 Date: 08/04/07 Title: Chapter 14: Abandon All Hope What a powerful chapter! But what a truly evil cliffy - please tell me that the next chapter will be up soooon! I couldn't "put this one down". I love what you are doing with the connection between Sam and Dean. Bobby and Joshua make a great team too. Thank you, lam! I know...I hate when I get left with a cliffhanger in other writers' work, and then I go and pull one. This chapter just got soooo long and then I wasn't even done with what I had wanted to capture in this...so chapter 15 will be long as well. I hope the wait won't be so long. Date: 30/05/07 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Bobby Thanks so much for this wonderful "series". And big, big thanks for bringing "Uncle" Bobby into the mix. I always loved his character, but the scene with Dean in AHBL2 just blew me away. Jim Beaver totally knocked it out of the park. Bobby will always be the honorary-Winchester for me - a dubious honour perhaps.... Thanks so much for the wonderful review and the five star rating. I totally fell in love with Bobby during that scene with Dean. He is part of the family and I will hunt down Kripke myself if he lets anything happen to Bobby! Date: 07/02/07 Title: Chapter 1: Part 1 of 1 Thank you so much for writing this missing scene. I am also convinced that Dean had to have seen his Mom die. This also opens up the interesting thought that Dean is the only one to really have seen Mary AND Jess die... It also really bugged me when Sam brushed off Dean. I can't speak to losing a sibling, but when a parent dies (my Dad died several years ago) it leaves a hole that is different than other losses. Not to mention how much Dean has lost in looking after Sam and his Dad for all of these years... Summary:
The brother's strengths are tested when they are confronted by both a supernatural threat... and a human one. Date: 09/02/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 I was so happy to see you had a new story up! I just "discovered" the first two Brenna stories. I generally don't like new characters to the Supernatural universe, but you have done a fabulous job with her. Not surprising, of course, because all of your characterizations are bang on. I love what you do with the boys and the detail with which you do it. I too loved the dryer scene, and I've been imagining Dean sleeping fitfully with one eye open ever since Sammy went AWOL. I love what you've done with Sam's character too. I think you're absolutely right that the new, darker Sam is a result of his loss of innocence and you capture it beautifully. Looking forward to the next chapter (s)..... *grins* Thanks so much. I'm glad you're enjoying it and I hope you like the rest. I'm challenging myself writing the boys in Season 2 -- they alternately blow me away and gut me with their reactions to what has happened to them. Date: 27/02/07 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Wow! As always, a fabulous chapter. Keep flexing those authorial muscles - love the differing POVs. While I am about as patient as Dean, your chapters are always worth waiting for, especially for the details. I love how you are slowly bringing Dean's "coma" memories back and how he is paranoid about Sammy leaving again - all things I'm missing from the show. I miss them from the show, too! I keep hoping Dean will remember something... just like I'm hoping that they'll have Sam remember more from the possession... but who knows. I'm just glad you like the way the story is unfolding. Date: 11/03/07 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6 What a great chapter! I've been away at a conference all weekend, and it was a great surprise to find your next chapter waiting for me and for a much needed fix! You are definitely putting the tension screws to us with this one... I loved how you handled Dean's fever episode, so we have the same time disorientation as he does. I'm thinking that Jack is going to be a "terrific" villain. Am I on the right track in assuming that Declan was protecting the boys from him when he told John not to bring the boys? The name Jack holds any number of implications - there is Dean's favourite actor, of course - but are you potentially playing on the interchangeable Jack/John? As always, if you need to do more than 8 chapters, I'm more than willing to keep reading... My, I am greedy, especially when you give us such long and juicy chapters - Thanks!!! To quote another movie... Greed is good. ;) I like your introspection on Jack's name. I had thought of both of those scenerio's and a couple more when thinking what to name this character -- made me grin to see you thinking along the same lines. Jack isn't intended to be similar to John, but he was a player in Dean's and John's past and yes, you are right in thinking that it was Declan's way of trying to protect the boys by telling John not to send them. Declan knew about Jack's history with John. All this and more to be revealed in Chapters 7 and 8. I hope you stick around to the end -- I'd love to see what you think. GS

Date: 19/03/07 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Wow - how can every chapter be better than the last one? When Sam found Dean in the cabin, I thought that my heart would break. I must admit, I had no idea how Sam was going to bring Dean back without Sam using Sam, himself. As soon as he said "Dad wants you to pick up where he left off..." - I thought, of course, perfect! For me that is Dean's destiny - to save everyone, including Sammy and himself. And thank you for including a scene that I have been waiting for in the show because it seems so obvious. Sam is full of faith in everything except himself. For me, it makes sense that Sam is the one in control of his own destiny and he can choose not to go darkside - his destiny is his own. I am really looking for to meeting Iggy and hearing a little "Lust for Life"! Thank you for a superbly written story. Author's Response: Thank YOU for such a satisfying review. I always post with my heart in my throat, and am so relieved and happy when I see that you like the chapter. I really do think that Dean has a bigger purpose in life than to simply save his brother, but I don't think he sees his worth beyond Sam at the moment. I think he will, but I think he's a bit clouded. However, I do envy him just a bit. I mean, how many of us have at one time or another examined why we are here? Date: 29/03/07 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 This story just has so many great moments its impossible to list all of them. I've been re-reading the previous chapters while waiting for this one, and I will continue to re-read this one and your previous stories while waiting for your next posting. I am looking forward to the new Virtual Season even more knowing that you will be contributing to the great work there. First off, thanks for the tatoo! As usual, I am in complete agreement with where you have Dean's head at. He is totally a live in the moment, keep moving, react first, and think later - if you really have to - kind of guy. Which makes his joy in the simple things in life, like a cold beer, a brilliant sunset, his baby brother's smile, or a hot chick (how much do I wish it were me...) - perfectly logical. I see Dean and Sam evolving this season in a way which seems consistent with your characterization. Sam is finally coming to terms with the burden that Dean carries - I love the scene you have written. This is finally allowing Sam to "grow up", opening up a whole new level of angst for Dean, of course. I've said before that I have a problem with "new" characters to the Supernatural universe, and truth be told, with love interests for either of the boys. BUT, and it is a big but, you have made me love Brenna. Your writing has insured that she truly does deserve our Dean, and she is a fully realized character. I could go on and on about all the great elements to this chapter and story, but suffice it to say that this is just an outstanding story. Date: 13/02/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Great missing scene. One of the first things I read on a thread after BUABS aired was the wish (that I shared) for just such a missing scene - thank you for answering the call! While I too am all about the Dean-centric universe, I agree with you that Sam is not unworthy or stupidly oblivious when it comes to Dean. It is perfectly understandable, however, that after being possessed for a week he might be a little tired and self-absorbed... You do a great job with the characterization of Dean - love the snippets of Metallica morphing into AC/DC and his aversion to pink vet wrap (I admit that I gravitate to the pink and buy it whenever I can get it). I am very much looking forward to your next chapter.... I have to admit that I had vowed not to do any more reviewing after I was dissed after my last review, but I had to tell you how much I appreciate this. Summary: When several men in their midtwenties die mysteriously, Dean and Sam work to determine the cause... but will Dean's need to feel human again cause him to fall victim to the same evil? Note:Contains some scenes that may not be suitable for younger readers. Very slight spoilage for Faith.

Date: 05/04/07 Title: Chapter 4: Pushing Forward OMG! I was sooo glad to see your post! Great chapter. We can only begin to imagine Sam's agony on the other side of that locked door. Love the cover names - I hate to admit that I was a huge S&S fan back in the day. Sammy has to know something is really wrong with Dean though when Dean disses M&Ms. Please don't leave us hanging - you know how unstable those platforms can be! Yeah, something's definitely not right with Dean, that's for sure...and don't worry, I used to love Simon & Simon when I was a kid, lol. I thought AJ was so cute...now I feel a little silly when I see the episode reruns. Date: 11/07/07 Title: Chapter 9: Guilty Confessions WOW!!!! Freakin' awesome!!! Fabulous! Great chapter! LOVED this chapter. This little story would explain a lot of things... not least of all why Dean's eyes bled in Bloody Mary. I'm really hoping that Sam's reaction is in part because Dean waited so long to tell him. I'm also hoping that Sam will come to the realization of what this has cost Dean and why Dean couldn't tell him - and the sacrifice Dean made in not telling him, once the shock wears off. Poor Dean. I think that the Sam we have now going into the third season in a lot more mature than even the Sam we saw in Hunted - who was still acting like a bit of a spoiled brat. Anyway, no worries about this chappie!!! Fantastic - words simply escape me... Hope we will see more soon... How greedy am I after such a rich and long chapter to still look for more? I would give you 20 stars if that were an option.... Oh, wow *blushes deeply*, thanks! Date: 26/07/07 Title: Chapter 10: It's Easier to Run OMG! OMG! That is the MOST evil cliffie EVER!!! Just another awesome chapter. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that you had posted - I should have been in bed long ago, but couldn't resist... Bobby to the rescue! It just feels so right for it to be Bobby, doesn't it? I feel a little less animosity towards Sam but not much. I'm afraid that I'm pretty intolerant of thoughtless, hurtful words - you really can't take them back... Poor Dean.
