Date: 01/06/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 For a moment I had a problem with a civilian saluting a member of the military, no matter how respectfully...but then I remembered that Dean Winchester is and has always been a soldier of the first line, just fighting a different army in a different war. This piece was very poignant for me as I get ready to go to Arlington National Cemetery next week to bury my best friend who recently gave his “Last Full Measure.” Well done. Author's Response: I hear you about a civilian saluting. But as I responded to below to another review, in Good God Y'all, there is this mutual recognition between Dean and the veteran, so within the world of the show, I think it works (though it's not strictly proper). I am so sorry about your best friend. We ask so much of our military, and the job they do is incredibly hard. One of my best friends was in Iraq for three tours, mostly far in country. Date: 25/07/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Knowing that Dean's necklace was only a prop pulled from a box and was never intended as part of the story, I have always hated it...especially when the writers explained it away by making it the God finder that didn't work. Yours is such a simple and much more realistic way of explaining something that really should have never been. This is the way I'll choose to remember it. Thanks so much for posting. You know, I have read and re-read this review many times before responding. It kinda of took me by surprise as I have always though of Dean's amulet as something special, even before it was a God-finder. And... “Hey......yeah, I’m on my way......sure, just a gallon?......1%......and bread......okay, I’ll see you in a bit.”...by far the saddest line in the whole story. Excellent job, TWF.
