of season 2 eps? I really liked how you explored the boys' relationship here, the way they feel about each other. You were very even-handed. Often, it's either Sam Worship or Dean Worship, and it was nice to read a story where they're both shown to feel equally as protective and strongly about each other. That scene in Croatoan was heartbreaking enough, but you gave it such a deep background story here that now I'm always going to be thinking of this fic when I see the episode. Date: 07/03/07 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 So I guess I really owe you a review for every chapter, but I read this all in one sitting! Just got to say, I loved the whole concept behind this. I know Sam gets accused of being selfish quite a lot - I don't really see that myself - and it's nice that you've shown that he can be just as self-sacrificing as Dean and John. I especially liked the part where Dean found him in the back of the Impala - "You don't get to leave me again!" Awww... Great stuff! Summary:

Date: 06/05/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Quite why it took me so long to see this is anyone's guess... This was absolutely heartbreaking. And very telling of Dean's character in that, despite hating to be alone, the only way he can deal with his grief is by leaving Sam and falling apart where his brother can't see him do it. Gotta keep his gameface on, after all... Loved the way you used the quotes from various episodes as Dean was shooting down the bottles. And it says a lot about his tolerance for alcohol that his aim was still so good after so many beers! Fabulous! Summary: In the space between the life they have and the life they wish for, exists the life they are meant to lead. Dean's sacrifice as told through Sam's eyes...

Date: 08/05/07 Title: Chapter 1: As brothers 0h, that was just amazing!! You filled in all the missing pieces that I wish this episode had filled absolutely perfectly! I'm sure if Raelle Tucker had had two hours instead of 40 minutes, this is exactly what she would have written. I totally agree with you - and I wish the episode had made the point - that Dean would have come back for Sam - saving everyone else would have been just an additional bonus. No way would Dean leave Sam to the YED, and he would have known that, even with another Sam with him in his fantasy world. I also loved that you wrote this in the first person from Sam's pov - that line about wondering whether Jess still smelled of lilies absolutely killed me! Superb stuff! Author's Response: Aww, Iris. Loved the spin you put on Dean's actions in Hollywood Babylon - and that all wasn't as it appeared with him, much like the movie business! Date: 20/05/07 Title: Chapter 1: A Life Less Ordinary So I guess I should have read Into the Fire first (still on my reading list!) but I couldn't resist this when I saw it was a Wee!chester fic - I'm just a sucker for Kiddie Winchesters! And surprisingly enough, I followed the story completely. I thought you wrote all three of the Winchesters brilliantly here, plausibly explaining why John is so hard on Dean - because he has to be to keep Dean strong enough to look after Sam - but I thought you wrote Dean particularly well. I love him in protective big brother mode, but he was awesome in protective older son mode too!! Your descriptions of what he felt after he was stabbed were incredibly vivid, and his assertion that he'd 'screwed up' was absolutely heartbreaking. Another great chapter - Tree, once again you outdid yourself with the gore and ick factor and I'm guessing Steph wrote Mary's letter to ickle Sammy, which was just - gulp! Don't wreck the Impala. I mean it. Date: 16/12/07 Title: Chapter 3: Something's Wrong With Our Eyes OMG just when I think it can't get more yucky... I think I was actually closer to throwing up than Dean was there! Liked the way you had the first half centreing on a phone conversation between Dean and Sam, and the second between Sam and Bobby. But why won't Dean answer the phone? And who exactly is stalking him? Gah! We need answers and there's no more chocolate till we get them! Date: 20/12/07 Title: Chapter 4: I Don't Know What It Is... Oooooh I want to be Svetlana! Trapped in a car with Dean... There are certainly worse ways to spend eternity! This is rattling along nicely - even though the boys aren't technically together, you've still got all the snark in there and them bouncing off each other perfectly. And the three-way conversation at the end with Bobby was just brilliant - the dialogue could have come straight off a 'real' episode!

Date: 30/12/07 Title: Chapter 5: And God Knows It Ain't His... It's really not fair that a pistachio demon gets to launch itself at Dean. I've been good all year - why didn't Santa give me an injured, helpless Dean trapped immobile on the front seat of the Impala? And I bet the stupid demon'll just try and eat him. Honestly. Demons are dumb... Er... Where was I? Oh yeah - this was a brilliant chapter! Again, the boys might be separated, but their banter is still superb - especially Dean trying to get Sam to call him a jerk. It's also telling that even though he doesn't want to admit it, Dean feels more secure when he has Sam on the phone. Awwww. Okay, this cliffie's been here long enough. Hurry up with the resolution!!

Aw, poor Dean getting all panicky when he can't get Sam to answer his cellphone... And I loved the flash forward to Sam's dealing with burying his brother - something we didn't really get to see in the show, so some nice insight there!

(Don't tell me you weren't imagining yourself as the nurse in question there, Tree...!) Liked getting Snarky!Dean back at the end there. And I loved how you mirrored those two sections where at the beginning Sam hoped Dean hadn't noticed he was hurt, but he had, and then later on Dean hoped Sam hadn't noticed he was hurt, but he did!
