Holy crap! Nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this posted! What a great surprise! And no, I'm definitely not naive enough to think that Sam would get to Dean without some kind of drama...what fun would that be! Although it didn't stop me from howling in frustration!

This is a fantastic, brilliant fic! It's by far my favourite of all the fics, and I've read many! I love Dean whumpage and I think it's all the more satisfactory as it doesn't seem gratuitous in this fic and is actually necessary for the plot and the situations you've set up. Also that while he's hurt, he still retains the great Dean snarkiness which rings true even in the narration from his POV. You've captured the personalities of the brothers perfectly and I love their banter, and their wit that's still present even in a stressful situation- true Winchester style. Great and I love that it's all been over the phone- that's a bit different very nice. I'm on the edge of my seat wondering what Svetlana's going to do, and hoping Sam gets there soon! And how's Sam gonna react when he finds Dean dangling on the edge of a cliff? Even if he gets there is there really anything he can do? Can Bobby find a way for the brothers to ice Svetlana? SUSPENSE! Great work, please update soon as I check every day for the next chapter- please don't have abandoned this!
Author's Response: WE havent abandoned this story and I personally have to take the majority of the blame for the long delay. Both Steph and I are writers on the Supernatural Virtual Season which is going to premier Season three at the end of February -and ... unfortunately- my attention has been a bit tooooooo centered on the two part premier. But - I promise that the next chapter of Living on the Edge is not far from being ready for you all- and thanks sooo much Aigredoux for the very generous praise!

It's really not fair that a pistachio demon gets to launch itself at Dean. I've been good all year - why didn't Santa give me an injured, helpless Dean trapped immobile on the front seat of the Impala? And I bet the stupid demon'll just try and eat him. Honestly. Demons are dumb... Er... Where was I? Oh yeah - this was a brilliant chapter! Again, the boys might be separated, but their banter is still superb - especially Dean trying to get Sam to call him a jerk. It's also telling that even though he doesn't want to admit it, Dean feels more secure when he has Sam on the phone. Awwww. Okay, this cliffie's been here long enough. Hurry up with the resolution!!

Author's Response: Thanks Kayla- but as we so clearly have seen in Season 3- Dean always seems to push Sam's buttons- even when he's dying and going to burn in hell- so whats a broken leg and hanging off a cliff with a demon in the back seat???

Firstly, Merry Christmas and here's to a job well done with the in-laws, you can't beat a real fire at Christmas!!....lol Secondly, oh yes, it was truly worth the wait. Fear, panic and just a little desperation starting to settle in nicely. Not to mention the mother of all cliffhangers to keep us on tenterhooks until the next one!! Great dialogue and spot on with the humour, with Sam getting all bitchy and Dean starting to tell the truth at last, well a little bit of the truth anyway. Loving the story and so looking forward to the next chapter. J

Oh I just love the way you just get Dean all nice and settled and cosied up in Sam's fleece, then just when my guard goes down, there's some manic, Russian, red-eyed, fanged beasty sitting in the Impala waiting for a nice warm snack!! Brilliant conversations going on, great humour/snark/bitching, then a panicing Bobby to really calm us down. Wonderful pace and tension! J.
