Wow - what a shock it must have been to see season 4 Ani - especially if she matched at all with the character in your head! Works well though, liked the sassy way she deals with Bobby - straight down the line!!! Can't wait to see what part Ani has to play here.

Still with you - I think I may be your newest stalker?!!!!!I have not really explored or given much time to drabbles - but I am coming round to think that well written ones (yours chiefly amongst those !!!LOL!) are like distilled emotions. Because the words are so measured the overall impact is so overwhelming and small descriptive jump off the page with all the TLC of a sixteen wheeler!!!!!! Brilliant stuff Cal. LOVED that ; "empty space beside him ached fiercely" line! You really are sharpening your talents on this one!

Stalk away! I love drabbles, like you say, they take emotion and distill it right down - the number of words I cut out for each one can get truly terrifying at times!

That line was a favourite - in fact, it's an idea I've used in other stories too - and I had it from the moment I started writing this set of drabbles, so I'm glad you liked it.

There is something just very wholesome and heartwarming in the way you write these moments in the boys(young) lives. These snapshots of them dealing with the everyday world gives weight to their close bond later in life and you clearly map the journey from dysfunctional and lost to grounded Brothers in arms and future Triad. Of course there is still tension but it is all underwritten with love and you deliver that again and again. Loved this as I do all your Caleb coming to the rescue moments - yes its fluff, but its Just Enough FLUF!!!!!! Your work, as ever, is a real treat to read - can't wait for In Victus - good luck with the struggle!!!!!!

Not only are you a fantastically talented author, but your stories literally have the power to move and inspire me. I adored this one shot, it filled in a long anticipated blank but with such depth and complexity - it was so worth the wait!!!!

Touching, liked the idea of Dean honouring his Mother's Birthday in such a sentimental way, like she is the only one in the world he'd do that for. Ithink this is very Dean-like.

Nice plot hints too regarding Mary and her need to do everything now.

I enjoyed the small details- the water in Dean's hair, the stars flickering through slats in a cellar door. This is one hell of a fix Dean has gotten into- but that promise is easily recognisable as the Dean Winchester's iron-clad "Whatever it Takes" promise, I hope this girl eventually went on to discover this.

This was a wonderful trip back into the Brotherhood world. Enjoyed the ride very much.

It can't be easy entering another writers world - Ridley and Tida do such an amazing job and make it a truly tall order, but your work is a perfect companion. You nail Caleb - and the Damian Deuce relationship is just right here too. Great job all round - still smirking at the thought of Mac and Johnny with aprons - now there is THE REAL Christmas present!!!!

You have a marvelous way with the angst - just the right Dean pitch in my opinion!!!! LOL.

Well I believe your experiment was a success because for me you nailed Dean's tone - his thoughts flowed exactly how I imagine they would, loved the way you represent his guilt in the mirror. Amazing stuff. The interplay between the brothers was spot on too. They still have the time honoured snarkiness (LOL at Dean selling Sammy to the circus!!!!!) but your right it has changed. In Dean's time away - and also the lead up to hell - both Winchesters perfecting their masks leaves them in more of a grey zone. Exciting times season 4!!!! (Or at least it would be once it gets going here in the UK!!!!)

Well that packed a punch. Amazing stuff - there was so much here that was just authentic Dean, the tone the reasoning - you capture both perfectly!

I have to admit I have not seen this episode - but the sentiment carries so well here. I am kind of dreading what's down the line for the boys. Your portrayal of Dean breaks my heart - and it's not due to fanciful language, it's purely because it has the ring of truth and the force of believability behind it. Truly stirring stuff.

Glad you did this - it's nicely balanced. Again your motives and explanations are sound - I have to confess I am digging your version of Dean more than Sam - but only marginally so (and I am biased!!!). You have some gems in here again - loved the line about Dean using Sam's nickname but without the warmth it used to signify. The fact that they think along the same lines from opposite sides is very well played out.
