Ahh that was beautiful, such a sweet ending, so much love that despite its sad topic I am smiling. Thank you.

Its the ol' MUSKEETEER STATEMENT . . . One for all and all for one  . . .  that is what a WINCHESTER trully is.

This thing is getting to piss me off ore and more and indeed the boys need to rest, but this thing is pushing the wrong buttons and my imaged brain thinks that someone is going to be hurt seriously if not worse.

Aw, I love that song 'Dance with the Devil', it's one of my favorite, I recognized it right away. Anyway, this is a cool story. :P

In the empty moonlight, unseen by anyone or anything one brother sobbed, choking endlessly on years of bitter sorrow, and a single tear shone crystalline on the cheek of the other. - Just beautiful, love that for the moment, Dean finally allowed himself to take comfort from Sam.  And that Sam for his part realized what his brother needed.  Great read-  ;)  Kel

I loved that this entire chapter was done from Sam's point of view.  Sam's realizations of just why Dean is what he is was also really well done.  Great story so far, moving on ;)  Kel

You have been writing something before this, right? This's very well and beautifully written, so thoughtful and poignant. You're really talented :)

Author's Response:

I've been writing bits and pieces, but this is the first one that I ever managed to finish and post!

One day I might get round to finishing off some of the other stuff I've got sitting on the hard drive...

so loved this - from the whiskey to try and blot out the pain, through the self harm in the shower to the final allowing in to let Sam hold Dean together for a change.  Beautiful, moving - just sweet!  Thank you

Amazing!  So much emotion and mystery.  I love the role reversal and the insight Sam has into Dean's position as protector.

Reviewer: Cookie6 (Signed) · Date: 13/11/07 05:37 AM · On: Chapter 2

That was amazing.  *applause* The role reversals, the absolute honesty between our boys, the insync pov, the utter desolation of the failed hunt all triggered by the the horrific decision Dean was forced into making. Some fics just hit the heart of our boys better than others, and this one of yours is right up there.

Congrats on a stunning piece of work. I loved it, you had me rivetted. And it's your first *WOW*

WOW...that was beautiful, i loved how dean finally let sam be there for him....amazing story

Author's Response: Thanks to everyone for your reviews - I'm well and truly addicted to them now though...!

Powerfully finished. Love the way Dean sees crying and expressing emotions as normal, healthty releases - for Sam! Your portrayal of Dean breaking was so well written "sobs that felt as if they would rip his throat out as easily as any warewolf or vampire could" - it's almost as if he sees showing his emotions to be as dangerous as hunting. And my favorite; "he was tearing off pieces of his heart and soul... offering them to the one person he could ever trust with them" - awesome stuff!!!

Excellent start! There were a lot of great aspects to your story, some of my favorites were; the way you switch between past and present (the hunt and aftermath), Sammy seeing through Deans eyes as their roles are reversed and especially loved the way you depict them communicating without words. The tension in this chapter really worked too - what the heck happened in Jerome?!!!!

Amazing, beautiful story, cal. Don't know what else to say....Kudos to you! I can't wait for another one of your fantastic stories.

Wow. This is amazing, cal! Absolutely love it. The emotion you can bring up is incredible--I'm really impressed! And congrats on making the featured stories list!

well done!

Reviewer: Janger (Signed) · Date: 12/11/07 06:50 PM · On: Chapter 2

Wow, what an incredibly powerful, moving story, hard to believe it's your first.  I'm sitting here with my eyes streaming, that last line is a real killer!!

Do we get to find out more about the hunt that went so terribly wrong - please??

Great story... Thanks Jane

Author's Response:

I've been trying to write the story about the hunt, but it keeps turning out too gruesome. Taking a bit of a break from that one for a while - got a couple of other stories on the go, but i'll try again soon...

(and i know it's horrible, but i'm glad i'm not the only person who cried at the end!)

thanks

That was truly beautifully written. You gave the brothers such depth and emotion that it nearly broke me when you shattered their walls. Amazing story, it touched my heart.

This is a great piece of writing for a first fic - well done calUK.

Just e-mailed you about the layout - a little hard to read the 2nd chapter but I really hope this doesn't put readers off, as this is quality work!

Looking forward to what you come up with in the future.

Author's Response: Just edited the second chapter some - so hopefully it'll be a bit easier to read. Thanks!

Reviewer: buttercup (Signed) · Date: 12/11/07 03:43 PM · On: Chapter 2

WOW that was really powerful and emotive, even more so as it was your first fanfic!! In my opinion you should definitely keep writing :)

Don't worry about it being a bit heavy, for some reason the fanfic I'm working on at the mo (also a bit sad) is quite emotional as well...guess thats just how it works lol.

Anyhow, WELL DONE ON A GREAT JOB
