Date: 13/12/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 I really liked that. I liked the contrast between the memory and the present. I also loved that Dean in both of them was so caring for his brother. I've helped with suturing before and can't imagine doing it on someone I know. Another great story. Author's Response: Thank you so much! Suturing someone you love, how hard is that? I seem to enjoy moving between their younger and older selves. It gives me a better grasp on them as I write. Summary:

 Date: 11/01/08 Title: Chapter 6: Epilogue Loved it. I guessed pretty early that it was Sam - the height and the hair did it for me. The coffee was too subtle and kept switching for me to use it as a clue. I was too chicken to put my guess in writing because I didn't want to be wrong. :) I really loved this story. I love anything with a little psychology in it. I also loved the Aussie slang. I lived in Britain for four years and miss the language so much (I know a world of difference between Aussie and Brit BUT there are a lot of similarities the only one you got me on was Donk and I LOVED that because Dean would so look down on that one). Thanks for a great read and entertaining story - one of the best. Author's Response: Well done for guessing - I tried to keep it as vague as possible, but there were a few clues scattered around - good for you picking them up. I'll have to make sure the next twisty one is even more twisty...LOL. Ahh, the donk - that was another last minute addition - at the suggestion of my aunt. It was her brother that Kayla's uncle was based on, and my uncle did own all those cars, and many more. And he did like a big, well-tuned donk. If he'd been still alive when SN started, he would have fallen in love with Metallicar. And yes, Aussies and Poms are pretty similar in speech - my beta is actually a Pom, and a damned good friend. Date: 30/05/08 Title: Chapter 32: Chapter 32 Almost had him. But, he's breaking. I gotta tell you, I hate this process. It's very much a military thing and I've seen it done first had. It's a gross way to treat people and it irritates that heck out of me. I know why you're doing it though, I just hate the reality of it. It works in this story and is very well written. I admire that you're not allowing a quick fix because in the context of this story, this would never be fixed quickly. Thanks for a great read. Summary:

I wonder if I’m a monster; not the kind we hunt, but the kind that people read about or see in a movie and wonder how a person could be so wrong. I think that maybe I’m the kind of father that children grow up determined not to be, that daughters are frightened of and sons are shut down by and wives are ashamed of. I keep my eyes facing forward as I search intently for the black van I know carries my youngest son, and I wonder how my oldest can stand to know my blood runs in his veins. I wonder how either of my boys can bear to love me.... I doubt anyone has ever had a New Year's Eve worse than this one.
