Date: 21/02/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Jules, This concept is wonderful because I also found it alarming when Dean did that to Sam. the different nightmares were hard to read and I could definitely tell that Dean was in bad shape! Nice touch putting the real world with Sam in as well especially since there's that real world nightmare Author's Response: It was just so un-Dean-like, wasn't it? We're used to Sam playing hunches, but Dean taking a blatant risk like that? That was foreign territory indeed. So this satisfied a nagging little doubt about my beloved Dean. I love how you wrote Sam's journey from not wanting to hunt to not saying yes! I love that your little something made me cry--while your bigger stories just put me into a sobbing coma! the angst! Date: 06/05/10 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Jules, Yes, what a coincidence, actually, that this ends the same week as the finale. I really can't compare this, though. I think the finale is going to rip our hearts out......I've seen two sneak peeks already, and I'm stocking up on tissues... Thanks, hun - I really wanted to reinforce that for Dean, and what better way than via Gabriel, who had just gotten a peek inside Sam's head when he healed him. I've never believed that Sam stopped loving his brother, because that's just not possible. And all Sam's tried to do in season five is make amends for how badly he screwed up. What a burden to know that you were misled to the extent of letting the devil loose on the world. How can one keep going with that hanging over one's head? I've really felt for Sam this last season. So his battle to set things right, and his continuing love for his brother, had to be acknowledged, in my opinion. And yep, one more chapter to go. There was just way too much to cover - lol. It could have just as easily been Sam doing the digging as John, as they share a lot of the same traits. I actually drew on that fact for certain passages, like the research line. I figured since Sam is so much like his dad, he must have gotten his love of research from John. Especially now that we know Mary was a hunter, and Dean takes after her. It just made sense to me....*shrugs*.... Oh, and thank you - I don't usually look John's way except to wolf-whistle at JDM, but I had fun drawing out John's motivation and reactions. I'm still holding onto hope for the boys getting back together. They've always fought, they've always differed.....it's just that as each season has gone past, the intensity has ramped up, making their arguments a wee bit scary now....
