i cant wait for the next chapter to see what happens when dean finally confronts sam

Author's Response: I'm sorry to say it will probably be awhile until another chapter posts.  My computer blew a gasket and I'm hopeful that all of my stories in various stages are still there, but I don't know at this point.  Life is very busy now, but eventually I will be finishing this story.  It is embarrassing how long this story has been neglected.  Take care, B.J.

I've love each and everyone of your stories.  I hope you continue with this one.  Its one of my favorites and I need to know what happens! :)

Author's Response: Thank you!  I appreciate the kind words.  And I apologize for not finishing this story in a timely manner.  It will be completed at some point, but I can't say when.  It is the toughest story I have ever attempted and RL is a major roadblock right now.  I just don't have the time to properly devote to it.  In the meantime, I do hope you enjoy my other stories, the ones that aren't so impossible to write.  Take care, B.J.

Well I'll only add one request then: if you can't get us an update soon (which is understandable), can you write a long and graphic scene where John murders the perv who hurt Dean?

lol.  I'd like to see Papa Winchester take sweet revenge on the monster who hurt his boy.  It probably wouldn't fit with the story, since you've had Sam's flashbacks and Envy's taunting... Maybe Bobby can remember how John murdered the guy?  I'm not picky -- I just want to see him die.  lol.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I thought you were off base with this, though.  I think what you've suggested here actually really fits (which is sad, but true, IMO).  Something like that existing in Dean's past seems so likely, given his adult pathologies, and given the rough circumstances of their childhood.

Author's Response:

No, you certainly didn't give me the impression that you thought I was off base with this story.  I think we agree that this is a very real possibility exactly for the reasons you stated, given Dean's actions and how he reacts to things and also their messed up childhoods where they were left to face things on their own at too young an age.

As far as John taking revenge, I have some thoughts but they are not fully developed.  Sam still has some things to learn, as does Dean before this story is finished.  My problem, I fear, is I have too many ideas and it is hard getting them all coherently put into the story.

This is an instance where I really could use an editor to help me sort thru and make it readable, but don't worry, I'll manage somehow.  Take care, B.J.

Oh my gosh this was so dark and despairing, but somehow rang kind of true.

I don't honestly think the show would ever go in this direction (mostly because it's a TV show, and the kind of emotional blackness these themes take us to is just too much for SN) -- but it's easy enough for the imagination to fill in the blanks of what a frightened young Dean Winchester would have done and sacrificed for his little brother.

What's frightening is that it seems so damned likely.  You think of two kids cooped up alone for days at a time in seedy motels and wonder how it's possible neither of them ever did become victims to sexual predators.

I confess I cried at this.  It made a little bit too much sense, and rang true even though, as I said, I don't think the show would ever go in this direction.  Still...  Dean is so desperate for his dad's approval, has an almost pathological sexual drive, and has no sense of self-worth whatsoever (as is obviously evidenced by his crossroads deal).  I have always honestly thought that, if he were a woman, he'd have an eating disorder to go with his raging self-loathing.

You've just captured his pain so well, and twisted it by having it revealed through the evil of that demon.  It's like you can feel the darkness nipping at him -- you're almost part of it while you read this.

I can only now beg you to finish this and give me some closure!!!

Author's Response:

I agree the show would never take this direction, but I have a psychologist pal who has been telling me since the start that the patterns of Dean's life would strongly suggest a trauma like this in his past.

She has been the encouraging me to not take the easy way out and to show how circumstance doesn't define you, how strong men rise up and face their issues and grow even stronger because of it.

Darkness is a fact with the Winchesters' lives and this is the darkest story I have ever attempted which is why it is so difficult for me to write.

I will finish it, but I actually think the long lull here will enable me to finish it out with a more sensitive touch.  I may not be able to get another chapter up before Christmas because I don't want to be working on it around the holidays for obvious reasons, but it will be my first priority after the holidays.

I again apologize for my inability to follow thru on this in a timely manner.  I've never before taken so long to update a story.  I only hope the wait is ultimately worth it.  Take care, B.J.

this is a great story but when will there be more!!!!

Author's Response:

Thanks, and sorry!  I know I've been neglecting it, but I had other stories that were easier for me to write and demanded all my attention.

This story is back to my first concern and I am working on the next chapters.  It will be completed, it just takes more time to get the chapters right.  My appologies.  Take care, B.J.

Hay, it was worth it and with the small details I found the secret! I do think that the character of DEAN WINCHESTER is of Iron, Man, a loveing and sincery Brother, and a worthy SON. Thanks I don't know if my rating of PRICELESS can count. I do love this story so thank you very much. As for that bitch, I'm glad that the body it owned did not make it. It was like a healthy thing for all three of them. Thank You!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Sam.  Yes Dean and Sam are both forged in iron to have survived their difficult lives this long.

I love your rating of priceless, thanks again.  The next chapter is being worked on and hopefully I can get it up to my standards and post soon.  Take care, B.J.

I do hope they can fix this situation very soon!!!!

Author's Response: The Winchesters always come out intact in the end.  They are our heroes and they are strong.  Thanks for reading and reviewing, B.J.

Author's Response: Yes, poor Dean, but he is strong too.  Take care, B.J.

Reviewer: sam (Signed) · Date: 15/10/08 06:19 AM · On: Chapter 4 - Pride

I would perfer to kick his LUCIFER abiding ass to some place where it can no longer harm.

Author's Response: Oh, the demon will eventually get what he deserves, unfortunately Sam will be worse off from having listened to him.

Reviewer: sam (Signed) · Date: 15/10/08 06:01 AM · On: Chapter 3 - Wrath

This is getting a little nastyer, but I do hope he send him to hell and not wait till his brother over hears what they are talking about. ' Cause that may break a family.

Author's Response: Oh, that demon is getting nastier.  It would have been best if Sam had exorcised him in the beginning like Dean wanted.

Reviewer: sam (Signed) · Date: 15/10/08 05:37 AM · On: Chapter 2 - Gluttony

Sam is stronger with in his heart then his mind in itself. I do think if Dean knew about this session he would be very happy with his kid brother. Thank You!

Author's Response: Thanks again!  Sam is trying to stay strong and fight this demon.  He loves his brother so much tho the words do hurt, but Winchesters are tough.  Later, B.J.

Reviewer: sam (Signed) · Date: 15/10/08 05:11 AM · On: Chapter 1 - Lust

No, hard feelings. This is a good story. Showing the true factors oof a demon trying to take control of poor SAMS beliefe of his own flesh and blood. This is still good.

Author's Response: Thanks, Sam,  Yes, this demon is certainly a nasty one. Take care, B.J.

i love this story so much

Author's Response: Thank you!  I know it has been awhile since the last update but the next two chapters are in the works and once I finish White Room, then Evil will be my priority.  Take care, B.J.

Still waiting on a update.  I hope you update this story real soon!!

Author's Response:

I'm sorry to take so long, I've been struggling with this story.

I am going to finish White Room which is almost done first.  WR is getting my writing juices flowing again and then I think I will be ready to tackle the very difficult issues of Evil.

I appologize for making everyone wait, but I need to make sure I do this story right.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.  Take care, B.J.

Reviewer: pendays (Signed) · Date: 08/09/08 06:41 PM · On: Chapter 7 - You Can Run But You Can't Hide

hi when will you update!!!!!!!!!

Author's Response:

Okay, I've been waiting to answer until I knew and I still don't.  I truly am sorry to drag this out so long.  I have never, ever taken so long to update a story, but then I've never been in so deep!  Rest assured though, I always finish what I start.

It isn't that I am not writing.  In fact, part of the problem is I have written too much and can't sort thru it all to present it the way I want.  This is the most intricate and sensitive story I have ever attempted.

Unfortunately the controversy is still wearing on me and for a long time kept me parazlyed and unable to work on it, just another reminder for people to think before they leap to conclusions.  Kindness really does go a long way.  That said, it is over and this story will be completed.

Right now I am going to focus on finishing White Room because that one is more in my control and I plainly see the end.  I have most of the chapters pretty much written and am just finishing up.  Once that is completed all my attention will be on Evil until it is completed.

Again, I am sorry to take so long.  I swear, I will think long and hard before ever starting a WIP again.  I simply do not like the pressure and I much prefer taking my time and writing the story that deserves to be written.

Thank you to everyone who hangs in there with me and believe me, I know I don't deserve your patience.

Take care, B.J.

great story but ive been waiting for more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author's Response:

I know, and I apologize.  I normally don't do WIP anymore, but this one seemed timely so I started it.

This is a challenging story and I want to make sure I do it right.  I am constantly working on it and hopefully since I have some extra days off work now, I can get the next chapter up.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, always appreciated.  Take care, B.J.

I have just sat and read this through for the first time tonight and I have to say its beautifully written and totally engrossing, even in its darker moments. It now 2am UK time but I couldn't go until I'd read it all.

So much of it is very true to the Dean we know and love and your imagination fills the gaps, blending (TV) truth and your fiction seemlessly.

Poor Dean, was there ever a more troubled soul.

Excellent story, thanks for sharing this.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me.  I really appreciate it.  This is a dark story, but I hope it will be an important story in revealing some of the truths of Dean.

Sam will learn who is brother is and again know why there is so much to admire about Dean.

Thanks again, B.J.

What a tantalizing, clever, riveting story!  It's one of those stories I know I'll be revisiting.  This is GENIUS!!!

Author's Response:

Again, thank you so much.  This is one of those involved, hard stories that I hope to be able to do right.

Til next time, B.J.

Take all the time you need.  Every word is priceless!  I hate to admit liking something so much when it hurts our poor Dean, but his pain is my pleasure, I guess.  Still...what a horrible experience for the little boy!

Leviathon is so crafty!  You portray him incredibly!  Every nuance, every word paints a vivid picture.  It's brilliant!

Author's Response:

You are too kind, but thanks all the same.  I can always use a little ego boost, especially concerning this story.

Leviathan is one nasty SOB, but he's about to get what he's got comin'.  Take care, B.J.

Reviewer: mymuseandi (Signed) · Date: 13/06/08 11:29 PM · On: Chapter 7 - You Can Run But You Can't Hide

Fnally the demon is sent back!! Man...i've been waiting for that, and he damn well deserved it!

All of the flashbacks that Sam had, it was brought upon by the demon's words?i know it's slightly bad that Sam keep on pushing the issue, but i also feel that he needs to know?? if only to make himself feel better and ease Dean of his burden a little...

Hindsight is 20/20, especially when grown-up eyes replace the innocent eyes of a hero-worshipping child.

I agree, hindsight is always 20/20. but i can't blame Sam since he's only a child..

Author's Response:

I think in this instance no one is to blame.  Sam was a kid and he just never knew what was happening.  Now he is starting to remember and he only wants to help Dean.

Problem is Dean would rather forget and he has always maintained that strength where he never asked or expected help.

Oh, these Winchesters, their lives are so very complicated especially when they try to hide from the truth.  Once they get rid of the rest of these demons Dean will again be confronted by Sam and the truth is destined to come out.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, much appreciated.  Take care, B.J.

I know about RL - it hits you in the face when you'd much rather be doing something else..like reading great author's great works.

I'm loving this story and in order to encourage you thought it best to write and tell you -and insist that you please please please please continue writing. I love your work  especially the Dean-centric stories.

So please keep it up

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  Your words are very encouraging and with this particular story I can use all the encouragement I can get.

I always finish a story once I start it.  This story is taking longer than normal between updates because I want to insure it is the best possible chapter before I post it.

I feel a huge responsibility to get this story right.  I'll do my best.

Thanks again and take care, B.J.

Hey BJ.

We're here having a break at Asylum, and had to log on to leave you a review. This is a really courageous chapter, and I enjoyed it even though I found it a bit upsetting to read in places. But I think that is a credit to the story and it makes for a very powerful statement.

As always, this is fluid and well written and comes from the heart.  I'm really pleased to see this update and hope the next chapter follows very soon. xxLouy

BJ. been watching for this update and when do you spring it? When we are at Asylum with only 5 mns on line time left! So wanted you to know WILL be reviewing asap when I get home as I love this challenging, beautifully crafted story.  Bird xxxx

Author's Response:

Hey, guys!

Yeah, I know, poor timing but I felt everyone had waited long enough for this update.  I hope you are all having a fantastic time at Asylum... wish I was there!  Especially cool that you all got to meet up.

Yeah, as you well know, this story is very tough for me to write and I just wasn't in the mood to work on it for a long time.  I have much more pleasant stories I can be writing, but this one seems to still want to be written.

I know it is a tough read, but hopefully with Swan's help it will bring to light some important issues and maybe help to explain Dean a little more.

Thanks for all the support over the tough road.  Later, B.J.

I was waiting for the continuation of this, and although it was long, i think it was worth it. still as intense as the previous chapters, and makes me cringe in some places, and tear in others. especially the part where Dean refused to forgive Sam. i mean, he forgives Sam for EVERYTHING!!

And the demon should really be gagged. all the lies and sowing seeds of doubt to both brothers..

I also can't believe that Dean went back to the demon, although i can understand the sheer curiosity of doing so. but won't he be leaving himself open to a world of hurt?

Author's Response:

Both boys are in a world of hurt.  They are both struggling to come to terms with the secret and time will heal them eventually.  And with time Dean will forgive Sam, after all that is his job... take care of his little brother.

Yeah, the demon was supposed to be exorcised this chapter but he got a slight reprieve.  Thanks for reading and reviewing.  Take care, B.J.

Ok, I'm a lurker. There, I said it. I've read this story twice now, and loved it both times. I'm dying to know what happens!

Great work, well done. Made me search out a few of my own sins. Hmm, think I've got five out of seven covered as well. I'd best go and work on the other two! :)

Amy x

Author's Response:

Hey, Amy, glad to hear from ya.  Yeah, we've all been there, I lurked for months before I ever got up the nerve to post anywhere.  The good news is once you start you get bolder and more vocal and they can't shut you up.  LOL

I am so glad to know you like this story.  It's been a tough one for me to write, so much controversy in addition to the difficulty in writing the subject itself.  Good news is the nest chapter is almost ready to post.  I hope I don't disappoint.

Thanks again, take care, B.J.
