Date: 12/04/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Awesome story hon. Just loved how you tied it in with the actual episodes in a realistic timeline. Fantastic twist at the end when the vampire stalker was found out to be Jenny, all the way through you had me believing it was Kate! And regarding what another reviewer said about spellings, keep on with the Brit/Aussie ones, not all readers are from the USA and it's so refreshing to read a story with 'our' spellings for a change! Author's Response: Thanks Sarah. And thank you for the spelling thing. I will take great pains to make sure I use American terminology for stuff - fender instead of mudguard, hood instead of bonnet, flashlight instead of torch, asphalt instead of bitumen. But I won't change the way I have been spelling for the last 40 years. Summary:

Date: 17/01/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 You were right about needing Kleenex for this fic, from the get-go it brought a lump to my throat. So true that Dean would have remembered Sam's birthday, putting the letter and present in Bobby's drawer so the old hunter would find it and give it to his little brother. Perfect the present being limited edition m&m's (don't have that sort in the UK, just the yellow, brown and blue packets), something true to Dean's heart but also representing the cherry chocs he remembered his little brother eating all those years ago. The letter did it for me, so emotional but so Dean, I totally choked up there. Could so see Sam rereading the letter and carefully folding it and loved that it didn't get Sam crying as I expected but gave him fond memories of his big brother and allowed him to get some peaceful sleep, still clutching Dean's words. Awesome Sarah Author's Response: Hi Sarah, Thanks so much for reading and reviewing Last Gift. It's one of my favorite stories, because, for once, the ideas flowed easily into the keyboard, and it just *felt* right. Sue Summary:

Date: 17/03/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Don't faint Jules, I am finally revieing on this site!!! Wow, what a dramatic and traumatic start to this story Jules (and Petra) OMIGOSH!!! *faints*..... My beta's come out of hiding!! Yep, the boys have finally split up - never a good thing as we all know too well. As for Ruby's hidden agenda - ah, you caught that little smirk she gave just before Sam used his power on the hell's gate, eh? Yes, she's definitely up to something. And the proverbial brown stuff really hits the fan in chapter 2 - so glad you didn't kill me over it. I know you didn't stop flailing and OHMIGOD-ing for a week after you beta-ed it..... Hmm...money for medication? Isn't everyone on private health cover? lol Jules

Jules, Jules, Jules, you so love to tease and mess with our minds so looking at the right side of your banner - and by what you said last week at the start of the fic - no death fics and you love to mess with our minds, I'm going with the fact that Sam isn't dead! Hey, sis! You are back here again - are you feeling all right? LOL! Ah, you're so sure that I'm sticking like glue to number 3 rule as well as number 2, eh? Well, we'll see, won't we? No, I don't think Ruby thought that her little "pet" would bite the hand that fed him - guess she just didn't know Sam as well as she thought she did. Thanks for helping me with Dean's speech, hon. I needed it to resonate, and from the reaction we've hit the mark pretty close. Jul

Date: 27/03/09 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Another fantastic chapter sis! Hope you have your running shoes on to out run the fangirls as you have Bobby dead - though in your defence we all probably assumed that the 'death of a well-loved character in 14.5 was Bobby (so glad it wasn't though, Kripke is like you, he loves to mess with our minds - are you sure you are not related?) How traumatic for Dean driving all the way to Bobby’s (and still can’t get over that the old hunter is now dead and gone) with Sam’s body on the back seat of the Impala. Loved how he kept up a one-sided conversation as he couldn’t bring himself to switch on the radio and couldn’t bear the silence. Perfect that he chose to ring Grace, just loved her character, and even more perfect that she was holiday with friends nearby and dropped everything to come over. Just loved the way Dean paid the old guy to help him purloin the supplies he needed, and used him to get them to the Impala, but it’s probably the most excitement the old guy had had in ages! You are certainly sticking to your number 3 rule and are messing with our minds! Hope you can recommend a good psychiatrist or therapist for your readers! Have an awesome weekend hon. Sarah Author's Response: Flip - I have been behind in my reviews. Want to ghost-write some for me, sis? No? Oh...... Thank you for an awesome beta-thingy as usual, stopping me from doubling up words and misplacing my Winchesters. And yes, I killed Bobby - but you know what I suspect, so.....not my fault...*points finger at SN LA offices*..... Oh, you liked the old bloke? That just came together on the spur of the moment. I thought he might just have a bit of rebel in him to help Dean out with his 'shopping list'. And yes, that was a painful journey home to South Dakota for Dean, thinking his brother was dead yet again. Um - when I find a good psychiatrist, I'll let you know, okay? LOL Jules

Um.....well......*shuffles feet*..... can I blame Cookie? Hmm, suppose not.... Yes, Sam's on the run - he's really not in a good head-space right now. And more of that will be revealed later. And yes, Sam needed to have more faith - and Dean needed to stop pushing.....and the list goes on. Thanks, sis, for all your help with this one, despite the fact that I've given you a few sleepless nights over it - lol Jul

Have a great Easter and enjoy your short break. And have a fantastic time at the OzCon, you are so lucky getting to meet and have a photo op with the boys, plus get their autographs *sigh* How I wish I lived in Australia! Will be a little late reviewing when you post chapter 6 on 24 April as will be in Eurodisney Paris, but will review as soon as I get back. Sarah Author's Response: Thanks sis. I didn't like doing it, but we had to. Real life was crushing all three of us. No, not a good birthday for Dean, not just because Jo turned up, either. But at least with Grace's help, he managed to send her off with a flea in her ear - even if it did get him spied upon for a few days. And yep, Sam is using all his skills as a hunter, too, and staying very much under everyone's radar....unless he's dead.....only time will tell. Thanks sis - I had a wonderful time as you know. I keep looking at the pic of me and the boys and pinching myself - lol! They were so beautiful. Jules

Date: 27/04/09 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Hi sis, late to reply here as not long back from Paris yesterday and it was an experience! And I do trust you with Sam sis, even though you are a Dean girl! And love Chris' awesome wall of the OzCon! So Dean turns up and saves Jo from certain death from the shape shifter, more than she really deserves for the trouble she has served up and the fact that she wants Sam’s head on a plate. At least Jo decides to quit looking for the younger Winchester and mentions Phoenix to Dean. Interesting though that he has not yet heard of the particular source of intel. And interesting too that Phoenix rings Dean wanting one of Bobby’s books. That leads me to believe that Sam is involved somehow as both Winchesters spent about the same amount of time at Bobby’s but Dean didn’t know of the book and had to search for it. Research geek Sam would know that Bobby had that book and would have probably read it, so I’m pretty sure he’s involved. There again, knowing how you love to play with our minds I could be barking up the wrong tree, I have done it many times before, other hunters must have known of Bobby's vast libaray! Whitesnake is an interesting character and he and Dean worked well as a team, sending the demon back to hell and not surprised that they hunt together again. Eagerly awaiting next Friday for answers, and probably more questions! Sarah Author's Response: Thanks sis! Ah, Phoenix - let's just say that I loved keeping you all guessing about poor, harmless, mega-geeky Alvin - LOL! And yes, I'm sure the hunters would have known about Bobby's books - and the fact that Daen had inherited them along with the property. And you like Bill Whitesnake? Petra's been working on his backstory - I've had a peek at the journal entry, and it's pretty damned good. And yep, at least the boys are in the same town now, although it might not go quite to plan......and yes, we are going to find out what Sam's been up to, and why he ran, and why he stayed out of sight. Lots of angst coming up! Jules

Date: 01/05/09 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Another awesome update sis. But OMG Sam goading Dean and laying himself open to his angry punches. And it doesn’t look good that Sam has collapsed unconscious, knowing that the pain in his head is something much more serious than concussion. Already eagerly awaiting next Friday's instalment! SarahAuthor's Response: Hi, sis - and thanks for your usual awesome beta-ing. Yes, just when you thought it was safe to breathe a sigh of relief, we go wham, bam thank you ma'am - evil of us.... And yep, you've hit the nail right on the head - Sam is very much a loner in this town, and there is a reason why that hunter's nook is locked away from prying eyes. All will be revealed. And a few things will be revealed about Sam very soon, including the reason why he went down like a sack of spuds under Dean's fists.... Jules

Date: 08/05/09 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Oh dear, Dean not being able to hide the blood and bruises on his knuckles and the paramedics and docs putting two and two together and realising he had done the damage to Sam. Not surprised that the doc has shooed Dean out of Sam’s room and sent him packing. Dean doesn’t really have a leg to stand on there and he’s lucky that the police haven’t been called. Not surprised either that he logs into his little brother’s computer to try and gain more information. But it proves how Sam either never expected Dean to turn up and how much Dean knows his little brother that he guessed the passwords and found the files on himself and other hunters, plus Sam’s journals. And Dean finding Bobby’s books has now revealed that Sam was Phoenix. Though they say you shouldn’t read someone’s private stuff in this case it is necessary as Dean has now found out about Sam’s cancer and realises that why punching and hitting him caused him to now be unconscious. Again you leave us in suspense! Typical! Can't wait for the next instalment and more of Sam's journals letting Dean and us know what happened to him in the missing two years. This story is certainly one to win awards! Sarah Author's Response: Hi, sis! Yes, Dean got found out - but in his defense, it wasn't all Sam's blood - most of it was his from when he clouted the industrial bin. Glad you liked the photo - that's how Blake recognised who Dean really was, actually - he'd seen that photo when he'd come to see Sam on house-calls. And no, Sam isn't Phoenix, sis - Alvin is Phoenix. Sam's just the puppet-master - lol. But that's explained in the next chapter. Yes, Dean's going to bitterly regret those blows to the head - especially once he reads about the radiation therapy and how sick Sam was. Jules

Date: 15/05/09 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Just an amazing chapter girls and thank goodness for Ginny, maybe she can talk some sense into her doctor husband. She is right, the boys both need each other - desperately. Sam’s journals were heartbreaking but told his story in the most effective way, I take my hat off to you Petra for writing them and Jules for having the idea. Also loved how you wrote with Sam seeing the two brothers and remembering what he and Dean used to be like. No wonder he found it so painful as that is just what he needed right then. And yes, the journals have confirmed Dean's suspicions that Sam is the brains behind the whole operation with Phoenix and him being teamed with Bill Whitesnake, thought so, especially with the purchase of those books! That explained the hunter’s stuff in the alcove! Have a great weekend girls Sarah Author's Response: What would we do without you, Ziggy? Your gentle and intelligent beta is one huge factor in the success of this fic. Your stunning review is much appreciate and very precious. Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments on my writing of the journals. You, have understood everything I wanted to achieve and I appreciate your indepth reflections very much. Jules was absolutely right that Dean finding Sam's journals was going to be a perfect (not to mention emotional!) reveal to finding out what had happened to Sam while they were apart. She is our resident creative genius for sure! I loved it that you commented on those two little brothers and Sam's reactions to seeing them together. And will our compassionate Ginny have any influence over her protective husband while he shields his patient from any perceived harm? Oh look, it's nearly time for the next chapter... Petra and Jules

Date: 23/05/09 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Wow, what an epic and emotional chapter that was girls - but totally amazing. :clap Hope my review does your update justice. Thank you so much for such a detailed and well thought out review. You are such an integral member of this little team and your words mean the world to us. We are humbled that after all your work you still find the time to review. Thank you for saying that you think Dean's reactions to reading Sam's journals were spot on, we really strived for this. Dean knows his brother better than anyone - there was no way he could not see and understand the real Sam as he read, no way he could not feel everything for and with his brother. You totally get everything we wanted to portray in your interpretation of Sam's journals, and we thank you for that. With Sam at rock bottom emotionally and physically, there was no way he wouldn't lay himself bare, and let everything just come tumbling out. Since he never intended for his journals to be read by anyone, let alone Dean, it was his way of venting. Yes, it would have be wonderful if the boys had sat down and had a real heart to heart, but that just isn't the Winchester way is it?? We love it that you understand Sam hiding behind John Campbell was his way of coping. Your comments about the end of our chapter are awesome, I know you have put a huge smile on Jules face with your thoughtful praise. Thanks again, Sarah. And yes, we had a terrific weekend! Petra and Jules

Date: 29/05/09 Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Another completely stunning chapter. Typical that you lull us into a false sense of security with Sam and Dean sleeping so calmly, leading us to think that they will have the chick-flick moment and everything will be hunky-dory in the Winchester world. The reality though is different and there are still bridges to cross. Poor Catherine and Sharon must be so confused with the snippets of information they keep receiving but not getting the big picture! Loved that Blake admitted to Ginny that he had been wrong, and so like her to organise food and a welcome when Sam arrives home with Dean. And Emily is a wise soul, spotting immediately that Dean is Sam's brother and not just a friend. Typical of Sam to say he never got a look at his 'mugger' and Ginny will never let the cat out of the bag. The brotherly instinct to protect is still there. Perfect that Dean admitted he had read Sam's journal when Sam realised he knew about the tumour, they need to be as honest as possible with each other and hiding that fact would have just caused more mistrust as it couldn't have been hidden for long. Trust you to keep up the angst with Sam still unsure whether Dean is there to finish the job or to be his brother and that is confirmed by his nightmare at the end of the chapter where he keeps reliving things he heard when he was unconscious. But how awful for Dean to realise that Sam heard his conversation with Grace but he now has an explanation as to why Sam ran. Awesome update, had you had the talk in this chapter it would have been too rushed as there is still so much both boys have to work through. So looking forward to next Friday and the inevitable chick-flick moment! SarahAuthor's Response: Once again you manage to make our day with a stunning review. Thank you so much for just 'getting it' - your deep reflections are exactly the emotions that are driving these brothers, and this is what we are continually striving to portray. We love every one of your observations and your compliments are icing on the cake. Petra and Jules

Date: 05/06/09 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12 No worries about the two week hiatus, Jules' health is the priority (just hope you stay flu free Petra) and I know how much neither of you would want to post a chapter you were not totally happy with. Yes, Dean finally pushed Sam enough for him to tell all - well, almost all. The final secret's going to be a hard one for Sam to tell, and for Dean to deal with. Fingers crossed that they've come back far enough to each other to be able to weather the final storm. For as you say, if Dean walks out now, Sam may just not survive. Jules & Petra

Date: 26/06/09 Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Another awesome and mind-blowing chapter girls, well worth the wait, and yes, you were missed! Had guessed that the last big secret of Sam's would be the drinking of Ruby's demon blood and it was obvious why he was so hesitant to tell his brother, but poor Dean was totally unprepared for that revelation and it shocked and horrified him to his core. Ruby certainly played Sam to perfection in getting him to take that first taste and then there was no going back, he was on his own with Ruby as his only support. Must admit I am a little mad at Dean, after all Sam was understanding when Dean revealed to him what he did in hell, he didn't judge him or berate him at all. They were both at the end of their rope when they made their decisions, right or wrong. But there again, you have to take into account how unprepared Dean was to hear Sam's words. I'm sure that when Dean has had time to mull over what Sam has said he will return, knowing that Sam wouldn't have done it if he hadn't been desperately missing Dean and wanting revenge for the loss of his brother. Unfortunately without Dean's support he was talked into taking the wrong path, tricked into believing he was doing the right thing, and the fact that the hosts survived then proved this. Just hope Dean doesn't take too long in coming back to Sam with the way the younger Winchester is looking at those pills and hope he isn't devastated enough to take them, or take them thinking he will save Dean the job of ending him. As usual you leave us on the edge of our seats wanting more. Can't wait for chapter 14! SarahAuthor's Response: Thank you sis, and thanks for that record turnaround in beta-ing for us, you little speed-demon, you. Yep, Dean was shocked clear down to his socks when Sam dropped the final secret on him. And all Sam's fears were realised when Dean did a bunk. But Dean was reacting, not thinking. Well, not thinking clearly... As for how long Dean will take - well, he's got a lot to work through. And then there are those tiny little pills....such a lot of pills..... Jules & Petra

Date: 03/07/09 Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Wow, another great chapter girls. Loved how you had the Archangel Michael visit Dean as he stormed off after Sam's revelation, and kinda fitting he ended up in a cemetery. And Dean was right on track insisting the Michael gave Sam the message himself rather than through a messenger. That was a stroke of genius Michael's message from God for Sam to start praying again, as to me, losing his faith played a big part in Sam being manipulated by Ruby and taking the path he did, even though his intentions were good. Not surprised that Sam was horrified when Michael appeared in his living room and terrified that he would smite him, but Dean would never have someone else carry out his dirty work, he's no coward. Great twist Michael not only giving Sam back his faith but also curing his cancer permanently. My heart was in my mouth when I read that it had started to come back again, too small to be detected by machines. And what an ending - Bill Whitesnake turning up. Not 100% sure but I'm guessing other hunters led him to Sam. Surprised and intrigued as to why he has slashed Sam's wrist, something about the demon blood? There again you could be leading us to think wrong and that Whitesnake's intentions may not be bad. Sam would have thought long and hard before pairing Bill with his brother for hunting and Dean got on well with him but, there again, he could have been got to by other hunters. Hedging my bets here! Guess I will have to wait for next week's instalment to find out! SarahAuthor's Response: Thanks, sis. Actually, I think we kept the Archangel bit from you as a surprise - were you surprised? LOL. We really wanted that scene with Michael and Sam - and Sam finally having an angel appearing to him to do good, not to threaten him or take his brother away. And no, Dean would have stepped in front of Sam in a heartbeat if he thought Michael had other plans. Yep, we brough the cancer full circle, too - it's all part of the freeing process - freeing Sam to go home. As for Bill - well.....there could be something up his sleeve apart from his arm - sort of depends what he's going to do with that knife next... Jules & Petra

Date: 03/08/09 Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15 Awesome chapter girls! Just knew that Bill couldn't be up to anything untoward, after all Sam picked him as Dean's hunting partner. Loved the surprise of him making Sam his blood brother, despite knowing about the demon blood, so that he is protected. And could just imagine Dean's face as Bill cut into Sam's arm - Bill was lucky to leave unscathed! So glad that Sam has decided to come home, typical of Dean that he wants to make it something special though and wants to return to Bobby's first to bring Sam back in the Impala. That way they will be complete - Dean, Sam and the Impala! Blake must have had a surprise when seeing Sam again and looking at the x-rays, not only the tiny shadow has gone but his visible scars too! And he took the news well about the archangel! Just hope that Sam's nightmare doesn't come true, but as Dean knows about it he will do everything in his power to prevent it happening. Loved all the brotherly moments between the boys, especially the eye hug - awesome! And perfect how everyone will be sad to see Sam leave but knows that he and Dean belong together and are two parts of a whole. Sunday night sounds like it will be fun! Can't believe you are in the final stretch of this awesome story - can't wait for the epilogue next week, there are bound to be a few surprises! Sarah
Author's Response: Sarah, once again your stunning review just blows our minds. We love it that not only do you point out the bits that impact on you, but you analyse and critique the reasons behind so succinctly. We really appreciate that you get the reasons behind Whitesnake's actions so well. Sam needing protection and confidence were important parts of our fic, and it's so affirming that you get all the little reasons that make the big picture of our fic work so well. And yes, the Winchesters are not complete without the Impala. Sam needed that as much as Dean, as much as us and our readers. Thank you for making this a special part of your review. Ahhh, Sam's nightmare...Jule's is the Queen of suspense, and it is so much fun working with her cliffies and teasers. Thank you once again for you ability to take off your beta hat and enjoy our fic as a much valued reader and reviewer - for us, this is proof of the success of our story - that after all your intense micro-reading, you can still kick back and read with your heart guiding you and not your red pen. We love you to bits. Petra and Jules

Date: 11/08/09 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Well, I'm on my holidays so don't know how long it will take me to get to reading parts 1 and 2 of the epilogue, but never fear I will! Great chapter girls, so much to comment on that I hope I don't forget anything. Loved how Sam was coming through, allowing Ginny to hug him, something John rarely allowed. Totally Sam that he would confess all to Ginny and great that she accepted everything he said especially when he mentioned the archangel. Spot on how distracted Sam would be waiting to hear from Dean, though not so much so at the library but definitely at Willa's as he was waiting for his brother's call to say he was safely home. So Dean, not only taking a phone pic of the funky horse but also getting a replacement jelly bracelet for his little brother, making the do-over even more like before. Perfect touch too, how neither brother slept well, each having a nightmare around the same time and both waking up regularly during the night, missing the presence of their sibling. So glad that you had Jo arrive at Bobby's and Dean putting her straight about Sam, even telling her about the cancer, so that when she left there was no danger of her trying to hunt down the younger Winchester. Logical that Blake would question Sam as to whether he really wanted to go home or if it was because Dean wanted it and when Sam explained things it was spot on how Blake would see Sam as someone different, not as John his patient. Loved the scene with Sam shaving off his beard, completing the transformation from John to Sam and the commentary going through his head at the same time. Had my heart in my mouth when Dean started skidding on the black ice, thinking Sam's nightmare might come true but, for once, luck was on his side and he and the Impala came to no harm and he managed to stop and ring Sam. Great that both their prayers were answered with the arrival of the snowplough and that the roads Dean needed had been cleared so he could continue his journey to his little brother. Almost perfect timing that he arrived during the early hours of the morning, coming in through the window, less than quietly as he did so long ago in Stanford waking his little brother with his noise, prompting the same word "Dean"! Awesome as he gave Sam the jelly bracelet and Sam gave Dean back his skull one, everything was almost in its place, and giving Sam an almost identical watch to the one that had been destroyed was the icing on the cake! Great end to the chapter, them finally bunking down together to get some sleep with the typical Dean comment - "I'll just bunk down with you. It's only for a few hours." Dean held up a cautionary finger. "Just three rules, dude - no hogging the blankets, no kicking - and definitely no gas." Hope I haven't missed out anything and that I've done this chapter justice. Off to hit the sack myself now, will catch up with the epilogue as soon as I can! Well written girls.Author's Response: Yay, you're here!! How AMAZING was it all being in the same room for this last post, wine glasses clinking as this epilogue threesome went up!! Just freaking AWESOME wasn't it!?! And now this wonderful review. WOW, we are loving all your detailed comments and deep understanding -your comments are very important to us. The fact that you have taken the time and effort to highlight all the important events of this chapter and analysed them in terms of their significance to the story and to you emotionally is simply stunning. Date: 13/08/09 Title: Chapter 17: Epilogue Part 1 Great first part to the epilogue, loved it. Just beautiful how Dean woke up and found his little brother outside staring at the Impala before gently putting his hand on her. You could so feel Sam's emotion at looking at his 'home' again after two years. So emotional too Dean's reaction to watching his brother and his thoughts at having the two most important things in his life reunited again. And Dean deflecting Sam's meltdown with a sparring session was pure genius and just loved how Dean got the upper hand by tickling his sibling into submission! It fit totally that Sam would walk Dean round the town, pointing out things with a running commentary and fitting too that he became silent when passing the church, remembering the feelings of before. Just loved how when they came to the park Dean and Sam witnessed the younger brothers building a snowman, bringing things full circle. Liked too how there was closure on the fight where Blake had rescued the unconscious Sam, dealing with the bully who had threatened him before Dean's words cut him down as to the only reason he had come out victorious over his brother the last time. Fitting that Sam said his goodbyes to the friends he had made and who had supported him in Dean's absence in Em's Diner, the same place he had been reunited with his big brother. And a fantastic ending to this chapter, the image of Sam and Dean leaving the diner together, getting into the Impala in perfect synchronicity and slamming their doors as one. Will get to part 2 of the epilogue as soon as I have time. Can't wait to read the end of this masterpiece.
Author's Response: Knowing you were here in Australia as your read and reviewed our three part epilogue makes this review so special for us! You have put as much effort into your reviews as you do into beta'ing for us and we appreciate every word and comment. It is just wonderful that you can take off your beta hat and read for the sheer pleasure of being a Supernatural fan, and we just love that about you. We are absolutely thrilled that you point out not only the parts of our chapter that you love, but that you let us know how they affected you on an emotional level. You know how we feel about you, knowing you feel the emotions and get the connections with us in our fic is just icing on the cake. Date: 27/08/09 Title: Chapter 18: Epilogue Part 2 At last I have got around to reviewing part 2 of the epilogue! Sorry it was such a long time coming! Your writing was pure perfection, pitched perfectly, not at all mushy and totally believable. Loved how you wrote Grace stirring feelings in Sam that he hadn't felt for so long and Dean's humour over Sam's not-so-little problem was just so brotherly, still knowing how to gently tease him and get him all flustered and embarrassed before fleeing the room!
Sarah Author's Response: oops, wrong button! Here's our real response. Working on getting rid of the dud one... No apologies needed, my friend. Doing the tourist thing around Australia for two weeks - no wonder you have only just got to the last part of our epilogue. Thank you so very much for your terrific comments to wrap our story up. It was important for us to tie up all loose ends and reach closure for all the threads of our fic, so we are delighted that you think so too. We are glowing with your praise, especially your "pitched perfectly" observations. We strived to balance the deep emotions with the lighter moments within the brother's relationship, and it is very satisfying when our readers notice and enjoy these aspects of our story. We love it that we melted your heart and that our song choices resonated with you. How can we ever thank you for everything you have contributed to the development of this story? The honour and privilege is all ours. Your skills as a beta are second to none, your patience as we fiddled with certain parts ad nauseum is much appreciated and your understanding for the time pressures we imposed upon you as we crashed and burned in real life or when our muses were on a roll is treasured. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Meeting you and getting to know you was truly a highlight of our lives. Petra and Jules

As I said before, this story has been an honour and a privilege to beta, from first word to last. Thanks, sis. Your tweaking kept us on the straight and narrow - especially when the boys kept moving from where we'd put them in a previous scene - LOL! And no, I wasn't sure whether this would be the story that would make you want to jump on a plane to Australia and strangle me in person....especially chapter 2..... But it all worked out okay in the end, despite the story growing to twice the estimated length. We certainly did work the internet servers hard there for a while, didn't we? All our multi-coloured emails - lol. Thank you for your help and support, sis - we couldn't have done it without you. Jules & Petra Summary:
Mysterious wild animal attacks draw the brothers up to a small city in Utah. Upon discovery that they are facing not one but two werewolves, with the possibility of their pups the brothers know they are in over their heads. Will they be able to stop them before anyone else gets hurt? Or will they be the pack's next meal? At least the alpha female is dead but Dean is probably right that the alpha male is after them for revenge for his partner being killed. Pity Bobby is too far away to come help and although Jenni seems determined to help and probably wants to get revenge for Greg being killed she really needs to stay at home with young Chris as he will need his mum more than ever now he only had one parent. Author's Response: I've done tons of lore on werewolves as I like to make my stories as mythology bases as possible, but werewolves are so commonly done. When I saw the Mai-cob legend I was very excited as it gave me something new to work with in an otherwise commonly used creature. I hope that you enjoy the final chapter. Thanks for the review, Sarah.

Fitting that Jenni fired the final bullet that killed the wolf and now the townspeople can live in safety. Not sure how long she will stay there though because of all the memories. Not surprised the boys are heading off to Bobby's for a bit as Sam is freshly injured and just had his broken arm pinned and Dean is still recovering from his injuries. They both need some down time and hopefully they will actually talk to each other. An enjoyable read, thanks Candace. Sarah Author's Response: You don't need to apologize, Sarah, I know your life gets crazy at times. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending to this story though - I can't say it was one of my favorite stories, but I'm happy with the way it turned out in the end so that's all that matters and as usual they both got a little banged up in my story so they could use the down time at Bobby's. Thanks for always sticking with me. :) Summary: Dean is determined to get to the bottom of Sam's strange behavior. A missing Tuesday from Mystery Spot.

What an awful way to go this time, being accidentally harpooned by some woman in the Flora’s Fins and Fauna: A His and Hers Gift Shoppe! Really well done. Sarah Author's Response: Hi Sarah, Mystery Spot is one of my favorite episodes, and when Sam dropped that tantalizing line about how many Tuesdays he'd lived through, I just had to write a couple of missing scenes. I was looking for an unusual way for Dean to buy it, and I took the harpoon and ran with it. But, remember, he did shove Sam out of the way, first, so in that respect, it wasn't an unusual way for Dean to go, at all - protecting Sammy. Summary:
John has made a discovery that has made him have to sit Dean down for that talk. John though might learn more than his son, more than he really wants to know! Rated M for subject matter and mild discussion of that boys' habit! Spoilers: Pre-series, so none. Disclaimer: The CW and Mr K owns it all and my soul. And loved how Sam inadvertently dropped his big brother in it even more when John was having enough difficulty as it was getting his head around how sexually active his eldest was. And the awkward conversation between them was pure gold! Thanks Ziggy. Yeah poor John is a little behind the times. I had fun with Sam in this one, trying to help but just digging the hole instead! lol The little convo at the end was fun to write and I had to end it with John realising that he was wasting his time! Glad you liked, Mary x |
