Date: 24/05/08 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Epilogue Wonderful story! Love the idea of Jessica and Dean having met before, and the story fits so well with what we know about the boys - of course Dean would come running once he knew Sam had been hurt! And of course he would be the one able to calm Sam down when he woke up and started fighting the tube. Also love how John went there too and killed the guy before Dean could - and how you tie that in with his first experience of killing a human being. Makes total sense that he would try to protect his boys from that - and that idea is a little heartbreaking, knowing how many people Dean (and Sam) have had to kill later on. Poor Sam, starting to 'fade' from himself (that scene with the fork was so creepy - not to mention those ravens!) - and wow, didn't see the last part coming - holding on to the thought that you don't do death fics! Date: 30/01/08 Title: Chapter 5: The Once and Future King Wow, what an amazing chapter! Your descriptions are so vivid, I can picture everything in my head! I especially love your representation of Sam's interaction with the horses, they're so realistic but so creepy since those horses are skeletal! And your description of what Sam feels and how he shifts between being himself and being the next king is amazing, the joy and fear both existing - and fighting - in him at the same time! And I held my breath when they were at the altar, I was praying that he'd manage to stop himself from killing the king, but then someone - the priestess perhaps? - pushed him and made him do it anyway - almost made me scream! And Dean being there and holding him in his arms when he finally 'fades' *sniff* - so heartbreaking!!! Can't wait to see how Dean manages to get them out of this - especially since he's now also starting to become one of the hunt. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter! Date: 02/02/08 Title: Chapter 1: Low Down Uh. Trying to figure out something coherent to say after this. (Once I'm done sniffing and wiping away tears, that is). This was a brilliant, insightful, heartbreaking piece. Very well written, the boys were in character and your dialogue was spot on - I could hear their voices in my head while reading. I love how Sam finally manages to get through to Dean how much he means to him - that he can't go on without him (LOVE how you use the short exchange of lines from the Pilot). Sometimes Dean needs to be smacked a little (metaphorically speaking) to really listen to what Sam says to him, and that long speech of Sam's does the job perfectly. And oh, the hug. *sniff* Perfect ending. Great job. Looking forward to reading more from you (altough I better go buy more tissues if it's all this powerful). Date: 27/02/08 Title: Chapter 1: Another Three Months *happy sigh* awww that final scene. Lovely brotherly moment. And *grins* 'you were hallucinating this entire time' LOL - yep, Dean, as if you didn't need that contact as much as Dean does. Brilliant tag, along with your other one. The thought that Sam would just take care of his own injuries after having done so in those three months is so very realistic, because even though the Trickster turned back the time, those events - and what Sam did during those months - would still live very vividly in his memory. He'd be a changed man after it, which you show very well! And at the same time you have that brotherly love and trust in Dean shining through, which is at the core of Sam's being. Another awesome chapter, love the conversation between the boys, and especially how Dean tries to hide things from Sam but Sam so clearly sees right through him. You really know how to wring our hearts, don't you? Another wonderful, very powerful chapter. Love how you portray what Dean's going through, and how you counterpoint that with humourous bits like the professor (he's awesome - and YAY for Sir Dennis :D). And I love how you're covering all bases, so to speak - both having the medical angle in the story, with Leo, and having Sam do research in the way we know and love. Love how you take us through different emotions, from starting with having us in tears (LOVE this: I’m only letting you get away with the hug ’cause I might be dying. Yeah, right. Who do you think you’re fooling, genius? “You, too, Sammy. I…Sam…I…” Dean’s eyes closed against his will. He tried to get everything into a few last words. “Yeah, Dean, me too,” Sam said. Dean thought he felt something against his head, then there was dark, empty silence.) to having us laugh out loud at the setting being Stonehenge (reminding us of the song used in Simon Said) and then that awesome battle between Dean and the Ripper, ending with (cheating) Ripper choosing Back in Black... Can it be any more awesome??? And then OMG it wasn't the shop keeper after all? But he sees teh boxes differently... Hmm wonder who - or what - he really is? But now, Sam, hurry, save Dean! And Dean - keep playing your best, you can kick his a**!!! By the way, also love the scene where Dean's being asked what 'game' he wants to play, so very vivid - brilliant writing! This was hilarious while at the same time you manage to include a dose of hurt (and eeeep that description of his toe... *shudders* and *hugs* it happened to you???) Love Grandma Opal - would love to see her come back in another story! I love the thought that the boys have someone like that in their life , someone who'll take care of them once in a while, and someone who have known them all their lives - someone they have a history with, if that makes sense. Love how you start out from John's point of view, the way he talks to Mary is so heartbreaking! Again in this story you manage to make us smile through our heartbreak, wtih Dean and Sam zooming through the hospital - brilliant writing. It's so John, saving his gentleness and kind words until his boys are sleeping, and being proud of them in spite of his slight anger that they disobeyed his order to stay away.
