 Date: 05/10/07 Title: Chapter 1: Fool in the Rain Wow. Thank you for writing such an amazing piece! I was hoping it would be this good when I read the summary, and I sure wasn't disappointed. I loved the soldier's character, he was so...real. I'm a soldier myself, and I've spent time in Iraq, so when you started describing how he can't stand fireworks and freaks out on the highway, it kind of choked me up a little bit. And that's saying A LOT. Loved how Sam and Dean handled it all, and when you pulled out the girl's name my heart just broke for poor Sammy :( Awesome job! Author's Response: Gosh, this is perhaps the nicest review I've gotten. To hear from someone who *knows* what my fictional soldier has seen, first-hand, is really awesome, and I'm so glad you felt I got it right. This is giving away my age a little, lol, but my husband is a Vietnam combat vet, and while he doesn't freak over stuff now, he's told me how it was when he first got back. Date: 06/10/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 I was wondering as I read that story, if it was true, considering what you mentioned in your response earlier...very in-character for John though, as far as I can tell, I can definitely see him doing that! I figured I'd check out some more of your stories at this ungodly hour, since I liked the one I'd read! And once again, great job. Date: 08/10/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Oh my god, this was so sweet! First of all, I loved the mental image of darling Sammy going through boot camp...ah, that boy. He's just so damn stubborn, just like his Daddy :) I was wondering the whole time what kind of danger they would face that wasn't supernatural...and for some reason, a robbery never occured to me.. *shrugs* Either way, I liked it! And the way John protected Dean...aww. And when Sammy walked in with the gun, my mouth went dry! Yikes, what a scary situation. He never wanted to get rid of it... Darling little story, you wrote the boys very well, they were younger but still themselves. And I loved how you showed Dean sacrificing just to help Sam :) I also got a chuckle out of Dean indirectly buying his own Christmas gift, that happened to my mom once when I was about 8 or 9. I asked for some money and ran out and bought her gift with it, lol. ~Sierra Summary: Dean's wounded and wet and Sammy needs him right now more than ever, and he really can't deal with her silly crush right now.

Date: 15/12/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Wow. I, like everyone else it seems, had the same reaction as I started reading this: I was angry/annoyed that someone could write Dean so out-of-character. That someone could make him so cold and unfeeling. The part with the kitten broke my heart more than any of the others :( And then you delivered that twist at the end, as brilliantly as the kind of writing I'd expect from the show. As someone who shares a deep bond with her younger sister, I was so affected when I read what Dean was forced to do. I can't imagine my life without her love, and the fact that Dean had to is just....so awful (in a good way!) Awesome story! ~Sierra |
