Date: 20/11/07 Title: Chapter 6: Encounter Good blend of past and present & both stories had me wanting more. Good conversations b/w the brothers and good story idea. Can’t wait to see more! Nice descriptive paragraph (one of many): He twisted his neck around, checking the direction he’d just come from before continuing on his search. Shadows, caused by the streetlights outside, danced across the dusty floor and each time he saw one move his heart hammered a little harder. Author's Response: Heya! Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad that you're enjoying so far and thanks for your compliments! It's always great when people pick out certain parts of your story and say nice things about them so thank you! Hope you keep enjoying! Summary:
Sequel to my story Burden. Dean helps Sam makes a painful journey down memory lane in order to find the answer to the question that Sam has been struggling with for so long...Is he good or is he evil? The aftermath is not easy to handle for either brother. Check out the third and final story in this series Mind Games (in progress). I have to say that the person who won this at the KazCon auction definitely got there money’s worth! Author's Response: Thank you very much, Kumaproogey. It means a lot to me to see such kind words about this. Wanted it to be extra special and I'm glad it turned out to be so. Summary:
It’s been three weeks since the all-important events of AHBL2, and three weeks since the brothers have been on a hunt. Dean is ready to get back to work, but Sam has something to say to him, and Dean is not going to like what he realizes about himself and what he did for Sam. The truth hurts: especially when it’s told to us by someone we love. Ficlet, 3500 words, coda to "All Hell Breaks Loose 2." ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 22/09/07 Title: Chapter 1: The Truth Hurts Good conversation between the two. It seemed real & true to the show, not fake. Good writing skills. Great paragraph, really captured Dean & his strong emotions for Sam & his fears: Dean let a small, bitter smile pass over his face. He understood that. Of course he did. It was the reason he had made that deal in the first place. Not because it was his job. Not even because he loved his brother more that he had ever loved or ever would love another person. He had done it because he, Dean Winchester, was afraid of being alone. Because he did not want to face living in a world that didn’t have Sam in it. Sam gave him a reason, a purpose. Sam was his anchor. He was the only one who had ever loved him unconditionally, or at least the only one who had ever made that clear to him. So really, Sam was right. Summary:
Finding themselves caught up in the middle of a long standing feud, Sam and Dean find it hard to tell just who the bad guys are.

I also like the Bonnie character & how she appears to be a sweet, elderly, grandmotherly type & has a dark, dark secret. I like how she interacts with her captor. I love how you portray the rapport between the brothers, most evident when they are talking about the job & the money – seemed very true to the show. Can't wait to see where this leads. You've set this story up like a typical real episode b/c it has a beginning unrelated to the brothers but related to the upcoming case – gets you hooked & leads us (& the brothers) to solve the case (together) Author's Response: Thank you VERY much for this, it's a really thoughtful review and I appreciate it. Its good to hear about the parts of a story that work, and I tried to think hard about the structure of this one. Thanks again K. reviews like this are like goldust.

You definitely had me completely interested with all the suspense. You let enough slip to keep me wanting more & curious to see where it was going, but still kept the mystery. Can't wait to see where this leads! Author's Response: Thanks Kuma - I'm very glad you're enjoying the ride, there should be an update to this story very soon!

Been writing quite dark stuff lately that didn't really mesh with where I wanted this one to go, but now all that's out of my system...it won't be long. Thanks very much for the review. Date: 26/09/07 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 That whole 1st paragraph made me pause. It was so touching & the writing was incredible. You really captured the scene, feelings & emotions emanating from Dean. Hands down one of the best post-All Hell Breaks Loose (Part 1) fics that I've read (trust me, there are a lot out of there too). Truly heartbreaking w/ Dean "talking to" & "fixing" SamParticularly liked these sentences, they really grabbed & stuck with me: Footsteps approached rapidly, slowed, faltered, and finally stopped, and still he rocked, his grip tightening, unwilling to let go, unable to look into the still, dead face. He'd failed. He'd been too late. He closed his eyes and pulled his brother crushingly close, desperately trying to feel one more heartbeat, one more breath. But the life that had been his to nurture and protect was gone, ripped from his world in an instant of blinding pain. Excellent descriptions!!: Cold raindrops spattered into the desolate street, and lightning sheeted across the sky, heralding the approaching storm. Boots shuffled against the damp ground, and a calloused hand came out of the dark to rest on his shoulder. Summary:
After an ordinary hunt, Sam and Dean will find out about the danger that lurks in the woods... or just inside your own mind..?

Date: 18/10/07 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Great imagery: And now Dean was going to die, and what could Sam do but sit and watch the sand sift through the hour glass? In that final moment, when the last grain fell, what the hell was he supposed to do? & He heard Dean talking to him. How long had they been talking? Sam’s vision was a fish darting in and out of filtered sunlight, fading and blurring as his older brother’s words washed upon his consciousness. The end was so heavy (in a good way). Perfect ending, really tied everything together & gave it more substance, more power to the whole story. Summary: When Dean gets a call that Sam has been seriously injured how far will Dean go to get to his brother in time?

Date: 09/01/08 Title: Chapter 5: Impala Nice idea, Dean would definitely get on a plane to get to an injured Sam sooner. I liked the thoughts on hot Heathers – that was amusing. You wrote Dean's fear – his irrational and scattered thoughts well, it really came across how petrified he was to be flying – and in bad weather too. You kept my curiosity peeked b/c I was eager to find out how Sam got injured. You did a good job portraying Sam's confusion and fear in chapter 2. Sam's realization of how Dean got there & that whole conversation was adorable. You got the banter (both spoken and thought) between the brothers down really well. -This little section in Chapter 1 confused me a bit: “They say flying is safer than driving. What’s wrong?” Apparently Heathers were perceptive, too.“My brother—he was in a car wreck,” Stay down, food, hear me?“I’m so sorry, that was rude of me.”- It was confusing b/c he had already mentioned his brother & that's why he was flying. I think the question "What's wrong?" needed to be rephrased or he just answered it incorrectly, which didn't come across to me. It was unnecessary b/c it was a repeat of the previous conversation.Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really love this story and the way it came out in the end! It started with telling a friend about a similar flight and grew into this. I understand your confusion a little, but I think Dean had said Sam was hurt, but not how, when he was first talking to the hot Heather on the plane. Hot Heather's might confuse hom a bit, especialy on a plane LOL Summary: Dean's year is drawing to a close. How might it be affecting him...?

Date: 09/01/08 Title: Chapter 1: After the Hunt You take simple and/or everyday events and make them stronger and more vivid due to your writing. Example: Sam licked his lips nervously and blew out a puff of air turned visible by the rapidly cooling Autumn weather. His senses tingled, alive and singing of thrill and of danger. Out of the corner of his eye he caught a dark blur heading straight for his brother. It was a nice, simple story and I really enjoyed it. You touched on a feeling that Sam had and played it really well, but kept it subtle and sweet.Author's Response: I just want you to know that your review really touched me. It seems like I've been really blessed this week to receive two or three really sincere, extremely generous reviews from people at time when I'm feeling quite inadequate with my writing skills. Date: 09/01/08 Title: Chapter 1: Nightmares Made Real Seriously, this whole scene, seemed a bit much but if there was more to it, it certainly could have been an incredible scene. Instead, it was pretty poor, all you're doing is just briefly mentioning what is happening, there's no details, action, suspense, frankly, it's boring to read: Even as they prepared for an attack by the Wendigo, though, the hikers’ ghosts struck. A few well-placed rock salt blasts kept the shades at bay, but then a werewolf sprang out of the night and attacked Dean while Sam tried to keep a vampire at arms length. Dean pulled a handgun from his waistband and dispatched the werewolf, but the death was not as he had expected. In fact it reminded him of—a ghost tossed Dean headfirst into a tree, and he blacked out before he could warn Sammy about the thing they were facing. ~~I tried reading after that but I was thoroughly confused. It felt like I was reading a whole new story. I had no idea how they had gotten to that point and honestly I couldn't read any further.
