Thanks so much for that. And no, years of growing up with and fighting alongside his brother has given Dean some sort of inbuilt radar as far as Sam is concerned - like in BUABS when he knew it couldn't be Sam doing those things, and he was right.....Jules Summary:

Rozzy07 and Sendintheclowns are the only ones until now that I have found to deal with this time period so I was so happy when you posted this! I've already rec'd it at Storyfinders! Great stuff here- loved it! Gidget Author's Response: Thank you so much for that, hon. And for the recommendation - wow. Actually, the awesome GaelicSpirit has one dealing with this time period too, and it's utterly brilliant, as all of her work is. I can't remember the name of it - Fix Me or Fixing Me or something like that, but it's on her LiveJournal page. It's well worth a look. And yes, there was so much more going on with the boys than they had time for on the screen. It was such a bad time for them both - mired in grief, and in Dean's case, scared of the burden that John had laid on his shoulders. But then, that just gives us as fanfic writers lots of good stuff to play in, doesn't it? LOL......Jules Summary:

I've tackled this subject myself and it hard to put yourself in the mind of the hunter after Sam- but it's not hard to understand their motives. This was such a thrill ride girl- loved it! Gidget Author's Response: Thanks Claudia, I hated Hunted - not because it was a bad episode, but because Gordon went after Sam - and for what he said to the kid just before he tried to stab him after he beat the crap out of him. It was a fantastic eppy, but that line of Gordon's about Sam being no better than the filthy things they hunt just got to me on such a deep level. So having hunters after Sam scares me too. But I couldn't help wonder whether that pair would have given up so easily after BDABR. So happy that you loved this....Jules Summary:

Date: 21/01/09 Title: Chapter 6: Epilogue Wow, you can tell this one came from the heart girl! This period of Sam's life is such a mystery as to how it played out, and it's nice to have the mystery taken away. Maya Perez did a great story - Of Grief and Guilt -also about this time period and both of you captured the raw emotions so well. So now when people request a story dealing with this time period- and that comes up a lot- I have two excellent stories to recommend! :0) Gidget Author's Response: Hi, Claudia, Wow, thank you - seriously. I'm surprised that there aren't more stories out there dealing with the missing week. I know it was an itch that I wanted to scratch for a long time. It's good to know that I hit it right. Grief is such a strange thing - it affects people in different ways. And I watched Sam very carefully at the end of the Pilot and in Wendigo, and saw that brittle anger, so that's what I tapped into for this story. Thanks so much for reviewing - reviews are gold....Jules Summary:

Plus the end- with Dean singing to his brother? priceless! :0) Gidget Author's Response: Thanks for that, Claudia. I really liked the idea of the symmetry of this, and I very carefully tied the two hunts together for that reason. Oh, and can you just imagine the pained look on Sam's face at the end when Dean starts singing? I had that song planned right from the start of the story for just that purpose - lol. The brotherly banter- fears and women!~ I also love that big brother did get Sam to loosen up a bit at the end! :0) Gidget Author's Response: Thanks, Claudia. I needed a break from the season 4 angst, and this was it. And I've always been curious to see what the boys do when they're not hunting. There are so many little scenes that we don't see on the screen, but that we wished we did see. You catch hints of it, so I just let my imagination do the rest. I'm glad I decided to make sure - I really enjoyed it and the original character you created- Grace. I very much enjoyed Grace's pov of the boys. Another reason I'm very glad I decided to give it a read.... I took on Here At The End Of All Things as my vacation read this week. I was happily surprised to see Grace make an appearance in that story as well.
:) Claudia Author's Response: Hey, Claudia, Thanks so much for that. Writing from an outsider's point of view really allows me to explore the boys' personalities from a fresh perspective, so it's actually a bit of a fun journey, picturing what someone would think of the Winchesters when meeting them for the first time. And yeah, I was a little bit proud of the way Grace turned out. The brother thing with her and Ben sort of mirroring Dean and Sam just happened in the natural progression of the story, and gave me a great platform for the boys to do that whole "we're not really talking about that" scenario. Yep, Grace has quite an important role in Here At - oh, and you took it on holidays with you? Man, that's a big chunk of story.... Take care, Jules Summary:

Wonderful story- loved the angst and brotherly bonding that took place! :0) Oh- thank you, Claudia! That's really so good of you to do that. This was something that I needed after episode 10 - I felt there was a lot more to say, especially on Sam's part, but he just didn't know what to do in the face of such a horrific revelation. So I figured it would prey on Sam's mind so much that when he got bonked on the head, his thoughts would zero in on Dean's time in Hell, because that was what he had been fixated on. So glad you liked all the little brotherly moments. And thank you again for recommending this. Jules Summary:

So glad I did because once I started reading it- it was hard to put it down! So I'm on my vacation week with the kids and as they played at the pool, I'm was buried in such angst!- but loving every minute of it. Live Journal has a SPN Big Bang, and this has to be your big bang- and you both should be so proud. It is such a great story and told in such detail and it keeps the boys in character through out. I know it took over your lives a bit but I'm so glad you shared it with us- the readers. Thanks for the amazing ride! :) Claudia Author's Response: Hey, Claudia, Oh, my gosh - you did it! That was a mammoth undertaking. And even for us, it was a monster of a story, the way it just kept growing and growing, exceeding even our own estimations. Petra, Sarah and I actually had a little wager going - how many words was the story going to end up being. Petra won - but then, as we started getting into chapter thirteen and fourteen, she changed her original prediction - LOL. And you're right - this was our "Big Bang". It took hours upon hours of research, writing, discussion, correction, hundreds - and I do mean hundreds - of emails back and forth, and I actually wore the print off three keys on my computer keyboard - and I think I killed a mouse in there somewhere, too. But it was worth it to get feedback like this, and to know that we transported you on this journey right alongside the Winchester brothers. Thank you for coming on this ride, hun. Jules Summary:

I didn't even notice that little line much when I read Joyride, but Sue glommed onto it, and she actually contacted Katalin and asked her if she was going to do any more with it. I'm a big Bon Jovi fan as well, and hearing that song, which I happen to love, always gives me goosebumps now. We - Cookie6 and myself - actually used the song in Here At as well, playing on a jukebox in a bar to give poor Sammy a really bad moment. I just thought that with Sam feeling things as deeply as he does, and taking everything to heart, he'd not be able to listen to that song without falling apart in the weeks following Dean's death. Or for a long time, actually. I remember my grandmother shedding a few tears without fail, every time her late sister's favourite song played on the radio, even years after Auntie Von's death. You put them on quite the adventure and I enjoyed every minute of it. :) Claudia Oh, gosh, you must have loved it - you left me two reviews - lol. Seriously, thank you, Claudia. This was one of those stories that just flowed, especially once I found my monster. I emailed my beta and asked her to find me a snow creature that hadn't been used a thousand times already, and she actually came across the Yuki Onna. She also helped me out with the snow - we don't get snow in Brisbane, we're too far north for it to get that cold. I have seen snow, but way down south and only twice in my entire life, so I had no idea what the woods would sound like, etc. Lucky for me I have an exceptional beta who perfectly described for me the whole walking through snowy woods experience.
