I liked the references to 9ft Sam and his minor league alcohol tolerance! Poor old Dean starting out hurt before any demon gets their mitts on him. The mixture of banter and angst was good and I liked the give and take between the brothers and Jo.
Author's Response: Alison. Hey sweety! lovely to hear from ya and looking forward to seeeing ya again soon. Thanks for coming to review and yeah I enjoyed having Sam be a lit of a light weight when it comes to beer! Love Bev xx PS: watch out for Racoons!

Just to say that I was going to review this chapter by chapter, but since I've read the whole thing I'm leaving a story review instead. I enjoyed this- not sure poor old Dean did- you've certainly given him a thorough pasting! I liked the angelic brothers with their similarities (as well as differences) to the Winchester brothers and the fight to save Michael/daemon as well as Dean was interesting. Nice to see Sam in action trying to save his brother. The hints about Dean and what the daemon was after have got me rushing over to "So Not An Angel". See you next weekend! Author's Response: Hey Rabid Racoon lady!! Thanks for reviewing hunny much appreciated and glad you liked it. It was my very first multi chapter story and I am very fond of it. Will be so cool to see ya next week! Love bev x Summary:
This is the sequel to The Fallen and picks up three days after those events. Dean has his own inner daemons to face as he explores how his time with Mikey and the angels has changed him, as does funky bad-boy angel Uriel!
Amazing banner by BulletBabe - you rock Hun! So it's going to be an interesting journey for them both. I'd recommend you read The Fallen first if you have time as the characters in So Not An Angel have their birth there. References to Angels, God and religious faith and some swearing. Oh and of course, because it's me, descriptions of injuries and pain! but nothing too bad! As always I don't own the boys Kripke does lucky man! I really feel sorry for poor Uriel itching to be a part of the action, feeling guilty about the daemon and his brother's posession, but still needing to heal- sounds a bit like one of the other set of brothers! I like the mixture of lighter moments with the more angsty ones. Dean is certainly not the full shilling at the moment (as my Granny would have said) though I definitely couldn't argue with having three Sams around (though three Deans would be even better!). Again, I'm curious to know what is going on with Dean. The angels definitely know and his reaction to their arrival was intersting to say the least as he seemed to be aware of their imminent arrival! See you soon So, on to chapter 3... Author's Response: Wooha ya came back! thanks hun! Ah yes, Dean's still a bit out of it and yeah three Sammy three Dean's always welcome at my house too! Do ya like Uriel? He's a bit of a beggar to be honest, heart's in the right place but he's a funky bad boy angel! Oh and yeah Dean has a lot od issues with the angels and yeah he has a bit of a freaky heads up as to their whereabouts since the binding! Read on hunny hope you'll like it. Bve xx

Date: 17/05/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Nightmares Well Bev, I've made it to "So Not an Angel"! What a way to start with an already battered Dean! I like the fact that the magic CW healing hasn't taken over. The nightmare that Dean went through must have taken its toll on him, and it's interesting to see the parallel Angel situation with Uriel. Though what more can you do to an already tortured and bleeding Dean (dare I ask... only slightly evil grin)? I am intirgued to know what the daemon saw in Dean that made him as juicy a gift as Sam. It's interesting to see that Dean is worried about this, apparently more so than his brother's links to the YED. The nightmares have really got hold of Dean and seem to be a major issue- will they play a major part? Anyway, I'm enjoying this follow up to "The Fallen" and will be moseying along to the next chapter... Author's Response: Yeah, hey Hunny! No, i don't do miracle cure...umm well apart from when the healer angel's heal and I have made Dean a healer haven't I? so apart from that! I don't do dead one min and dancing the next! Umm, I do still have afair ammount of torture lined up for him babe, I like my Dean suffering a bit. And the daemon saw that without Dean Sam'd crumble, that Dean was a crucial and powerful element of the Winchester team. Then after the binding and Dean adding his 'power' to that of the angels it reinforced Belial's notion that Dean is a prize that Lucifer'd enjoy! And if ya fancy reading on you'll see more of the dreams and nightmares play in and i hope it'll become clearer! Thanks very much for reviewing hun, love a review! bev xx

Date: 20/05/08 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Rutting Stags Hi there Bev! Yes, I do like Uriel, he reminds me a bit of one of the Winchesters... Ooh! Dean can sense each angel separately and he is obviously seriously traumatised after his little adventure with "Mikey". It's not surprising that he's having problems faced with Michael and being too injured to be able to hide his feelings or to physically remove himself from this. It was interesting to see Uriel's defence of his brother Michael and then Sam's defence of Dean. Not sure that the world is ready for a Sam'n'Archangel face-off! At least Sam is finding out more about what has happened to Dean- and I love the line about so not an angel it's just perfect for Dean Alison Author's Response: Hey hunny! Ah! I'm pleased that you like my Uri as I'm extraordinarily fond of him and his angel brothers. He's not an architypal angel but his heart is good. Yup, Dean was really traumatised by his time with Mikey and consequently, if unfairly, Michael scares the shit outta him! And I hope the brother to brother comparisons and contrasts are interesting as they are deliberately designed to have one relationship hold the other to the light and vice versa. Oh and yup! Dean is..So NOT an angel!! See ya soon hun and thanks for the review Bev xx Summary:

I liked the mood changes and the different view points of the three Winchesters. The descriptions were spot on and I liked the way Dean tried to make the best of it for Sam until the final floor insult and then Sam returned the favour with Dean. I must say that I giggled at the crime scene crack about the accomodation. See you next weekend- Rock on Racoons! I really liked the description of Sam tackling his plaster itch and I think you've supassed even Eric's motel horrors with the "Barbie" room- so un-Winchester it's brilliant! I like the way you've woven in Dean's feelings about John, his guilt and loss alongside keeping up his Sammy protector image. It's just the right balance for Dean. I'm waiting to find out what's in store with the laundry room.... This is a great first chapter and it's definitely got me hanging on for the next chapter. Another great chapter- laundry has never seemed so fraught with danger... It was heart wrenching to see Dean's past recollections of falling asleep waiting for laundry while on "Sammy duty" and the thought of the threatened punishment from John. Then you hit me with that snippet of the three Winchesters outside their house and the devastating realisation by Dean that hisife has been torn apart, but still not fully understanding it. Loved the trusty chopstick and Sam and I can fully sympathise with his struggles to get into the pain killers! Let's hope that Sam twigs that something's wrong quickly! Alison P.S. Did you get my e-mail? I sent it to your yahoo address. Author's Response: Hi Alison, Pleased you like the scary laundry!! Poor Dean is revisiting some pretty bleak moments from his childhood in this one. He's not long lost his dad and I feel he would be pretty cut up inside by it all. Yeah, how difficult is it to open those bottles even with two good arms! Dean's not so keen on the trusty chopstick, unfortunately... I've not quite got to grips with my yahoo mail yet, I've only just discovered IM. Ntl's still my main email. I'll try and figure out how to get on there though. I love the reminiscences from their childhood that you weave into the story. Dean protecting Sam as usual and torn between doing that and fear for his father's safety- gets me every time! The segue into the present for Dean in the ambulance was very well done and I like the way you transfer from one brother to the other. Really looking forward to chapter 4 (and not as it means the end of the story)... Alison Author's Response: Hi Alison, Sam took his time but got there in the end - Bless him! You've kept up the mixture of humour, quiet moments, complete angst and mental torture very well throughout this story. I liked the way you brought round Dean's memories of his father to a point of understanding. The balance of understanding, frustration and heartbreak between the brothers was very good. I couldn't stop the odd "something in my eye" with Dean feelngs of safety when Sam was near and then the absence and fear... Muriel was a great character as well- loved the Hunters Lodge and OH NO- rabid raccons after the boys' groceries and lurking in their room!!! Brilliant! Lovely story, but I'm sad it's finished- I'm certainly going to be looking out for your next story... All the best, Alison Author's Response: Hi Alison, Yeah! I've actually finished my first story, we'll have to work on you now!! Thanks you for your very kind comments, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I had great fun writing it. I'm glad you felt Dean had reached a point of understanding with John, the poor darling had to go through the wringer to get there though! Sorry about the 'something in the eye' moments, Dean is so sweet when he's all vulnerable. I did write a little spoof ending where Muriel reveals herself as a Demon hell-bent on killing the boys right at the end, but that wasn't true, she's just a sweet little lecherous old lady. As for the racoons, i'd kinda promised myself that they would be in there somewhere - just in case Sterlings out there in need of a fright!
