I absolutely love the Yellow eyes banter and your John is so heartwenching... I started crying reading the little tidbits from S2 which are perfectly threaded throughout the story! excellent! Author's Response: Hey, there you are! Never too late, thanks so much for looking my fic up. Thanks heaps for your lovely words. "wow" and "brilliant" just make my day. In all serioiusness, this fic was a really draining write. Being in Hell with a grieving and devastated John was pretty hard (as you found out!)I've always been a john!girl - from the beginning I always believed he might be a ba$tard, but he was a ba$tard who loved his sons. This was a plot bunny that wouldn't leave me alone. John's death in IMTOD was such a shock, and the boys were so spun out - it wouldn't leave me alone that such a dymanic man, who had had such a huge impact on his boys and on the Show would just...disappear...And I also thought there was no way YE and Hell would not make him pay. I know that Blake has got good intentions but I want SamnDean back together! I really love the character of Ginny! I honestly think that your storyline is much more fitting than what's going on the Show ;) Jules, I know that you're a Dean girl, but I find that you really do get Sam and honestly, I like how you're treating Sam's decisions, etc! Date: 25/05/09 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 WOW!! you guys have me sobbing even after reading this part for the third time! Dean- I'm loving the fact that Sam revealed his true self in the journal and that Dean gets to read it. Yes, Sam's an idiot for having to run away from Dean and not staying to work it out. I love how you have Dean shift from calling Sam names to aching with him as he understands that Sam wasn't in a very good frame of mind since Dean's death. If we can't have Sam actually tell Dean his true feelings and thoughts then the journal is an excellent runner up for this! I love the scene when Blake finally comes to admit to Dean that he was wrong about things. I thought that it was an excellent scene which conveyed both men's concern for Sam beautifully! The last scene in Sam's hospital room was so poignant and just beautiful! Sam- you guys, despite being Dean girls just get Sam. I love that you highlight his flaws, but at the same time acknowledge that he's only human and should be allowed to make mistakes and still be loved. I LOVE this about the story and honestly I haven't seen this in the Show! I just hope that S5 does as much justice to Sam as you girls have done! Reading about the radiation treatment was very painful especially as Sam thought himself to be alone in the world and just really wanting Dean to be at his side. I know that others see Sam as being a hypocrite, etc but I just see him as a broken man who felt that he was all alone in the world. It might not be the truth of the matter, but to him it must have felt that way. I hope that you'll show us some more into Sam's thoughts, etc on why he thought that Dean would follow through with his promise. The scene in the hospital was just so telling how much Sam isn't okay- regardless of the cancer- seeing Catherine as Ruby and calling out for Dean just screams to me that Sam really does need help from Dean. I can't wait until Friday! :D Author's Response: This review has just blown us away. You are totally getting everything - absolutely everything - we set out to portray in this story. Thank you so much for your articulate and detailed comments. Thank you, too, for pointing out the scenes that got to you, there is no greater compliment for an author. Not to mention how stoked we are that you loved our chapter enough to read it three times. Our intention was for our readers to see Sam through first Sam's eyes and then Dean's and you are there with us the whole way. Your words show you rode that emotional roller coaster of understanding with them, and with us. Yes, the illness and radiation dropped Sam to rock bottom on top of his guilt and loneliness, and we aimed at using the journals to show this. You are spot on with your comments. You share our understanding - we have never seen Sam, in the Show nor in our fic, as whiny or selfish. Date: 29/05/09 Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11 I have to admit that I haven't been missing the Show as much since I have Fridays to look forward to because I wait for the weekly chapter! I had to refresh the page a few times waiting for you girls to post. That's how addictive I've become to the story ;) Outsider POV- I absolutely adored the opening scene with Blake and Cate looking in on the boys! I just loved the description you gave of how intwined they became while asleep. Also- I'm liking the little glimpses that you give us of the boys and Sam in particular and how they're viewed in the eyes of the outsiders. I absolutely LOVE Willa and Em, as well as Ginny of course! I love how Em was like 'you're such an idjit if you can't see that they're related' LOL I LOVED LOVED how you had Dean thinking that the trio have taken very good care of Sam but it could never come close to how excellently Dean takes care of Sam. I like that Dean is acknowledging this to himself especially since up 'til 4.14- this has been non-existent! Dean- I love how he's trying so hard to make it up to Sam, but what with Sam's fears standing in the way- he has a huge uphill battle ahead of him. The coffee was such an awww moment and it made me cry that Sam stopped drinking that flavor because the memories were too painful. I liked the fact that 'cos of the journal, Dean knew what buttons to push of Sam's but he still stood his ground as big brother. Sam- You answered my question from last week about why Sam's still convinced that Dean wanted to kill him. It's so painful to even think that Sam heard Grace and Dean talking and of course being out of it and not hearing the full conversation nor its context- Sam jumped to the wrong conclusion. I sobbed when I read the line where Sam sees the cheve because the Impala is apart of the family and it must have been a shock for Sam not to see her waiting for them outside. I can not wait for Friday!

Date: 16/06/09 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12 First of all- Jules, I hope that you're feeling better *hugs* take all the time you need to recover ;) Finally, the talk!! I loved every second of it! I loved how Dean explained to Sam what actually happened in the Panic Room and how he got Sam to reveal what happened at Stull. I know that there's one more secret between them, but my heart really breaks for Sam. Obviously Dean will be angry when he finds out but I think that Dean will be more mad at Sam keeping secrets from him and Dean most definitely won't do what Sam expects from him- to "kill" Sam and just leave. I hate it that Sam feels like that and that he can't trust in Dean's love for him. The story about how four year old Dean loved to talk to an unborn Sam was such a great touch in addition to the fact that Dean refers to Sam as his kid. My heart was mush when I read that! Continuing with the stories- I love the 'bedtime' story Dean told Sam- it was a wonderful story. Finally, I want to add that I love how you guys portrayed Dean in this part since you've made him grow and become wiser in his dealings with Sam. I loved that he started to bond with Sam over the soup and that he actually tried the soup much to Sam's shock. I liked how he explained about the Panic Room and then afterwards he pushed Sam into revealing what happened at Stull. It really shows how Dean has changed. As for Sam, as much as I love him, I think that he still needs to grow in order to reach where Dean is now. What I'm trying to say is that Sam's stuck in the past as well as his own insecurities and I hope that they won't hold him back because he and Dean need to get back to being brothers and unconsciously, Sam might stop it from happening which I would hate to see happen. Again, Jules I hope that you're feeling better and don't worry about us and the story- take your time :D Petra- I hope that you're also doing okay.
Author's Response: Thank you - I'm feeling much better now. So pleased you loved the boys' little talk - it was a long time coming, wasn't it? And yes, Sam is quite wrong - Dean will be pissed, but he won't kill Sam. But Sam's had this secret crushing him for a long time - his fear has been built on this, and it won't be easy to shake. Yes, Dean has grown - the two years alone without his brother have changed him, and after reading what Sam went through, he's realised that Sam was suffering just as much as he was during the whole angels/demons thing. He's realised just how much they've lost, and how much they do need each other. Sam still has a great deal of fear to work through, but Dean won't let him hide away any longer. He's just going to have to convince Sam that they really are stronger together. Oh, and you liked the bedtime story? Lovely! Thank you! Author's Response: Woohoo!!!! We wowed and OMG'd you all in one fell swoop! We sort of came back with a bang, didn't we? LOL! Oh, thank you for that! We thought that Dean would just be shocked speechless by that revelation. Petra said she felt there was a lot more going on "off-camera" as it were during that episode - so we didn't get to see the whole of Dean's reaction in the show. But we bet on the inside he was raging. And we agree - we mapped out the timeline and we think that after 4.04 he stopped, only to start up again that night after Jay walked out of the bar, and then only in desperation. We didn't actually touch on whether Sam had become addicted in our story, because the first few chapters were written before The Rapture, so at that time we didn't know he was an addict. So we just surmised that if he had become an addict, it was pretty much burned out of him at Stull, when he got caught in the backwash of his own blast of power and almost died. As for Dean's love for his brother, and that his anger is directed at the actions not the man - well, we'll see in chapter 14. And the resolution from the angels - well, not from Cas. But Sam does get a surprise visitor..... Jules & Petra

Date: 05/07/09 Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Hope. Hope and restoration. That's what it's all about. This really sums up so nicely exactly what I want for the boys (especially Sam) in general and I can only hope that Kripke does give us some of that in S5. First of all- yay for the surprise visitor! I just thought about it reading part 13 and lo and behold you write about it in part 14 :D I loved Michael's talk with Dean which also allowed us to glimpse into Dean's pov about Sam and the drinking of the blood, even though Dean had made up his mind to go back to Sam before Michael showed up. I liked that Dean stood up for Sam which shows that he's still firmly in Sam's camp. I'm Jewish, but I agree with you girls about how you dealt with Sam's faith and his need to be approved by the angels- I hate that in the show, it was presented differently and honestly it's one of the reasons why I find S4 so hard to shallow and I'm just hoping that they deal with this in S5. I loved how afraid Sam is at the sight of Michael and honestly how he's afraid that this is all too good to be true for him and any minute now, he'll wake up and Dean won't be there and he'll just be alone again. BUT seriously? I hope that you have Dean knock some sense into him!! :D but I like how you're keeping it real with Sam's fears and not having him back to his old self just because Dean's there now. And what an image- having Michael hold Sam in his arms- I LOVED that you echoed from chapter 2 when he offered to take Sam from Dean- it shows how things have changed for Dean as well and how accepting he is of the arch-angel. And I LOVED the whole 'handing over' of the JACKET! I know that it's Dean's but it's so symbolical of the fact that now Sam is okay and able to come home to Dean and how Dean is there to accept him for who he is. and what an evil cliffy to leave us until Friday- I was neutral about Whitesnake, but I think that he just signed his own death warrant because Dean is so not going to let him live in one piece now! I have no idea what Whitesnake's planning and whether it is good or bad but I don't like whatever he's planning. and omg! only two more chapters to go? O_O Author's Response: Girl, you really get us, and our fic. We love how you get into all the nooks and crannies of our story and see exactly what our intentions are, see our connections and symbolisms, and understand the impact it has on the boys. Date: 01/08/09 Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15 first of all- Jules, I'm SO glad that you're doing okay now! Secondly, the review: OK, you guys surprised me- I didn't expect that blood brothers thing and I was more than a little suspious of Whitesnake but I'm glad to find him to be on the boys' side. I loved the outsider povs in this part starting with Whitesnake who knows Dean the best and ending with Ginny who knows Sam the best. I absolutely LOVED how they all saw that each Winchester was only half and together they make a whole. This is so TRUE and I can only hope that S5 shows this as well. You guys made me giggle and go aww and my heart melted during the brotherly moments especially the 'bitch-jerk' as well as 'that's my boy'. I'm starting to feel that Sam feels finally at home and not afraid that Dean will leave, etc and Dean's surprise and going to get the Impala so it can be a real welcome home for Sam just melts my heart. The bracelet exchange was so aww especially when Sam thought how Dean's simple gesture means a whole lot more than Whitesnake's blood brother thing. Since this is the last part, I'm praying that Sam's dream was just a regular nightmare ;) On that note- thanks so much for sharing this awesome wonderful story with us, it has been such a great ride! I loved the echoing of the pilot! But now Dean really knows Sam unlike in the pilot which is awesome!
The whole Grace thing was a really nice touch and I loved that you guys also brought that full circle from the beginning of the story. I definitely think that Sam deserves Grace's love and now we just need to get someone for Dean and we're set LOL
I actually liked that you used the show's formula and just stuck with the brotherly relationship with the romance very distantly in the background.
The last scene with AC/DC's "Back in Black" was SO WONDERFUL AND FITTING!! I couldn't have thought of a better ending to such an epic story! The boys travelling in the Impala together on their way somewhere- BRILLIANT!

I wish that you two could be on the writing team of the show because you just get the boys and you did something that I felt that the show lacked during S4- showing both brothers' POV and getting the reader to sympathize with both Winchesters as well as heaping on us all the great brotherly moments...BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!! Date: 13/08/09 Title: Chapter 17: Epilogue Part 1 WOW WOW WOW that’s all I’m going to say about Sam seeing the Impala again. PERFECT! The sparring was so cool and just one of the most wonderful brotherly moments during the story that I LOVED! Seeing the younger set of brothers- you guys gave me the feeling that both Sam and Dean no longer feel lost and alone. Sam’s fight with the town bully was great because I loved that Dean let Sam fight his own battles and Dean supporting Sam. Dean’s thoughts/voice is so poignant!
Sam saying goodbye to the women was so sad! OK, I'm off to read the final part...:( I don't want to see it end...but I guess that all great things need to come to an end sometime huh? Date: 13/08/09 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16 I absolutely LOVE the fact that the final part became a threesome! I just wanted to say sorry if I messed up with some of the names *blushes* Sam's conversation with Ginny- WOW!! Especially with her insight about mourning J. Campbell- brilliant! The bracelet and the watch that Dean got to replace and when he gave them to Sam just filled my eyes with tears! Willa totally got it! I've almost thought that at times Dean seemed to be Sam's father. Loved the little snippit about the boys' first time meeting Bobby. Loved the resolution with Jo! Ah, Blake will always remain Blake huh? but nice comparison of Blake’s words with Jessica's.
Sam shaving off his J. Campbell beard and saying goodbye to J. Campbell then saying Hello to S. Winchester was awesome especially threaded with the echoing of Dean's words! brilliant! I love that you were consistent with the story of the storm.Sam's praying and the help coming Dean's way was awesome! The reenactment of the pilot scene was PERFECT! The end with Dean calling Sam "Sammy" BRILLIANT!!! OK, now I'm off to read the next part... :DAuthor's Response: Gotta tell you, we were stunned ourselves when we combined our scenes and checked out the word count!! The more we talked, the more we wrote as the movie in our heads played out on the page. While we freaked at first, it is comments like yours that let us know loud and clear we did the right thing by splitting it. We are thrilled that you absolutely loved our threesome!! The bracelet and shaving scenes are among our favourites - one was written by Jules and one by me, and we both madly love each one. Date: 16/05/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 this is just wonderful! S1 was just pure goodness and it's nice that you've revisited it! Aww, thank you. Season 1 was a much more innocent - almost carefree - time for the boys. Before all the demons and deals and dark destinies. Their innocence sort of got ripped away in the S1 finale, didn't it? Anyway, it was nice to revisit that time, even if sometimes their relationship was still a little rocky - they were trying to get used to each other again after that long absence. Oh, I know - have only today watched episode 5.03, and I truly don't know what to make of things. I was so sure at the end of 5.02 that the love was still there, if a little strained, but after Dean said....what he said in the car....oh, gosh, I'm reaching for my worry beads and my In Kripke We Trust flag... And yes, the last few lines were sad - the chasm between the boys was pretty wide at that point, neither one fully relying on the other any more, neither one sure of the trust in the other. I did love doing the drugged Sam scene - I think Sam - or either brother actually - off his face is just hilarious, and great fun to play with. And I could just picture Sam's mind getting stuck on the fact that Dean first of all didn't want his belt cut, then had to cut it, therefore he must have needed it to keep his jeans up. Author's Response: Thanks, Pink, I will. I really wanted to see what happened next - that end scene was just so great, I watched it a few times - don't think I'll ever get tired of it. There was just so much behind Dean's words, and that little flinch Sam gave when Dean pulled the knife just broke my heart. That and Sam's inability to look Dean in the eyes for long. I love the little hints of Dean's anger and some what distrust of Sam (it's sad knowing what's happened on the show and reading this...) I kinda like Matt but I can't stand Felicia (guess who I'm hoping is the victim :P) BRING on the limp! Merry Xmas! Author's Response: Hey, Pink! Yes, it is sad, considering what has happened in canon. And Dean's distrust stems from his inability to separate reality from the Djinn fantasy. And the whole being threatened by Sam's Stanford friends thing. There's still a lot of hurt there over Sam leaving in the first place, and I think that in the back of Dean's mind, he's still waiting for Sam to take off back to that normal life once the hunt for the YED is over.
