Everything always wants a bio!

Okay.  I'm in my 20s, married, and a high school English teacher who is unabashedly obsessed with all things Supernatural.  I'm decided a Sam girl and partly responsible for a group known as SFTCOL(AR)S which promotes limp!Sam at all times.

I read this and reviewed over at ff.net, and I'm so glad I checked over here too so I can see that there is more to the fic to come--which makes me feel SO much better.  I was about to die over there.  I can't wait to see what's next.  Our poor heroic, noble boys.  They need hugs!

Author's Response: hey...thanks for both reviews!! i'm so glad you are enjoying the story!! it's the first fanfic i've ever written, and i am so thrilled that people seem to be liking it!! i'll be updating soon!! thanks again, you have no idea how much it means to me!! bambers;)

Awww...I love this.  Sam WANTS so much more for Dean even though they both know Dean wont' do it.  And Sam sacrifices peace for his brother...kind of makes me hope Dean appreciates Sam's sacrifice and concedes to let Sam have a little more heaven on earth.

I am glad Sam's not dead :)

Great fic!  I look forward to more from you!

Author's Response: ooohhh...i'm so glad you enjoyed it!! lol...not sure Dean would let Sam have a little more peace though...as for another story, i am working on a plot for one right now! so hopefully i'll be writing again soon...thanks for the awesome reviews!! bambers;)

**LAZARUS RISING SPOILERS ALERT**

"He'd always thought Sam was the strong one. He'd been so sure that his brother could handle life without him better than he'd been able to handle life without Sam. He was wrong.  Listening to Bobby’s brief retelling of the months following his death were proving just how far off the mark he’d been..."

Dean's little confrontation with Bobby goes a little differently.

I really like this--I really wish we'd gotten more from both Bobby and Dean about Sam.  Because they were a little concerned, but not nearly as much as I would have expected (or hoped).  So this fits the bill quite nicely for me.  I also really like that you give us a glimpse into what Sam went through--it humanizes him more than the ep itself managed to.

Author's Response:

Oh wow, thanks! I loved the episode, but I was shocked that there wasn't more emotional fallout shown. Then, with Sam's comment about the devil's gate and the demons not wanting to deal, I had to run with this. Thanks so much for reviewing. I hope I didn't overdo it, but I was seriously craving some major chick-flick moments.

What's so bad about Sam fic? ;)

I find this fic kind of fascinating since it deals with that time when Sam was dead--I so wish we got some acknowledgment of Sam's death and his opinions on it--even if he can't remember, the knowledge of it would have some impact on him, I think, but the show has never made it explicit.

Sadly few fics deal with it either so I like that this one does--and I like that this one almost makes me feel optimistic about all three Winchesters, which is not an easy feat for me :)

Author's Response:

It's irritated me since the end of season 2 that we never got to know what happened to Sam while he was dead - Dean never even asked him!  So when Castiel came along...  well I finally had a way to write that story!

Glad you liked it!  And there's nothing at all wrong with Sam fic (yours in particular!) I just didn't expect I'd be writing it!

I was really hesitant to leave a review, but I have to say, this chapter is just depressing.  The thought of Sam out there alone, even if by choice, when he really needs help and Dean just accepting it--is hard to swallow.  Truthfully, I'm having a hard time liking Dean right now, even if i understand why he's doing it.  He's lost Sam too many times, and I know he's grieving, but the fact is, his brother may not be dead, and I would think that post Hell, Dean would understand how sometimes you're just not ready to talk about it.  And not that Sam was perfect in the entire exchange, but of the two of them, Dean was more capable of being the support Sam needed to recover from what happened.

It's all very well written and clearly plotted, I just hope we get back to Sam soon.  Reading this reminds me that Supernatural isn't even close to the same without both brothers and their bond.  I also hope we get some insight into what Sam's feeling in this separation and that both boys realize what they've done wrong to each other.

Author's Response:

I'm sorry to see that you don't like where I've gone with this. I would ask that you bear with me, that the journey is far from over - but I would never ask a reader to keep on with a story that they haven't got the heart for.

Please don't think badly of my co-author - this chapter and all of its faults are all on me.

Julie

Author's Response:

I would just like to add, though, in Dean's defense, that he didn't just give up on Sam - he kept looking, but there were no clues, no trace of his brother to be found.

Not yet, anyway....

Well, this should definitely be something.  You sure you can't update early?  Like, um, now?

I do think your Dean here is quite believable--and even if he's not always thinking directly of Sam, I like how you bring back Sam's influence on him every now and then.  Signs that Dean hasn't quite moved on :)

Anyway, I'll be really anxious to see what Sam's been up to and how these two respond to seeing each other again.

(And I trust you!  I do!)

Author's Response:

LOL - I wish, but then I'd have to throw the story into another hiatus, because chapter 9 only has about 200 words written - lol.

Thanks for that - Dean would never let go of Sam, not completely. Even hurt as he's been, Sam's still his brother - his kid - and no matter what he's done, Dean can never completely turn his back on him. They're two halves of a whole - one is not complete without the other.

As for Sam - his story will unfold, and what a story....I'm just saying that because I know what's happened to him - LOL. I'm so evil.

So, ready for the fiery reunion?

Wow.  This chapter was worth the wait--and then some.  Amazingly well done here--I can feel Dean's frustration and more than that, I totally buy into the guilt and fear you have given Sam here, even without knowing everything he's been through.  This is exactly how I can see both of them responding in this situation.  Very nicely done.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Faye. Dean's in for a nasty shock, actually. And Sam is going to take a while to get over that fear.

They need to talk, and that's never easy. There's a very bumpy road ahead of both of them....

I think you're striking a remarkably good balance here.  The depth of Sam's failure is hard to imagine, and I think you very much got the brokenness of his aftermath.  Moreover, I love how you're drawing Dean's reaction out, and it gives me hope that both boys will become duly repentant, not so much for their role in the near-apocalypse, but for the pain they caused one another.

Nicely done chapter.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much Faye - it's even more appreciated since we shook you up a little with the previous chapters.

I'm not pointing fingers, but if I had to, I'd point them at John first. But then I'd point them equally at both brothers - they've both done wrong things and caused hurt to the other - well-intentioned or not. But I'm also hoping that the love that still exists will somehow pull them through - whatever is left of them after the finale (which we won't see for weeks yet - we've just seen 4.10)

But in this story, we're working towards a definite goal, and we won't deviate. Hopefully once I find out the bare bones of what did happen in the finale, I will still be able to finish this tale.....
