I've been hooked on Supernatural from the pilot episode. I've always liked horror.  Give me the good old fashioned goosebumps on your skin, lock the door of your car, afraid to go into your house kind of terror.  And Supernatural gives me a weekly booster shot.

I started writing with the encouragement (and nagging) of ShinyWinchesterGun. My second story became part of series thanks to the support (and threats) of other new-found friends on the site, Glyconut and Synera.

But I think my real passion is reading.  There are so many amazing stories!  And I leave a review for every chapter I read.  The author has put so much of herself/himself into that chapter that I feel it's only fair to reward their good work.  I believe reviews help writers to progress, give encouragement, and determine our Top Tens.

The great thing I've found on this site as opposed to other sites I've visited, is that the people here truly care about each other. They lend support, ideas and kicks in the pants when you need it. I've made lasting friends of all ages and from nearly every continent here. This is my online home.

I'm honored and thrilled to have been voted the Runner Up in 2009 UnGen awards.  Thanks to everyone who gave me a try and read one of my stories.

Summary:

Making a deal with a Demon can be an unseemly business. Especially when you discover that the deal you've made has endangered your sons in ways you hadn't foreseen. Now they've grown up apart and unaware and things need to be set right. General AU oddness.

Clever comment about Days of Our Lives.  I also like the remark about Jess being way out of Sam's league (like in the pilot).

Oh no!  Not again!  Dean shows up and Jess dies.

Author's Response: Yeah, I tried to throw little things from the show into the story, just to show how the AU could have run parallel to the 'actual' story we know and love!  Glad you noticed!

Geez, you made me feel uncomfortable and I was only reading about meeting the family.

Missouri---yeah!!!

Author's Response: Sam's family did turn out to be a leeeetle bit scarier than I'd originally intended!  Well, his grandma, anyway!

Yay Missouri---love that gal!

Dean on the ceiling!  I can't believe it!

This story is wonderfully unpredictable!  What a ride!

Author's Response: I'm really glad you're not finding it predictable because I always dread getting to that stage in any of my stories!  I worry that it might happen if I write too much SN...  But for some reason I can't stop writing SN...!

Once again, just like in the show, Sam leaves Dean.  At least I can take comfort in knowing they must get back together or there wouldn't be 3 chapters left.  :-)

Author's Response: Hah haaaah, a cunningly observant reader...  I figured we'd had a lot of Sam introspection up until this point, so it was really Dean's turn...  Read on!

How do you sleep at night with your brain twisting stories?  It doesn't matter tome because I love the results!

Author's Response: Ah, you've worked out that I'm an insomniac then...!

Incredible!  There are so many good one-liners and so much weighty angst.  Luuuuv it!

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed the big(ish) finish!  Thanks for reviewing!  You've made my Christmas Eve!

Not too sweet for me.  I always like a little dessert after a good meal and this hit the spot!

Author's Response: I was never sure whether that tag scene would work, so I'm glad it worked for you!  Thanks for reading and congrats on finishing!

Wonderful!  I can understand Sam not wanting to return to his 'normal' life.  He isn't the same person who dreamed those dreams.  His goals are different now.

Author's Response:

*waves* Hi there!!! Happy to see you liked it. This one doesn't get much action *lowers voice and whispers* I suspect its because its a death fic. ;)

So, I'm thrilled when someone is willing to give it a chance :D. Thank you so much for reading and leaving feedback--I very much appreciate it!

I love that you describe Dean's responsibility for Sam with a loving perspective---like it isn't a duty, but an act of enduring love.

"ya huh"---perfect kid line!  The interaction between the four kids is so cute!  It doesn't drive me crazy reading it like it does when my children act it out.  I wonder why?

I like that you portray John in a sympathetic manner.  He has regrets about the way he's raised his children, but has done his best and has made the choices he has for their survival and out of love.

You've done an exquisite job explaining the conflicting emotions of Dean and Kerri!  I don't think I've read a more stirring introspection of Dean's hopes and fears.

The watcher is an interesting character.  You've set up the story perfectly!  Can't wait to see how it unfolds!

I think I enjoy the chapters of explanation better than the chapters of action.  You have such a gift for putting the right words together to capture my emotions!  I especially like the phrase "children of tragedy."  It describes them perfectly and explains their life in a soul-weary way.

Good balance between the responsibilities that weigh them down and their struggle to be kids.  I like to see them intereact with one another as children do.  The words they use when they argue and their mannerisms are clearly those of children, especially Sam's and Ev's.  It enables us to see the contrast in Dean as he is and as he sees himself.

I love to see Dean through Kerri's eyes.  She has such an acute perception of him.  She's good for him!

It was great to get a peek inside Sam's head!  Well-done!

I love the mystery and drama you've begun this story with!  It's good to see it continue throughout!

I never thought of The Pied Piper being scary before, but when you think about someone leading all the children from a town it really is!  What a perfect story to hint about the Watcher.  Very clever of you!

I totally love the description of Sam's s'more covered face, especially when you add bits of napkin to it!

Sam didn't do what Ev's going to say he did?  Hilarious!  So was Dean's remark.

Ooooh, spooky!

The Harrison's house sounds wonderful!  Is it based on a real house or one in your creative world?

How cute that Sam is trying to be like Dean when he comforts Ev.

I'm glad the kids are calling their dads.  I was afraid Dean would get too caught up in trying to be perfect and make the mistake of dealing with all this himself.

Good cliff hanger!

I like the line about not needing to be quiet when your cover was blown.  Smart thinking!

The thoughts Kerri has about John and her dad are so perceptive.

What a cunning spirit!

Each of these kids take upon themselves such huge burdens.  It just makes me angry at their fathers.  But without foolish fathers there would be no story.

Very strong, powerful words---"if Dean were dead the world would know it."  What a touching sentiment!

Oh no!!! Why can't they just stay in the house and be frightened 7 year olds?!  I want to cover my eyes with my hands, but then I wouldn't be able to finish reading.  It's like watching a movie when the heroine walks into the dark room and you know the monster is there.

This has been such an intruiguing and suspenseful story I almost hate for it to end.  *sigh*
