 Date: 15/12/09 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Best chapter yet, I really liked this one, lots going on. Loved the fight with Dean and Ilyas, this part of Dean's thinking is, I believe asolutely spot on - Let me tell you the cost of revenge, shall I? Revenge is a father who was never around. Revenge is a child being forced into adulthood because his dad is out chasing the demon that killed his mom. Revenge is thinking you are nothing because every moment of your life you were told someone else’s needs were more important than your own. Revenge is when the brother you gave your life for can’t think of anything beyond killing the demon that sent you to hell. He can’t even see that you’re back and…” he broke off and swallowed. “Revenge bites you in the ass. Revenge never ends; it grows until everything in your life is driven by it. Revenge rips families apart, revenge drives brothers apart…” - That is exactly how Dean sees revenge, something that has cost him all his life, so sad. This whole part of the chapter was really well thought out, bringing together all the little bits already woven in the story, and pushing it forward to the conclusion. Date: 03/09/09 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 This chapter is great! So Dean recognises the hallmarks of some torture from Hell in the body, interesting to see where that goes! I love the last little exchange, I can see the guys sitting on the motel beds talking like that and I can hear their voices in my head, you write them really, really well! Mary x Author's Response: Don't you hate the scheming witch? lol I never trusted her. I always wondered how she got Sam to trust her so much he would turn on Dean. I can only surmise, since we didn't see all that much of her wheedling Sam, that it would be a series of slightly disparaging remarks about Dean and flattery toward Sam, making him feel like he was the only one who could do this thing. Sam is so much into destiny, I thought that would work. Sorry to drone on! Thanks for reading.

Date: 18/10/09 Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Hey Still loving it, the plot is gripping and the pace is just the right speed to follow and still take everything in. So Ilyas has slipped his skin, that'll make Dean's job harder! Liked the little bit with Sam not going at his brother for going off on his own and Dean instantly knowing that there would be a catch! So could see that happening. Can't wait for more, Mary xx

Date: 19/03/10 Title: Chapter 19: Chapter 19 Hey This is a great chapter, nice bit of tension going all the way through, even though I knew (hoped!) that you wouldn't really let Dean fall. Loved your Dean in this, so much snark in so few words, I think that it what adds the extra 'it' factor to this story, you've got the characters spot on! Loved it! Mary xx Author's Response: Thanks Mary! I was hard trying to write Sam as caring and getting that driven part of him as well. As Chuck said, he was afraid revealing the demon blood thing would make Sam look unsympathetic. lol So walking the line between showing Sam cared for Dean but was being pulled away and influenced by Ruby was difficult. And I know Dean got beat up a lot in the story, but he got beat to hell in S4! So I didn't feel I was too off the wall. lol Thanks so much for the comments and for reading!

Stealing Dean's line here - dude, that was awesome. I enjoyed this from the very first chapter and it just got better and better as it unfolded. This was a great end to a great story and I loved that you've built the gap back up between the boys at the end there for taking it back into the series. I think you got the boys and Bobby dead on in this, especially Dean, loved how you wrote him. The snark was just right! (I'm a Dean girl can you gues?lol) All the conversations with the boys seemed so real, I could picture this playing out in my head and I like to do that when I read, so kudos to you for that. This could easily have been an episode. A good, likeable OC in Boatright too, coming good and helping the boys fight the good fight. Definitely one that I will come back to, look forward to more when life lets you. Mary xx
Author's Response: I'm a Dean girl too, and hope that didn't stop me from being sympathetic to Sam and justifying his story. (eek!) And thanks for the comments on the "gap" still being there. Sam and Dean still love one another, but there's always that tension between them nowadays, and I had to bring it back there because of "On the Head of a Pin," which is the episode after this story is told. I can see him sitting at that desk in front of the fire writing this, reading it back and the balling up and throwing it over his shoulder straight in the flames, direct hit without even looking.
