OH MY GOODNESS, YOU'VE SLAIN ME!

Honestly, I've been clicking random fics around here because I'm still sorta new and don't know what to read, but I'm quickly learning most of the stuff I read here is awesome!

This was just...GAH, I love John Winchester.  I love John Winchester fics.  I really really love John fics, especially when John isn't a major buttface, and he's so perfectly JOHN here!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

This was just so amazingly fabulous, perfectly told, and just plain hysterical! 

“Sam, stop calling your brother a jerk.”

“It’s the truth. And you told me I shouldn’t lie.”

John wanted to smack himself, Sam was way smarter than the average eight year old, and he always knew when to throw John’s rules right back at him.

“I also told you not to call your brother names.”

“You need to pick one rule and stick with it, Dad.”

I almost lost it here.  I seriously snorted so loud, I think I woke the dog. I could just envision Sam saying this *dies*

“Oh, I know about all that.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, girls lay eggs and they turn into kids.” Dean answered matter of factly.

And then you go and hit me with THAT one.  Are you TRYING to kill me?!  Because I seriously almost rolled off the bed.  Right off.  Into a hysterically laughing heap on the floor.  Broken arm?  Whatever, I'm too busy laughing my rear off!

So thank you.  For the late night laugh-fest.  Seriously, not only did I wake the dog, but I'm pretty sure my roommates had to have heard me too.  WHOOPS.

I'm so glad you joined, and I'm so glad you posted this, because you're probably the love of my LIFE for writing this story *puts you in pocket*

There really aren't enough words I can use to describe the sheer amount of GLEE I felt when reading this (again) because it's just so GUT-WRENCHING! I adore this fic to so many pieces, Petra, it hurts!

And hon, you make ME explode w/ joy on a daily basis!  *keeps you*

Oh good, it WORKED!

Now for a real review.

This was a random click for me, and it was an incredible random click.  What a small story just PACKED-FULL of emotion.  It was killing me, so much, to read through this.  

Dean hallucinating Sammy, trying to pretend he's not there, yet wanting him to come back when he finally did say goodbye...AGH, it was like a knife through my heart.

This line:

“Come back, please.” He whispered to the room.

Good freaking love, I almost had a meltdown when I read that.  It hurt to read.  I think I might have a permanent lump in my throat after this.  THANKS FOR THAT *glares*

Seriously, beautiful job, this was quite a read.  So much is packed into such a small fic.  

And btw, Within Temptation is FABULOUS.

Agh, seriously, this just made me fall over:

"My hand is resting on his chest; I can feel his beat too."

I'm so glad this small drabble has evoked such emotion from you. hahaha and I'm glad you're aching!!! You make me blush:P

I'm very interested in where this is going, HappyChaos.  The first chapter was very spooky, and now this one...well, it's peaked my interest and I'm going to nag you to continue because I really want to know what's going to happen!

Wee!chester is hard, but I like the way you've captured them so far.  Not sure about John, because you've only mentioned him through Dean's thoughts really, and I'm terribly hard on fics where John is a total jerk.  Not getting that vibe here right now, as I'm seeing it as an irritated teen's point of view.

I hope to see you continue this! Halloween may be over, but I need my fix! So hurry up already :-P *nags*

Bex, I can't even describe to you the twisting anguish wreaking havoc inside my stomach at the moment after reading this.

I'm dead serious when I sit here and tell you I have tears in my eyes at this moment.  And I don't think telling you that is enough to explain to you exactly what I want to explain to you.

I can't even squeal or type the proper way because my hands are actually kind of shaking...

And I'm not sure which lines to pick out to quote back to you because every. damn. line. is just heartbreaking and beautiful!  I mean, I'm in LOVE with your wording, in LOVE with your description, and in LOVE with the emotion you've put into this little one shot.

Sometimes, if Sam had time he'd lie in spot where his brother had died.

I mean, that was perfect, for Sam to mirror what Dean was doing in the beginning. 

Goosebumps when Dean realized what his personal hell was.  Life without Sam.  Just agh...killer, Bex.  

Thank you for this gorgeous story. 

WOW!

This was a really, fabulously done tag.  Loved the idea behind this, and the sadness of both brothers. Definitely loved Mary greeting Sam, and that last sentence of Sam's, "Mom, what about his other choice?" I could picture innocent Sammy saying it. 

Very well (and painfully) written.  Thank you for a lovely and heart-wrenching tag!

Oh wow, Steph!  This was absolutely stunning!

Sure, he had the Impala and while Dean acted like that was his most prized possession, Sam knew better. Dean could manage to part with the old classic on a daily basis, but never this. Never a small little trinket that probably looked like a piece of junk to any other person.

Never a child’s gift.

That is so perfect.  I truly adore how important that necklace is to Dean, and the fact that Sam was the one to give it to him is what makes it such a great focus for a story.  And you've pulled it off beautifully!  Thanks for a fantastic one shot!

How sad! This gave me goosebumps all over.

And this line:

I feel a tear escape and my final prayer was that my boys would stand by each other forever.

Gosh, I loved that.

DAD! THIS IS FANTASTIC!  Holy Metallicars, why do you do this to me? You write the smushiest whump in the world and it drives me crazy because your talent makes me want to smack you. But wouldn't that be awkward, your own son hitting you...

ANYWAY, this just gave me the warmest most amazing feeling ever.  I'm going to melt into nothingness because I'm so warm and fuzzy right now.  I loved this so freaking much.

And for Sam Winchester that had never been a physical place, but a person. Dean. And it didn't matter if he was three or twenty-three years old. The safest place in the world for him was curled up under Dean's arm. And for tonight, that was where he was going to stay.

Hell, that is the best paragraph ever. You flippin' skank.  Way to be amazing and take a couple of sentences Maja says to make me all sorts of jealous.

LOVE YOU DAD!

I don't even know what to say, honestly.  That description of Dean, his time in hell, the pain, suffering, torment he had to go through, you have it described in a such a painful way that makes my chest ache.  I really thought I never wanted to know what Dean had to go through in hell, though when he was describing it I couldn't look away from the screen.  I think this is a horribly beautiful depiction of that time.  

The way you have him trying to kill himself, even though he realizes he can't, the way Alistair urges him to try again.  How he gets pleasure in making Dean suffer like that, it's sick and twisted and so spot on.  

Very awesome to have Dean thinking about Sam, even in hell, wondering if he's dead or alive.  True to Dean's character, even when he's being tortured he's thinking of his brother! 

And really great ending, when Castiel comes go save Dean.  I love how the demons are screaming and scared, and Dean is enjoying it.  Finally a good feeling for the poor boy. 

Great work here.  Good, solid writing, disturbing imagery (hello, hell!) and well written description and emotions.  Thanks for a chilling read!
