Date: 08/11/08 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Hey Mal- sorry I didnt review along the way- but as with all your stories- this one kept me waiting for the next alert that you'd posted. Dwight was awesome-- great OC that was willing to help out the guys. And I loved Dean just having to go off on his own to process everything that happened. Kinda hoping ( hint hint) that maybe at some point Edith dies and the boys return to the Rose Cottage- There has to be some more mystery about the place considering its history... Date: 08/01/09 Title: Chapter 6: I Tell To You My Story YOU CANT LEAVE THAT THERE!!!!!! *rips out hair* - deep, cleansing breath, Tree... in...out... in ... out... Okay- I think I'll be alright... just hurry up and get that sequel going! I absolutely loved the way you wove what happened to Dean back in 1996 with the present... crafty... nice mix and it flowed so beautifully. Sammy's worry/greif were palpable... his silent mantra to his brother agonizing as he begs Dean to come back.... *sniffle* okay- *composes self * Are you writing yet??? LOL Author's Response: *evil snigger* would i leave you there? really? well, yes, actually, though not for long. sequel needs a few tweaks, then its off to be beta'd... That final scene was really where this whole story came from - its an image that's been kicking around my head for a while and I finally found the story to go with it! Date: 14/12/08 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 AGGGGHHHHHHH! You're leaving it there? WAIT! ( clicks back to see if I missed something) DAMN!!!! Dean in a field- obviously a haunted field- and I just know there has to be some nasty SOB spirit that won't exactly take to him being there.. and Sammy back snoozing at the B&B - Damn Sam- you know your brother left by himself never finds anything but trouble... And the freaky villagers... just waiting for them to come out with torches and pitchforks anyway - I think someone mentioned the Benders? Yeah- no doubt... and now I'm even getting vibes of Scarecrow- (Damn Dean- didnt you learn anything about apple orchards from that one?) Oh and by the way- I loved that visual- noting the remains of some old, small orchard. There were a few trees left, gnarled and twisted now with age. They hadn't been properly pruned for decades, thick sucker branch growth obscured their original form. But they still had healthy crowns of leaves, starting to speckle with brown. Yellow apples, stunted and pock-marked, hung from the branches. Having lived near Gettysburg many years ago- where apple orchards are plentiful- that brought back some very vivid memories....

Date: 16/12/08 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 ahhhhh - now there's my girl... blissful torture- waiting on an update- but still just as satisfying knowing that blood has been spilled.... ( now how demented is that?) Seriously though- I REALLY loved this line...That, and sometimes a loving relative that was thrown into the position of eat the sins or let the dead loved one go to hell --- awwww- that truly did hit sooooo close to home... and then the comment...Poor bastard. So the guy buried here was some lonely, shunned loser in life. They didn't even have the decency to write his name on his stone, for shit's sake. Yeah... think that might be bothering Dean just a bit.... As always soooo nicely done... safe travels to Nova Scotia- hurry back soon!

Date: 19/02/09 Title: Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Awesome end Mal... Great story ( of course) overall... Loved the resolution at the end- not to mention how much Dean 'aired' out during his little tirade. I think Dream A Little Dream of me gave us a brief glimpse of how he felt about his dad and Sam way down deep- but we've never really see him verbalize any of that out loud. In reality, despite his devotion to family- thoughts like that had to go through his mind... the unfairness and betrayal of it all... Thanks for being brave enough to write them - a lot of folks might think it out of character- and un-protectSammy-like for Dean... but I dont... Author's Response: Oh---how could he not feel that way--? You probably know by now that I am not a John W. fan. I don't know why I feel so strongly about him and the way the boys grew up---makes me angry just to think of it. (yes--I know---it is all fiction, get a grip) But I cringe when there are segments shown where the brothers are children, and the shabbiness and gross neglect they experienced. --makes me nuts. And there are plenty of tales out there that lionize John, so my view will have minimal effect. But I'm glad to hear that others echo my feelings regarding the brothers' upbringing.
