Hi

Well, I figured it was time I put something up on my profile...

My name is Jane I live and work in the UK just outside London, in Essex. I'm a 45 year old mum to two beautiful teenage daughters. I work term times as a Learning Support Assistant at an adult college, supporting 16 - 19 year old mechanics with both literacy and numeracy - which I have done for the last five years, (I'm getting pretty good at fixing my car by now as a bonus). It is a job which I love dearly. We have an insane border collie called Gypsy and two rabbits and three guinea pigs.

Before becoming a mum, I spent fourteen years in the British Womens Royal Naval Service as a communicator (Radio Operator), where I met and married my soon to be ex-husband. I loved every moment of my naval career and it gave me the opportunity to try many wonderful and exciting activities (rifle shooting, abseiling, adventure camps, canoeing, orienteering, survival courses, first aid and expedititon leadership to name but a few).

I have been writing Supernatural fiction for about nine months, but have been reading, betaing and reviewing for about a year and a half. I moderate on The Vaults Forum (SPNV) and am an Admin on the Everything Supernatural Forum, where I can be found under my other pename IMPALADREAMS.  I have many stories in the pipeline but time constraints, as ever, get in the way. They will all, hopefully, get finished eventually.

Writing is something I have always wanted to do, but until I discovered the world of Supernatural and fanfiction I have never had the confidence to go ahead and just do it. However, it has become a very important part of my life and I have made some wonderful friends through it - you know who you are guys!!  This wonderful Winchester World that we play in is one of my favourite forms of escapism, and both reading and writing in it has helped me through some really rough times over the last year or so.

I meet up about 4/5 times a year with a small group of similarly obsessed Supernatural fans at the Hilton Paddington.  We get together for laptop screensaver idolisation, general lusting over the boys (Dean in particular), quizzes/competitions and total Supernatural Saturation.  It's great fun and if anyone is living in the UK or visiting at the time of our meets (dates posted up on the Vaults) we would love to see you there.  It's small, friendly and great fun.

I am totally devoted to Supernatural (even when the story arc is getting so dark) and I love both the boys, but am definately a Dean girl. I love reading and writing hurt, angsty Dean and caring, sharing Sam.

I co-wrote The Twelve Saves of Christmas - which was posted on here by birdie. We are currently working on the follow on story (a much darker fic) entitled, To My Brother I Am Bound.   I have recently joined the E/O drabble challenge over on Fanfiction and am discovering a whole new way of writing.

So that's about it for starters. Thanks for reading. Jane

Oh the plot thickens and the mission just gets harder and harder.  I loved the car journey, the line, "Dean noticed 'it' was grinning at him" still has me chuckling.  Great job.  Thanks J.

Author's Response: Jane, thank you for finding my story and sharing your thoughts....     we all know Dean adores kids

I've only just realised that everything they ever need is in the Impala - including the M&M's!!  Poor Dean, I can't believe he's damaged that gorgeous butt.  I'm loving the visuals here.  J

Author's Response:

hopefully the visuals will only get better..... poor Dean ...no sugar fix....no medical attention

thanks for sticking with us....    Jude

I love the way you've combined the immense tension with the incredible humour.  Oh and the visuals just keep getting better and better.  J.

Author's Response:

so happy you're enjoying this........ I tried very hard to maintain a bit of humor just like our hero always does....

Again Jane, so wonderful to see your nice reviews thank you...I'll keep writing...if you will  !!!!           :0)  jude

A real Cujo moment with the back door!!  This rolls beautifully from one hurdle to the next, so much tension but just so much humour.  I love the way you have Dean pulling out all the stops to convince Sammy that everything's fine, when underneath (literally) he's almost running on empty.  The time updates are working really well too - gives an almost "24" feel to it - well the clocks ticking so I'm off to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Jane, thank you so much for your lovely heartfelt reviews.......Thank you for appreciating my attempt to keep the clock running as Dean slowly creeps toward saving his girl.......

Thank goodness he's under that fence - once again the spoon to the rescue.

I'm still chuckling over the "Look like some damned 'swamp monster' off the horror channel."  Stanley seems very sweet.

I've got to go and find out what's beyond the doorway.  Thanks Jane

Author's Response: Jane...again so enjoying the fact that you are enjoying my attempt to entertain... Thanks again for so sweetly reviewing....     :0)    jude

Ah, now it's all falling into place, all the high security, the Impala getting scrapped and Wanda leaving early.  So very cleverly done!!  Chop shop and Meths Lab, I feel this scrap yard boss and his allies really deserve whatever's coming to them.

Very touching scene when Stanley recalls his cousins death.  He is turning into a very likeable character, it looks like Dean could use some help about now!  Great chapter.  Thanks J.

Author's Response: I wanted my little Stan to be a sweetie...Dean really needed an ally since Sam was out of reach....Was hoping you guys would like Malone being a REALLY big crook.......

Just when I think Stanley's turning into a regular little hero it turns out he's eaten the M & M's.  Well I guess he's been forgiven after all his help.

Another incredibly exciting chapter - so much going on.  At least now the boys are back together reunited with the Impala, with food and drink to hand.  Will they get past Malone unnoticed??  I've got to go and find out.  Thanks  J.

Author's Response: Jane....promised Vanessa that the FINAL ---chapter 11--- will be posted on Saturday morning.....                             please don't forget....will love to see your response to how it wraps up.....

A lovely, funny heartwarming chapter.  Hurt, drunken Dean was just delightful!  I guess I'd happily swap places with Gran for the next few hours!! lol...

Can't wait for the next update but it's kind of sad as I guess we're near the end now.  I think I'll miss Stanley and Gran.  Great update - Thanks Jane

Author's Response:

Jane.........so glad you liked my kind little twosome....

If it makes you feel any better....I felt like I'd attended a memorial service as I put the last few words on the final page.....These tales all have a life of their own and the characters become a bit like family....       :0(    jude

As you say 'An absolute perfect end' in so many ways.

Such a warm, safe place for a bit of R & R.  It makes a real change for the boys to find somewhere so welcoming and homely - can't they take Gran and Stan with them when they leave...lol!!

I loved the scene's with Gran and Dean, some wonderful drunken dialogue there.  He is so sweet when he's shy!!

Thank you for a thoroughly entertaining, gripping tale, I'm just sorry it's over but what a lovely ending.  Thanks again... Jane

Author's Response:

Jane, i'm so glad you were able to finish it. I was really surprised by how well received Stan and Gran were. It warms my heart to hear that.

How nice to hear that you're sorry it ended ...but at least DEAN had a pretty ending......I think he'd be pretty sweet imbibing and pretty silly.......Thank you for your nice reviews!!!!!!!!

"Marlin was done terrorizing, hurting.  Marlin was done."  Oh, what sweet words, could it really be time that Marlin gets exactly what he deserves.!!

This was such a touching chapter; the relief that Dean has got Sammy back, the tender way he dealt with Sam's embarrassment at his filthy condition, the reaction to the bruising, causing the uncertainty that Marlin had planned all along and finally Sam's declaration that they either both get out or he's staying alone.  All very poignant.

Now what we need is a good riot and a prison break!!  That would be great to get them all out.  Do we get to see Dean's fight with Tim?  I'm enjoying this far too much to want it to end any time soon.  Thanks.  Jane

Author's Response:

Yes, Marlin's time is approaching.  And Yes, Tim and Dean will fight, but probably not what you think.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

What an awful place, what a terrible situation you've landed them in and not a demon in sight.  Super stuff, can' wait to read on.  J.

Oh God, this place is making my skin crawl.  Fantastic dialogue going on here, there's a real sense of underlying panic from both the boys.

Marlin is truly horrible!!  I guess things aren't going to get better any time soon!  Thanks  J.

Author's Response: Thanks so much.  Yes, Marlin is scum.

Carter seems a really decent character, at least there's someone inside there who looks like they can be trusted.

I love Dean's automatic acceptance of the fact that he's going to get knocked to pieces in there to keep Sam safe.  The fight scene was fast and furious with a real sense of urgency.  Dean's not going to be happy that Sam's missing.

I've got to go and find out where he's gone.  Thanks  J.

Author's Response:

Carter is a good guy under everything...he'll be back in a few chapters.

Thanks so much for reading.

This was such a deeply disturbing chapter, poor Sam, he really is going through hell.  The torture, abuse and total disregard for human life from Marlin is breath-taking, he's really enjoying this.  He is one sick puppy!!

This is superb storytelling.  Thanks  J.

Author's Response:

Marlin is a very disturbing person.  Thanks so much for reading and all your wonderful comments.

Poor Dean's getting severely hammered both in and out of the arena, maybe things will improve now he's one of Del Villars' (Devil Liar anag??) chosen ones.

The fight with Marlin was brutal, it was good to see him getting hurt, it would be better to see him suffer an extremely nasty fatality in the not too far distant future!!  He is so not nice...

It's good to see the boys back together again, nothing seems quite so bad when they're not alone.  J.

Author's Response:

No, it's not an anagram, I can't do those to save my life.  Just a cool name I saw and thought I'd use it.  But it does work here, doesn't it?  LOL

Thanks again for reading and for the reviews, they mean a lot to me.

"I don't know how much more of this I'm gonna be able to do" heartbreaking stuff!!  They're both hurting but still hanging in there.

"Lose", oh this is getting ugly, poor Dean's nowhere near over his last fight yet.  Somehow I can't see him going down after the first punch either.

Please update soon - we need to know what's happening in that arena!!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your too kind words.  And will be updating soon.

I guess Dean hasn't quite got to grips with 'How to throw a fight.'  Great fight scene, it's hard to tell what hurt Dean more, the hits or losing!

They deserve a good long break in Carters' sick bay, such a nice man.  He is a very caring character and reads the boys so well, he's working so hard to try and gain their trust.

Thanks for the update.... looking forward to the next one.  J.

Author's Response:

Thanks so very much Janger.

I think you lulled me into a false sense of security there in Carters' sickbay!!  I was just thinking things were starting to look up for the boys, when Marlin rears his oh so ugly head again.....lol.  That was a mean trick not giving Dean the proper instructions.  Now poor Sam's got to pay the price.

I do hope that you have a suitably gruesome chapter devoted to the demise of that evil SOB - preferably at the hands of Dean and/or Sam - in the way distant future, cause I'm enjoying this story far too much to want it to end anytime soon.

Great update, love the underlying tension and fear whenever Marlin turns up.  There's also such a feeling of confidence, security and strength the boys draw from spending time together.  I's still loving Carter.  Thanks J

Author's Response:

Thanks so much...Marlin's up to no good for sure.  We've got a ways to go before the end.

Thanks for reading.

OMG, how is Sam ever going to get over this latest ordeal??  Forced to watch the rape and murder of the nameless victim, the apalling violence and abuse to himself and the fear of the threats to repeat it all to Dean - Sam is going to need some serious putting back together after this one.

Your creation, Marlin, is one completely depraved, sick, twisted, perverted, bully.  He is not just aiming for the physical abuse of Sam but also for the psychological damage to both boys.  The targetted bruising to Sam is bound to make Dean suspect the very worse when he does get Sam back.

This is utterly harrowing, totally compelling storytelling.  Please update soon, I can't bear the thought of Sam left alone in that awful room covered in vomit.  J.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and commenting.  Yes, Marlin is sick, evil, just plain mean.  I'm glad you're liking the story.

Marlin is one freaky, evil, perverted SOB.  I don't know how you managed to control Dean at the start, I am so looking forward to him eventually taking Marlin apart, maybe that's option 3.

That was very cruel, making Tim into such a nice, ordinary, understanding, though very big and strong opponent in the death match.  This was torture for Dean at a much more refined level.  (Loving every minute of it).

Hope you had a great Christmas and thanks for the update.. Jane

Author's Response: We're not quite to the Marlin dismantlin yet...but getting there.  Thanks so much for reading andcommenting.  I'm glad you liked Tim.

Oh, Dean's just dripping venom here, payback is going to be a bitch!!  I am so looking forward to Dean unleashed....lol

Poor Sam, everyone in there wants a piece of him (understandable I guess!!).  They are both each others greatest strength and greatest weakness, unable to say no to anything that might keep the other safe.

I was so delighted when the Impala turned up, I could understand Sam trying to make a break for it. At least she's in the compound with them now.

Please don't leave Sam in that sweat box for too long, please update soon.  Thanks.  Jane

Author's Response:

Thanks so much.  I'm looking forward to the unleashing too.

Yeah!!  Well, my joy at seeing another chapter of The Game posted was exceeded only by my extreme joy at seeing Marlin, left gurgling in his own blood, as his life ebbs away.  One down...... I guess Sam won't need to worry about him any more.  It's not often we see Dean at his most merciless but I think it was more than justified here, Dean unleashed, certainly worth the wait!!

I love the way you've shown Sam drawing strength from Dean, even being comforted by his words.  He's had a rough time but he's always known that Dean would come save him - or die trying.  The bond between them is so evident, whether they are together or not.

Thanks for another thrilling chapter, looking forward to the next one.  Jane

Author's Response:

Thanks so much Jane, I appreciate all your comments.  I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.

I was soo happy to see this update, the tension remains as high as ever.  I wasn't expecting Dean to be so distraught over killing Marlin (probably because I was so looking forward to it and he so deserved it) but it was so typically Dean to put himself through the wringer.  I'm pleased Sam's voice was there to reassure him, Marlin was a Demon unto himself, black smoke or not!!

Your description of Sam suffering in that sweat box had my skin crawling, the agony of the cold, the sand the thirst and hunger, not to mention his poor eyes.... Dean's voice, the only thing holding it all at bay.  Wonderful stuff!!

Del Villar doesn't know what's headed his way, or he'd be hightailing it out of there right about now.  I think Deans' just about reached the end of his tether.  Please update soon, Sams' suffered enough......lol.  Thanks.  Jane

Author's Response: Thanks so much Jane!  I think Del Villar might have taken on a bit more than he bargained for this time.

Yeah, Del Villar's finished with and Sam's been saved.  So good to see the boys together again.  Hopefully Carter can patch him up as good as new, I think Dean could probably do with a litle patching up himslef.  He sure is awesome when he wants to be, loved the Alpha Male bit!!

The fight scenes were very impressive, and Dean's desperation to get to Sam and get him out of that box was a real testament to their need for each other.

Love the story, don't want it to end but can't wait for the next couple of chapters.  It will be good to see the boys back in the Impala and heading for the hills!!  Thanks.  Jane

Author's Response: I think both brothers will be very  happy to be out of there.  Thanks so much for reading.
