Oh....my....gosh..... What the hell have the boys stumbled into? And what part does that knife play? So, Dean's about to come under mental assault of the worst kind - and he's already had a taste of it. He's going to have one hell of a fight - I hope that Sam finds him before Gustav turns his brain to jelly, because I have a feeling the man will stop at nothing to get what he wants....after all, he thinks he's a god..... Great writing - and sadly I have run out of lunch break, so I will have to return later....Jules

Lovely descriptions of the idol and the room - I could feel a cold shiver as Dean felt himself becoming mesmerised by the thing. And I find I'm asking the same question that Dean is...where is Sam? Did they take him, or did the drug finally release him? And is he hunting for Dean? Can't wait to see what the ritual is all about, and why the professor feels he has to belt/drug the hell out of the two young strangers. And we still have to find out what did happen to Sam - what MacKenzie gave him in that coffee, and why - and what is the significance of the etching on the knife's blade. Whew - so many questions, so few lunch breaks. This story has me quite hooked. I can see why Petra has been egging me on to read it.....Jules

Hello, Bullet, My good friend Petra (Cookie6) speaks quite highly of both you and this particular story, and after reading the first chapter, I can see why. I'm not usually a visual person, but I could so clearly see the action playing out in my head - from Sam's mud-covered bangs and his glare at the dashboard to Dean's eyes rolling up to the ceiling at the curio shop, to the floor moving under Sam's feet when the drug hit his system. You have a wonderful talent for description, and a true storyteller's ability to hook a reader in so that it seems they are an interested observer to the action, standing a few feet from the boys like an invisible fly on the wall. I'm currently reading this at lunchtime at work - in between the interruptions from the business consultant - lol - and I'm hoping to sneak another chapter in before the half hour is up...unless he wants me to log into online banking and play with the current balances again.... Awesome work.....Jules

I dont' know if I mentioned it before, but I love your take on Sam in this story. The fact that he is take-charge, kick-ass, and tough enough is just wonderful. The best part though is you didn't lose any of his 'samminess' in the process. That's a real testament to your talent that there's not even the smallest bit of 'evil' in your version.
