Sam was also sounding a little congested--a squeaky sound coming from his little nostrils every time he breathed out. God, it was adorable. They were so screwed. Takes place in Season 3. Complete!

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Man in the Mirror Loved the exchanges between the boys - and Sam's deadly aim with a pillow.... Chuckled out loud when Sammy fell off the bed - could just imagine that startled little squeak just before he hit the floor. Wonder what's on that tee shirt? And trust the boys to not only stumble on a more powerful creature than they'd planned for, but sounds like the very location is cursed somehow as well. Nothing simple for the Winchesters. LOL. Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3: It ain't easy being a kid Oh, gosh, Sam got taken out by Lassie - ROFL!!! Can just imagine Dean's amusement as he took the picture. Oh, and loved the tee shirt slogans - "Big Kid Under Construction" - lol. Could really feel Sam's shock at seeing his four-year-old self in the mirror. And that fever seems to be a bit ominous - coming and going like it is. Really touching moment when Sam decided that his brother's warmth and protection was far more preferable than the loss of his dignity - that was so sweet. But then we get the scary bit - Sam's mind looks like it hasn't escaped the spell after all by the sounds of it. This is going to be a bumpy ride.... Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter Four: The boy inside the child Aww, that was so sad, especially when little Sammy told Dean that it hurt in his heart when he'd seen his brother die. And then for Sam to come back to himself and remember the Trickster's cruel time loop, and stay in the comforting circle of his big brother's arms just so he could hold on for a little while longer.....*reaches for tissues*..... But what is Sam planning? It doesn't sound good.....what's going on in that stubborn Winchester mind? Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Innocence Lost Oh, goodness....what did he do? And did he complete whatever his task was before Dean kicked the door down? Oh my gosh..... Loved how Sam proved to Dean that he could defend himself - the wrestling match that ended in a tickling match was just such a sweet brotherly moment. But there was a darker motive behind it after all - Sam needed to be out from under Dean's watchful eye to carry out his self-imposed mission. Scary stuff - just what did he have planned? Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6 "Their hearts just didn't know how to beat on their own." That was a beautiful line. And so accurately summed up the brothers. This was heartbreakingly sad, but beautifully written. Dean and Bobby's anguish, Sammy's fear and instant calm when Dean picked him up, the fact that both elder hunters missed Sam so much, the desperate fight to get him back - I was fighting off tears most of the way through. I love the inclusion of Missouri Mosely - let's hope that she really can help, and give Dean some peace. And hope. Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Oh. My. Gosh. Little Sammy is fighting against Sam? In that tiny body? As well as the hobyah's spell? Oh. My. Gosh.......didn't see that one coming at all. Can understand the hunters completely freaking out when Sam screamed and didn't stop. And I could clearly see the scene in the aftermath - Dean frantically pacing, Bobby shaken to the core and cradling Sammy, Missouri looking worried as hell. Hell of a chapter - hell of a story. Reading on - can't stop now........ Jules

Date: 03/02/10 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 It's just so gorgeous how Sammy finds his way to Dean and curls into his lap, always heading for that place of safety. Some beautiful brotherly moments there, but bittersweet given the circumstances. So poignantly sad, too, the favourite book and reading thereof, followed by the obligatory goodnights. Hopefully they can find this creature, and fast, before Sam loses the fight. Jules

So I could feel every single molecule of Dean's pain. And at the same time I could feel Sam's desperation and despair. This was a hard one to read - I'm so caught up in this story it's unbelievable. It's past my bedtime, I've got an early start to work in the morning but I can't log off until I find out what's going to happen next. Jules

Love the "cuddle bug" reference thrown in every now and then - that's so sweet, and conjures up such a cute image of a four-year-old Sam. Drop-dead adorable. Missouri's view and thoughts of the boys standing on the hill was heartwrenching. As was the way they were clinging so desperately to each other. And now you've brought the ceiling down on them?...and there's no more for me to read.....*flails hands in horror*...... Come back!!!! Update!!!!! *uses own puppy dog eyes to beg and plead* Jules Author's Response: Hi Jules! Oh noes! Not the puppy eyes! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful reviews! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Sorry it hit too close to home :( The next chapter won't take as long to post as the last. Only a couple more to go! Thank you SO much again! Summary:

That whole thing with John getting to the bottom of things and having to work backward was just hilarious. And the real kicker was getting to the very first prank and finding out it wasn't Sam or Dean, but John himself pranking his own sons - ROFL. *wipes tears from eyes* Thank you for that - oh, and have you considered a follow-up - just so we can have a sneak peek at what the boys do to John? Or are such things best left to the imagination.... Thanks for a great read. Jules Summary:

Date: 08/09/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 I read this up at your place on the weekend and loved it. Love the thought that Dean got Sam without even trying, by ramping up his paranoia till he just about blew a gasket in the diner. Could imagine Sam waving his hand in the toilet before each pee, checking clothes, doors, condiment containers, etc with frantic obsession. And slowly going mad when he couldn't find anything. The anticipation leading to sheer desperation was brilliant. And only to get Sam at the very end with two minutes to spare on an April Fool's joke with the help of the waitress - that was evil genius. Loved it, Petra. Thanks for sharing. Jules Author's Response: Thanks heaps Jules, praise from such an accomplished writer such as yourself is very special. Praise because you are a friend makes it a double-mint treat. I'm loving your "evil genius" and "brilliant" comments in relation to my ideas!! Yep, Sam driving himself insane with his memories and suspicions was fun, much as I love Sammy. But Dean setting him up was just too temping to ignore. And our weekend was an absolute blast!

Date: 08/09/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 'Beelzebug' and the Bible Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you for making John fall through the floor and land on his sorry arse! "Asscident" - I'm snickering away and the cat's giving me really strange looks, but I don't care.... I love how you turned the story around - man, that mobile home was gross! I could visualise the cobwebs and the creeping mould on the walls - yuck! And poor Dean - the final straw was a busted telly to go with the busted house. Good for Sammy coming up with a way to make his brother laugh. And I adored that moment when John sneaked in and saw the boys talking and laughing - "Reintarnation" was awesome. At least he did go out and let his sons be kids for a little while longer - and I could just picture his face at that little soft voice - “Fell through the floor…? Got a dented ass…? Guess that makes it an ‘Asscident.’…huh.” Wonderful stuff. And I could also picture Dean almost turning himself inside out trying not to laugh at his dad. Love your work. I really need to come back to the site a bit more - I've really only been doing a once-per-week hit and run of my own stuff for a long time now. But after spending the weekend with Petra and getting the scoop on some really good writers - including you - I realised I need to catch up on my reading and not be such a hermit. Thank you so much for sharing this. Jules Summary: Sam: Dean I told you, you should eat more salad!

Date: 24/10/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Well, I started this story not being very fond of sausages, even though the butcher down the road has won a few awards with theirs.....now I REALLY don't like sausages - LOL. Erk, no wonder Dean threw up. And how freaky was that - all those people eating the poor drunk son and then turning up on his dad's doorstep? Loved Sam's solution to get Dean to drink the bicarb and burp out the spirit. Cremation of possessed sausages - lol. Oh, dear - sticking with cereal for brekky from now on.... Jules Author's Response: Being my very first story here, thought I'd go for the gore!! lol I'm sorry I've put you off sausages even more...:) Thank you for your review Jacq Summary:

It's obviously the same thing that has taken the other victims, probably latching onto Sam's psychic abilities like a child with the world's biggest lollipop. This is so not good....the situation, not the story, Cal. And if this is only chapter one, we're in for a hell of a rough ride before the guys figure it out. Jules Author's Response: haha, what a wonderful image, Sam's abilities as a humungous lollipop! (wonder what flavour it'd be...) Glad you're enjoying it - and yeah, there's a pretty rough ride ahead! Date: 09/09/10 Title: Chapter 3: The End of the Light Sam's reaction to the bruises on Dean's body were heartbreaking - how shattered did he feel, knowing his physical body did the damage, but unable to remember a single second of it, and helpless to stop what he couldn't even detect was controlling him? And Dean, see-sawing between needing to have his brother close, and not being able to look Sam in the eyes or say his name because of the feelings and memories it invoked. So, Dean's told Sam now what John said - and Sam's completely rocked by the news. And with whatever's going on in town with the entity that's controlling Sam, that's just doubled the burden on both brothers. Things are looking grim indeed...... Jules

Did not see that coming - one of the special kids doing the killing, and setting up things for the boys to kill each other at the end. OMG!!!!!! Azazel's manipulation. Part of his grand plan to make sure Sam really is the chosen one? Hopefully Sam can break free....soon..... Heart-stopping end to a chapter...geez, and they say I do evil cliffies...*rolls eyes* Think I need a wee break and a scotch bracer before going into the next chapter. Jules Author's Response: Ha, yes, scotch is a good accompaniment to this one! I really wanted the 'truth' behind what's going on to be a surprise, so I'm very glad you didn't guess it before hand! And I'm especially glad you liked the way Dean revealed what John told him in the last chapter - that was the one bit that I angsted over, non-stop for bloody ages. I must've re-written it a half-dozen times before I was more or less happy with it! Enjoy the bracer, and the next chapter! Cal

That was.....intense....and it looks like Travis' powers are melting his brain, going by that bleed in his eye. I really hope the gun was aimed at Travis.... Jules

Date: 20/09/10 Title: Chapter 6: A Picture of Blood and Shadow: part II Thank heavens it was Travis. Chilling to think of the demon dogging their steps so closely and none of the Winchesters, not even John, being aware of it. And how horrible that Dean thought that by killing Travis, he'd killed Sam as well. Can understand his struggle - he'd promised both his dad and Sam, and he couldn't keep both. My money is on him keeping his promise to Sam, to save him. Because Sam's right - he always does. Thanks for sharing this, Cal. Jules Author's Response: Heh, would I have him shoot Sam? Really? (Actually, yeah, I really would. Hmm...) I still love season two, and the quandry Dean's put in - those two promises that are in such conflict - is wonderful food for the plotbunnies! It's kind of weird, looking back on this story after the last couple of seasons, wondering how it relates to those promises for Dean and the Winchesters. Thanks for the reviews! I always love knowing what you think! Cal Summary: Even doing the laundry sometimes has its hazardous side!

LOL Loved how the boys were trying to push the blame onto each other, with Sam getting the last laugh for a change over his Barry Manilow dig. Poor Dean! He gets into so much trouble. Jules Author's Response: Thank you for the review, honestly I never even thought of having the soap bubble man running around! That would have been really funny ..., oh dear :(, I think I was nervous about over doing the story at that time. Jacq Summary: Happy Birthday, Sam Winchester. Man, I wish that this version of Sam's birthday had happened instead of what Kripke planned for him - getting to watch his brother ripped to shreds.....happy birthday, Sammy...*cries*.... I love the imagery - the balloons, and those gifts - uniquely Dean, all of them, right down to the earrings. Date: 21/12/09 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 'Sam never felt the hand that reached over to guide his head out of the awkward position he'd slumped into. He never saw the tears that slipped down his brother's face.' I KNEW IT!!!! I knew it had to be something influencing Dean! He loves his brother too much to do that to him just out of anger and grief. So glad they worked together to defeat Chelsea - or whatever she was. But oh, the aftermath - and Sam's fear first making him sick then sending him into a panic attack. What is wrong with Dean? Good thing they're headed for Bobby's place - but why is Dean leaving? He needs to stay and work things out with Sam, and fight whatever this is. Heartwrenching final words there - The youngest son of John and Mary Winchester did not break. He shattered. How true. This had to be the final straw that pushed Sam over the edge. They need to talk, and Bobby needs to get to the bottom of what's happening between the brothers before it's too late. Hope you can update soon. I can't wait to see where this is going. Jules

Date: 21/12/09 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 So Chelsea just confirmed it - Sam and Dean somehow created the town and everyone in it. Doesn't explain why they only want Sam to leave - unless it has something to do with his psychic abilities. And the fact that he dismantled that barrier long enough to get through. Perhaps he has the power to dismantle the town, too? So they must be feeding off Dean in some way to keep their own existence going. And what happened to Bobby? I can't believe that Sam dreamed the whole thing - Bobby had to have been there. Did they send him back home or something worse...? Jules Author's Response: thank you for all of your reviews. i realized that there were a few plot holes in the last few chapters. like chelsea and the towns people were feeding off Dean's rage and had to keep him in order to maintain the town and the people and that they felt for Sam so they didn't need him. i never quite explained that very well. i actually wasn't going to continue but maybe i will now. once again thanks for the reviews. leah

Date: 21/12/09 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Formatting is a cow - I struggled with it at first, too. Took me awhile and a few handy hints from the admins to get it right. Poor Sam - my heart aches for him and how he's been hurt. And now he's nervous of Bobby too. How much more can he take before, as Bobby suspects, he breaks completely? Forgot to mention before - those time gaps Sam is experiencing are a bit worrying. And he and Dean made the town appear?? I'm definitely intrigued. Is their bond or their grief somehow feeding the entity and making it stronger? And is that why they wanted to keep Dean and not Sam? Or does Sam hold the key to defeating them - or it? Jules

Date: 21/12/09 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Yep, Bobby agrees with me - that can't be Dean. Poor Sam is almost at the end of his rope. Glad he called Bobby, though, for backup. If anyone can help, it's him. Glad, though, that Bobby saw one of Sam's nightmares and put two and two together - at least now he's got a better idea of what he's up against. There must be a way to get through that barrier - hopefully the entity that's keeping it in place might tire, and let its guard down long enough for the hunters to get inside and rescue Dean. Jules |
