I love the bureaucrat slump replacing Winchester swagger, this really conjures up a visual transformation. I reckon that swagger will be back by the time they reach Gallows Hill. Let's hope it's a very long meal, or that Dean can create enough havoc for John to reach him in time..... I love the story, it's not good news at all that it's on the downhill swing, apart from the fact that it brings us a little closer to John's Fury!! Happy New Year, Jane

Oh, I do like the sound of a resurgence of Winchester gumption.....Young Dean, beaten and without any hope for Sammy is almost too much to bear. We need him to go cause a riot!! So pleased that Sam's back safe and sound, though a little traumatised, feeling guilty at seven for leaving his big bro. I can't wait for Abigail and William to feel the wrath of the Winchesters, maybe put an end to that circle of 13 at the same time.....Great update. Jane
Author's Response: Thank you! A riot may be on the horizon. Felt like if Dean really thought Sammmy was dead, he'd wallow a bit. Suspect a younger Dean might not bounce to the totally p@##$# reaction the adult one would quite as quickly. And yeah, circle's not gonna survive this, at least not intact.

I´m glad Sammy is safe with Jim, but I can´t figure it out how John is going to find Dean. And poor Dean, as always if Sam is not around he doesn´t care about himself, but I liked the end with Dean beginning to get angry and trying to formulate a plan....... Please make John hurry and also you to update the next chapter. Nice present for the beginning of the new year.

Author's Response: Chapter was edgy to write too - the implications are a bit stomach churning and I didn't want to delve in too deeply there - enough to be clear that Derrick is disgusting and that he never did anything to Sam aside from that kick on the way to school - scaring the kid's bad enough!

I have enjoyed reading this story so far and this chapter was a nail biter. I was thinking how are they going to find Sammy now and then it ends up being John. I definitely did not see that one coming. I look forward to the next chapter.

You had me worried there! Thank the Lord that it was John at the end, nice twist. Now I've just got to worry about poor Dean, he's taking a few knocks in this one and he's going to be feeling even worse thinking Sammy's been killed. So Bill and Abigail are in league together. Maybe Derrick will prove to be the weakest link there. I think John was very well behaved in the police station - all things considered. He's not exactly renowned for being overly patient!! I loved Dean waking up in the dungeon checking out his surroundings before opening his eyes. The line "Somehow he didn't think that came up in most father-son lectures, but that didn't mean it wasn't good advice.", sums up such a lot. Great update J.
