I was really wrapped up in this story and patiently waited for updates when I saw it on the supernatural fiction forum. I didn't review it at the time as I was a confirmed lurker and very nervous! It is a great story. I really liked the way you kept the direction of season 1 within your alternate events.

Date: 08/10/07 Title: Chapter 5: You will never know if you are quick, until you poke a mountain lion with a stick….. I've got as far as chapter 5 now! Great descritption of Dean and then Sam realising that Dean's become a mountain lion and only Sam could get away with calling Dean Buttercup! Date: 30/10/07 Title: Chapter 13: Not a hunt…More like a chance encounter… Finally finished reading this- so sad its over! I really enjoyed the story-waiting for Dean's next change and poor Sam's see-sawing emotions. Nice way to finish back at the fair, I did a double take at first but it was great. Date: 31/08/07 Title: Chapter 1: Thunder and Lightening: Very, Very Frightening I've just found this story and I'm really enjoying it! I loved the Wizard of Oz/ Kansas references and Dean's rambles about The Big Valley- looking forward to the next chapter! Thanks so much for the review! I'm so glad that you are liking it so far - I'll be really interested to hear how you feel about it as it progresses... Can't seem to keep away from the Wizard of Oz ref's - they're just a natural! I was a little worried that the Big Valley reference would be too obscure, but apparently a lot of us are fans of it too!

I'm glad Dean is finally out from under that house.I liked Dean's grudging admission about the magnetic keys and Sam's reaction to his brother's "I'm fine"-ignoring it. Date: 22/06/08 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Pen mightier than the sword. I really enjoyed this Louy. I liked the way you built up the tension and sustained it across the whole story with little pauses to regain breath. The first chapter's cliffie with the prospect of BBQ'd Dean was a real nail biter. I could see Dean pulling off the disguise- he can be a real chamelion when he wants to be (he wouldn't survive the "family business" otherwise). I really liked the way you built up the tension around the book and its significance. The snippets of Dean's losses- home, normal, Sam to Stanford, as the demon goes in for its attack on him were a definite touch of something in my eye and nicely played out. Nice touch with tricky Sam using big brother instinct to reach Dean after the attack! You've got the characters so well. The angst, brotherly fights and tensions, their underlying affection and inability to just talk to each other, while bobby rings true for his paternal attitude to the brothers and his ability to guide and support them when needed. I've got to go and read the rest in this series now- thanks for a great read, Alison Summary:

Date: 19/05/08 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Of pickles and pies Hi there Louy, I've made a start on this and so glad I did! The opening description of Bonnie was well done moving from the ultra "nice" to very disturbing as was the gradual reveal of her cellar guest. You've got the brothers down pat. Their characters rang so true and I loved Dean's parting shot about adoption! Two very different, but equally daunting OAP's in one story- now that's quite a twofer! It's a grewat story and a relief amid all the season finale woe. On to chapter 2... Alison Author's Response: ALISON!!! Date: 19/05/08 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Sheep in wolf's clothing. Grr! I spent ages writing out a review and then my connection went haywire! Anyway, back to business-another great chapter, Louy. I really enjoyed reading it. I loved the Dean and knitting-armed wrinklie face off! And Sam's line "Dean. Bro, walk away from the little old lady." is a classic! Miss Jessop is a wonderful character. But I'm glad I don't have to meet her in real life. Bonnie is shaping up to be a really creepy villain. I am so glad that I wasn't eating when I read the eyeball bit! Two very different, but definitely scary OAP's in one story- it's quite a twofer! And then there are two ghosts. The second ghost interested me as he reminded me of Bonnie's "guest" and I'd like to know just what she's up to there. I'm also curious to know more about Miss Jessop's young ghost and why she called in for help when she seems quite happy to have him around. That was really sneaky of you Louy, here I was giggling away at the brothers and you go and throw Dean through a window!!! Hopefully this attempt will post OK (or I'll have to lie down in a dark room and whimper) Alison Author's Response: That happens to me all the time!! lol Bonnie is a creepy villain but you know what?..I have a real soft spot for her...don't know why, just do...lol. Date: 20/05/08 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Out of the frying pan and into the fire Another great chapter Louy, I could really sympathise with Sam and his mercy dash to get to Dean. I liked the crowd reactions to Dean's plight and the added urgency of the "help" on its way. Just what they don't need! I think Sam should have taken that picture of Dean. Visiting Bonnie cannot be a good idea! I liked Dean's comments about her chinaware and Sam's eyes. You've got me wondering which of the boys she's got her eyes on- obviously the blood from Dean is ominous, but then she dropped that comment about Sam's hands... I'm glad to see Dean working things out as well as Sam, even if he does end up on the wrong side of a ghost attack. I liked the reference to the boys' understanding that not everything supernatural is necessarily evil. I'm still intrigued by the young ghost and his link to Miss Jessop and she's obviously not in the same league as dear, sweet psychotic Bonnie. Let's hope it's a good sign for the Winchesters. Date: 20/05/08 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Ice cubes and Eskimos I'm stillhaving serious trouble with my internet connection so let's hope this posts OK. Hello again Louy, I liked the way you depict Dean's thought processes and reactions- (they are very Dean) and Miss Jessop is still on form. Bonnie's plans are not sounding good for Dean (or Sam either), but the brothers splitting up is never a good thing and Dean and Roberts are clearly destined for another round. Let's hope it doesn't involve any airborne activities! I enjoyed seeing Sam finally getting "the drop on" Miss Jessop to make her tell him what's going on. It looks as if Dean still needs his wrinklie angel though if Bonnie's plans go ahead. And the cop's just worried about his paperwork (- tough on him?!) and now he's trying to be all nice to John and sound sympathetic. I felt that there should have been more attention to the effects of possessed Sam's attacks on Dean in the show and this was an excellent way to do so.
