Howdy from Texas!

I'm rather fond of grammar and spelling and words in general & I'd make a living writing if I could.

I've been writing for my own entertainment since high school (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.) Been working on a series for a long time but haven't given enough effort to finding an agent.    I'm getting better at short stories; writing the one-shots helped. I've also discovered that I can't edit myself too much or I just keep changing things & not always for the better. I have to work on letting things be; sometimes the way the words flow right at the start works so much better than any conscious editing.

Just discovered "Castle". Love Nathan Fillion; you gotta watch "Dr. Horrible" if you haven't yet.  Also like "Chuck" & "24". When I have the time, I read a lot of SciFi/Fantasy with a few mystery/thrillers thrown in.  Jim Butcher, Laurell K. Hamilton, CJ Cherryh, Jonathan Kellerman, Sue Grafton, Janet Evanovich, Weiss & Hickman, Robert Jordan, Melanie Rawn.  Several dozen others.

I'm on MySpace & Twitter (for some reason) as Renate651, but this is the only place I've posted a story.

Summary:

Gobsmacked

While the boys hunt down a pouka on the University of Illinois campus, Dean gets more than he bargained for when the chick he's trying to rescue fights back. He doesn't expect the umbrella and he sure as hell doesn't expect what happens next.

This is the second story in my Gobsmacked 'verse.  They are all listed in chronological order by clicking on the series link. ;-P

No more work needed in that regard, thanks.  Did just fine there! Not too graphic but left plenty to imagine!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I do worry about "going too far" based on the rating, so it's good to know that I'm leaving plenty to the imagination. ;-P

Summary:

The Winchester brothers drive through the Adirondacks en route to a meeting with Bobby. Ahead of schedule, they stop in a tiny Pennsylvania mountain crossroads, lured by the intrigue of a hunt. Better they should have kept driving.....

Set just post Dean's Deal. No spoilers for Season 4.

Always Falling

When Dean was sixteen, he sent that kid who beat up Sam right to the hospital. Somehow, that didn't keep him from getting into college but Dean's still picking up the pieces — and that girl who landed right at his feet just complicated things.

Great job! I was very surprised by the twist at the end & a little disappointed that "normal" Dean was just a dream! But it rocked anyway!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  This story literally wrote itself over the course of two days and it was something I've really wanted to explore.  I always considered it "complete" until someone asked me about the other main character in question, so there's a remix out there that I'm currently posting here. ;)

Gah, I'm so shameless when it comes to talking about my stories...

Summary:

the one - extended

Spoilers for season 4. Set between 4x10 and 4x11.

A string of suspicious suicides may actually be the work of a Winchester. Sam may be ready to vanquish another supernatural foe, but could it be a little too close for Dean's comfort? Could he have another agenda? One for which Sam is not ready?

Not connected to any current story arcs. As far as I know. But hey, I said that last time.

Rated T for language, some very adult situations (not graphic), and 'cos you're really really lucky, gratuitous gore. Yay!

I like the adult content. It's very well written. And your attention to detail is unreal...makes me jealous!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I always try to not be too explicit but I'm more used to the ratings used over on LJ (which uses movie ratings) versus the ones used here, so I always feel like I need to make the caveat regarding adult content.

As for the attention to detail?  All I can say is that I am a compliance manager on the work front, so I tend to get kinda of spastic about details as a general rule.  And I have this need to be as correct as possible with the mythology I'm using, so I generally do a lot of research for stories. ;)

Georgetown was the next step in the plan but her daddy was always telling her that life could turn on a dime. If the trick was learning how to dance, she had really screwed it up by tripping over that boy who bussed tables in the New South Dorm cafeteria.
