Date: 24/08/07 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Teaser Hey, Terry! What an awesome story! I don't know how I'd not read this before, but I'm sure glad I have, now! It had all the good stuff...blood, oozing wound, sick!hurt!Dean, angsty!Sam, just great. Loved it. There's the Peabody Mansion outside of Chicago (Peabody Award & Peabody Coal) that has quite a history. My son is a deputy sheriff up there and goes to that place a lot. The staff is always glad to see him and let him have the run of the place. It has been rumored to be haunted and some weird stuff has happened there. He scared the crap out of himself in the attic yesterday. When he told the staff, they said they don't go up there. Anyway, I've been there and that's what I pictured when I was reading this. I've been on those kinds of roads, too. *shudder* Just very well done, my dear. I liked your author's comments, too. They made me laugh out loud. Thanks for putting this out there for us! Hurt!Dean and angsty!Sam go a long way with me and this story was very satisfying. I loved the conversation before Dean lay down that last time. Too bad the boy has to be sick/injured to open up like that, but that's part of him being Dean. Well done. I had to. I'm glad I did, too. Dean has come a little way back and I'm sure will ultimately help with the hunt for Dominic, but his first priority, as it always has and should be, is Sam. Dean silently wished he could feel so blissed out, that he could forget his time in Hell and actually enjoy Christmas with Sammy. He wanted to bury his thoughts and take a real break, suddenly wanting to make this holiday special for his brother just like Sam had done for him last year. Each it seems hadn’t felt like celebrating at the time, but for their brother they were willing to bury their own hurts and make it happen. He could do this… for Sammy. Minor S4 spoilers.
