i almost needed tissues but my dog came in and startes licking my leg and i played with him so that saved me but very good story i loved it

Oh my god, that was so eautiful and so sad.... definately needs a tissue warning at the beginning. I'd love to see Sam's erspective on this too. You do a great job with the inner feelings of the boys. Loved it!

This is a beautiful little one-shot. If it HAS to happen, this is how I imagine it would go down too - Dean resigned and never backing down because it was a promise about Sam. Protecting Sam to his last breath by not letting him be witness, but worrying Sam would hate him for it - you did a great job. Thank goodness you decided to post that little thought you woke up with - if it moves you to tears in your head, you know it will move your readers, it sure did me. A thought...have you considered a follow-up oneshot of Sam's frantic drive to the the motel??? Would love your take on that since this IS your idea...
