Laughed my ass off at even the thought of Dean watching The Notebook - good thing he didnt have his .45 handy- I imagine he would've swallowed the muzzle on that one - please tell me it was the voices in his head that made him do it ! LOL!!!! It's the cold medicine talking! Can't say I've ever seen The Notebook personally, but if it made both my macho men sons almost cry, it had to be the right choice. (Guess I need to watch it now...maybe not!) You're right about the .45, definitely would've eaten a bullet if he didn't have that damn woman in his head with him, hee hee. Come on, he's gotta have a feminine side in there somewhere, right?

Nice chap and something tells me that a simple salt and burn is never a simple salt and burn. They never are.... Hey- is Sam gonna bring back food from Popeyes from Lake Geneva for Dean????? LOL Author's Response: Yeah, 'Sam on a mission' Sam is so much better then 'whiny needy complainy pain the ass Sam' anyday. As for the salt and burn, that remains to be seen. As for the Popeye's, as much as Dean would love that, Little Sammy would never let that touch his lips, I mean after all, look how he feels about Burger King. Date: 23/03/09 Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue You mentioned this story in your email to me- and I couldnt remember if I had read it or not- So- I pleasantly DEVOURED it in one setting- realizing that I hadnt. Love Dave... nice to know that the boys dont always have to deal with folks that judge them by their rap sheet. I could really picture the guy in my head... and I must say- the way you built the tension up between Sam and Dean every time they were near each other was truly a work of art. Once I realized what was going on- I savored reading the tone of Sam's voice inch closer and closer to rabid.. And finally- my kudos for the awesome fight scene there toward the end. I love when an author constructs a fight that just plays out so well in word that it conjures up the physical. That doesnt happen very often and its one of the things I really look for - considering how often these two manage to get into fights. Thanks for mentioning this one... I loved every minute- and now I realize that there are tons more I need to catch up on. Author's Response: Hi, Tree - wow, in one sitting? That's dedication for you. Yes, I do like the occasional character who isn't trying to kill the boys or lock them up. That's the Pollyanna in me, I suppose. I have watched that brilliant fight scene in Skin over and over, making sure I get the boys' moves right. And basically, I just let the moves play out in my head, then describe what I see. Date: 12/09/08 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 I so rarely have the chance ( or admittedly take the time) to leave reviews ( I just have so darn much to read) but I have to tell you that you are one of my favorite writers right now - and this story is so far- one of my favorites- if for no other reason than you give us a wonderful glimpse into 'vulnerable' Dean. I know that people love Hurt!Dean ( yeah - so do I) but all too often its written like he's Superman- able to take a beating and just get right back up. Dude- I dont think I've ever read anyone write John so absolutely raw, his emotions, his thoughts, his dreams and drive so openly portrayed. while you certainly portray him as the flawed character I think we all know he is... you also give us a realistic glimpse into a father that loved his boys more than life itself... how else could he possibly have sacrificed himself for Dean in IMTOD if he were such a jerk as many make him out to be... Having worked with surgeons- not all of them are the ego-maniacal, callous jerks that are potrayed on TV --- many/most REALLY do "get involved" and care about the TOTAL patent. Anyway- wonderful chapter - OF COURSE! I am completely hooked and wondering if theres some insidious reason why Dean woke up the way he did there at the end... and of course- the near-grief-like emo from the doc and John is "lump-in-throat" inducing.
