Gotta say, spiders are kind of a freak out for me too. Good chapter, my little one's asleep, so I'm gonna see if I can catch up on the other chapters of this. Oh - you asked me what I do - ICU doc mostly, a little bit of outpt clinic, but that part never reminds me of Dean's day. COurse, when I'm worrying about blood on a given day, it usually isn't mine..... Angela
Author's Response: ICU doc, huh, no wonder you need a little light relief from the horror, blood and angst - oh, no wait a minute...! Glad you've enjoyed enough to come back, and yeah, spiders always do it for me too...Thanks for the review danrac!

I've been so excited about this update and you never disappoint. I could see everything, it was like a big picture, it was actually like I was watching Supernatural on TV. I love Dean battling Gustav mentally, and throwing every bad feeling he ever had at him until he stumbled in amazement. --- His brother was safe now, concealed behind that hard built wall and no-one was getting through that. Not while Dean still had breath in his body, fire in his belly and devotion in his heart. No-one was getting through that. --Love it, that determination that Dean has whenever it comes to Sam always gets me. I'm loving big bad Sam, he's making me proud with the control and focus he has and I just love how intimidating his presence is to Mackenzie. Really loving this story and I can't wait for you to come back hun. Love Schelz / you know I could never give you anything less than 10 as your story is the best!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much Schelz, you have no idea how good it made me feel to come home to such lovely reviews...they kind of make the last few days disappear, and focussing on the next chapter is the best way of forgetting the RW... Thanks so much for this lovely review and the stars. You'e put a huge smile on my face today - as your reviews always do. X Louy

Not skinny indeed! Course if they only knew what else was in that trunk , they wouldn't be so eager to stuff Dean in there. Knda storing the matches with the gunpowder! Not sure a vacant stare is going to be Sam's best look... angela
Author's Response: Ha...Love that trunk...big enough for a body and a whole stash of weapons, what's not to love? Thanks for the review danrac, hope you continue to enjoy.

I am 99% sure this is one of the chapters I read at my parents after I downloaded a few for a weekend - no internet there = no reviews, so I don't think I'm repeating myself here. LIke this start - even the opening sentences as Dean's definition of a good day at work and mine are oddly almost exactly the same - lol. And I can understand his love for his upholstery. I drive a 1967 vehicle about half the time, have since 1985, and it's possible I'm obsessive with it. Alas it isn't an impala. Love the idea of liberating rather than just stealing those weapons - definitely Dean!
Author's Response: My God...what do you do for a living...lol And I couldn't be more jealouse, to drive a 67 is my dream, probably a black Chevelle with silver trim...hmmmmm. Anyway, I digress, thank you so much for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy...

awww Sammy helps Dean build the wall, that was adorable and beautifully written.
Author's Response: Always thought Dean carried Sam around with him somewhere...very glad you liked that part, it was one of my favourite bits to write so far... Thanks very much for the review and the stars, they are always appreciated and make me smile.

awesomeness! that was so heart-wrenching!
Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying, and it's only gonna get more wrenching of the gut in the next few chapters, but rest assured all the characters we love come out of it more or less unscathed...more or less... Thanks for the review IrishTwilight, (great name by the way) very much appreciated.

Figures that the only way to break Dean is to put the pain to Sam, imaginary or not it's the one thing Dean couldn't ignore... Great couple chapters, Bullet sorry I got so far behind...thanks for the read - Kel
Author's Response: I know that feeling - there are such great stories out there and I'm way behind on a few...hoping to catch up myself very soon...lol Thanks very much for the review Kel.X Louy

I don't even want to imagine what would break Dean, loved Sam's criminal skills, anyone that can hold someone hostage with a coke can's a master. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks kel, always though both boys should be masters of improvisation...I'm sure they'd both blow MacGyver out of the water...lol Thanks for the review Kel!

So when he did speak, he kept it short. "Its time." There's our LITTLE brother that does nothing in a small way when it comes to helping his big brother...Love the 'field' munitions such an ingenious plan..John would be proud......Love the tick mark made against Wayne...God help him because when the Winchester wrath is loosed on them Gustav will be useless.... Love our Dean trying to snap back in tiny victorious motions... Louy, this tale continues to be an absolute delight chapter after exciting chapter.. Thank you for putting this into words for us :0) jude
Author's Response: Yeah, I wouldn't want to be in Wayne's shoes right now...lol Thanks for the awesome compliments Jude, right now they mean more than ever, and thanks for the review and the lovely stars. You made me very happy today!

Bullet. Yeah our boys in there and he's gonna whup ass ( he is isn't he?) Love this darker, meaner, badass Sam - he's hot! You know I'd never really thought about Dean's nightmares all being fire related but of course they would be "His brother was safe now, concealed behind that hard built wall and no-one was getting through that. Not while Dean still had breath in his body, fire in his belly and devotion in his heart. No-one was getting through that." - and love this it's so powerful! More now Hun write it! Bev xx
Author's Response: It's coming, swear it is...got a few day's of doing nothing but writing and banners now, so hoping to get a lot done...so watch this space! Thanks for the review Bev, you rock!

Ohhh, I was hooked from the beginning. Great writing (especially the way you write the brothers). Good descriptions that paint a vivid picture. Good storyline too, you kept me intrigued throughout the whole story. Good characterization of Sam (sweet – when he needs to be, but lethal and dangerous if you get on his bad side). Can’t wait to see where this headed!
Author's Response: Thanks very much Karen, and you must be psychic, going to update this story in an hour or so...how did you know? lol Writing 'big bad Sam' is definately something I've never done before so I'm very pleased it's working for you...hope you enjoy the update X Louy

You know how I feel about this fic. I’m lost in the intensity of your story, the intensity of the characters, all wrapped up in delicious description, I can’t put it down. So the Rapture takes our darkest thoughts and attributes and exchanges them for ‘gifts’?? How intriguing, how clever, how evil, girl!! It was very creepy how you had Gustav just standing over Nancy’s bed, admiring his work, touching her with almost a reverence and even invading her privacy by breathing in her scent. This sentence just oozed that creepiness – “It gave him a deep sense of satisfaction to reflect on a job well done, and she had been a job very well done” All the hairs on my neck stood on end with that line! I shudder at your plans for what Gustav has for her Lou! “fodder for the rapture” awesome phrase, it just reeks of evil laced with insanity. You sure have one evil bada$$ on your hands! And here he is leering at Dean with the same sick ideas of ownership and appreciation. Your words here are simply awesome – “Strength was a beautiful thing, and it had taken a lot of effort on his part to break that one. The boy was soaking with innate fortitude, was the perfect choice” Gustav has Dean pegged with absolute accuracy and the idea that evil would see Dean’s strengths as tools for their cause is horrific. Because we know if Gustav were to be successful, Dean would indeed make an excellent right man. I just loved it that Dean’s unconscious mind would protect Sam as fiercely as his conscious state does. Your words where Gustav summarises John and Mary through Dean’s filtre made my skin crawl (again!), but his lack of frustration at Sam being hidden was eerie, freaky. That he found it only ‘interesting’ had my radar on overdrive, that his calm contemplation of this ‘mist is him considering how to use it to further gain control over Dean. And I sooo smirked at that henchman talking through his busted lip and missing teeth. Go Sammy! But OMG!!! Dean rebuilding his shattered wall in his mind’s eye. Damn, that whole scene, that whole concept, rocks (no pun intended!!) We know Dean’s self-protective wall, recognise it as his MO, but you bought it to life as something Dean actually does – a wall that to Dean is so tangible it’s physical. That he has to go through intense physical labour and pain to put it back just screams his need to punish and exert himself. You portrayal of the planning, effort and time needed to do this made it absolute. I loved it! The analogy of the rocks getting heavier as Dean worked harder depicted Dean’s self-debasing with heartbreaking clarity. I just cried at your beautiful words “And he couldn’t stop…had so much work still to do. Had to rebuild; had to strengthen, had to fortify” Dean rebuilding his confidence, his edge, his spirit and this will be some kicka$$ wall to launch from. But the pinnacle of this chapter was Dean building his wall with Sam. That whole scene was breath taking. You blew me away with this “…he tapped two fingers against his temple…”Always been here, dude”…and then he moved those same fingers and tapped again, this time over his chest. "Just like I’ve always been here." No wonder that rock suddenly wasn’t a burden anymore. So beautifully written. And Dean recognizing what he needed to fight Gustav – “Looking at the expression on Sam’s face, Dean saw everything he needed; the strength, the defiance, and the reflection of his own dogged determination…and together, side by side, both brothers built a wall.” Outstanding, the lump in my throat as big as one of those ginormous rocks!!! And your ending was tantalizing… the hunter back in action. Can’t wait!
Author's Response: And you've done it to me again... Thank you so much Petra, you don't know how much reading this review meant to me - it filled me with an inspiration to write that I'd lost over recent weeks. So now, you are not only a fantastic friend, reviewer, writer and confidant, you are also my muse, and I thank whoever or whatever caused you to stumble upon UnGen for that! ooo...........louy....how did I miss your posting ...this is truly one of my favorite tales.. LOVED the Sammy dream and the brothers together 'building a wall' to protect them both no doubt....Gustav has no idea how many fathoms deep Dean's strength courses especially when it comes to his Sam!! The fool!!

Ahh, hun I've waited for this moment for so long... He didn't look back..but if he had, he would have noticed the determined narrowing of Dean's eyes. I sat at my lap top in the kitchen and when I read that, I started clapping with excitement...my mum, sis and cuz turned to look at me. *moment of silence* AWKWARD! And then I just shrugged them off and started clapping again, because the whole chapter was great but the AWSOME bit was the wall building putting Dean back in the game...which to be honest, I knew you wouldn't leave Dean beaten for too long, we love him too much AND Dean Winchester always gets back into kick ass mode. I am really excited about the next chapter. You rock Lou! wooo hooo, bring on the update. Love ya Schelz
Author's Response: Awe...Thanks Schelz, this means such a lot...it's the best kind of review when someone gets taken by surprise...that's soooo cool. Thanks for the review and the rating - it means the world to me.

Fantastic! So he didn't break Dean after all?!? I was so afraid he had succeeded! I loved, absolutely loved, the imagery of Sam helping Dean build that wall--the image of the brothers working together. Great update, Lou!
Author's Response: Could never let Dean be irreparably broken, and as for him and his walls, we all seems to have our own take on what's behind them don't we? Thanks for the review and the awesom rating Ness, means the world to me.
