Demon-hunting 101! LOL! Really enjoyed this chapter, I'm reading on.

Wow, that was a knock out. Poor Dean. In the show, it really does seem as though he has been invisible for John and Sam for a lot of his life. And you have expanded on that idea so well here. Loved this part:

 Sometimes I think playing the Good Little Soldier wasn’t what he wanted. I always, always tried to do what he wanted. But once I made myself into what I thought he wanted me to be, I don’t think he could see me any more. Like I was just an extension of himself, an extra couple of hands; an extra pair of eyes. Someone to hold the Holy Water or the axe or sometimes just the flashlight.

Again, poor Dean - and great work! Thanks. 

This was gorgeous and lots of fun. It would be nice to think that they did get happy moments like this some time. Loved this line:

“Hey, don’t turn girlie on me, dude! We can’t have a wuss and a guy in glasses out there spook hunting!” LOL.

Considering the why of John's death - not just the fact of it - it wouldn't have been at all surprising if Dean had reacted this way. He would be  so tormented by the idea that his dad may have made a deal with the demon, it would make Miller Time seem like a perfectly acceptable response. I'm glad Sam didn't just leave him to it!  Great work!

This is a beautiful, poetic piece. I don't like to contemplate the death of Dean Winchester - he is such a big,damn hero it is certainly on the cards that he'll wind up sacrificing himself somehow!- but I couldn't stop reading this. Thank you.

I have been anxiously checking for this next chapter every day - and it was worth the wait. I love going along for the ride, and so I don't usually waste any time thinking about how an author will develop a story line. But this time I thought "Sam will have to call Caleb, he'll have to call Caleb' - and he did! I was absurdly pleased with myself, but I'm not doing any more thinking. I'm handing control back to you, because you do it so well. This was great Terry, you have the boys true to life. Can't wait for the next instalment. No. I mean I really can't wait. No pressure!

This is awesome Terry. Truly, the whole story is. I love it that  Sam is starting to see that he might not be the only one who has serious unresolved issues with their father. And that during the time he was away from Dean there were events that have contributed to the way Dean is right now. I also love it that you don't stint on the details of injuries or illness, showing the moments when the boys need to care for each other - moments that we will probably never get on the show -at least not to that extent. I am a big fan of  Dean-centric stories, (is that stating the obvious?) but I think you have written Sam very sympathetically in this one. I feel for him.

You can stop worrying about the ending: there is no way it's going to be a bust. And you are forgiven for the short chapter, as long as the next one/s are LONG -and here before I die of suspense!  Many thanks.

I have been so desperate to get back to this story, but horrendous-computer-malfunction-resulting-in-hideously-expensive-purchase-of new-computer prevented me. What a nice surprise - to finally arrive back here and have 3 whole chapters to catch up on!

I love this chapter. Sam digging his finger into Dean's ear, getting progressively more frantic about him - I just lap it up! And I don't think I'm the only one. Terrific job, on to chapter 10!

Awesome finale. Have I ever mentioned that you write about vomiting very well? Poor Sam, I'd have lost it too. And you had probably mentioned it earlier but, Dean got shot twice??! I thought that he probably had a bullet in him, and that was causing his illness, but I didn't see the twist coming. Caleb is a good friend, but damn you John Winchester!

I am looking forward to the VS Terry, and know you and the team will do a bang-up job with it, but I will really miss you on these pages. Try to get back here occasionally. I seriously love your work! Many, many, many thanks.

I forgot to mention that I loved the chapter titles for Chipping Away, particularly "All I can stand" and "And the rain came down" They really added something to the story.

You don't see any postings for me because I haven't written any! It's a funny thing, because I have always really enjoyed the stories I have told myself in my head, (that sounds kind of nutty, but maybe you know what I mean?) but it had never occurred to me to actually commit them to paper (or the world wide web) Maybe one day.  Thank goodness it did occur to people like you!

Wow, this was your first piece? No wonder you kept going! As a summary of Dean Winchester this is just brilliant, because you show him as an amazing warrior - but definitely not an unfeeling robot. And that's a fatally attractive combination. Great work, as always.

Oh Terry, you better believe it - Moonstar is beautiful too! Sam's heart twisting when he sees possessed-Dean's tears, Sam clenching his teeth all through stitching up Dean's hand, Dean putting all his bloody clothes back on, Dean scrubbing himself clean in the rain - I need a better word than beautiful! Sublime?

Aw...you're so nice, can you be my new best friend? I have good qualities in a best friend, I'm clean, thrifty, bloodthirsty, violent if the need arises and scary on request. I also make good muffins! You'd get used to me...everyone does.

That's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me! What the hell would I write??? I am paralysed by just the thought of it! And reading brilliant writing like yours and others on this site - while incredibly stimulating and loads of fun - gives me a crisis of confidence! But I guess if I was ever going to write about anyone or anything, it would be about the wonderful Winchester brothers. In the meantime, I'm hanging out for more work from you - whether here, or on the virtual season!
