Lovely, painful, horrible, amazing story! I kept waiting for him to tell Jacob to keep the money, then he walked away and cried?! wow. You wrote it so simply it couldn't help but be sad, and i loved it (in a nasty kind of way)
Author's Response: This was an idea that had been floating around in my head for quite awhile, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and left a nice little review :) If the story made you feel something, then I know I did something right! ~Sierra

Oh how we love to hurt this poor sweet, beautiful boy! You take his Mum, Dad, Sammy - oh god! and then his beloved Impala too. My heart just broke for him. Such loneliness. I'm so sad. Bev xx
Author's Response: I am a big angst lover, and torturing Dean is just too much fun! *evil cackle* Glad it made you sad...if my stories make people FEEL anything, I'm doing my job :) ~Sierra

That was devastating girl!! I got a shock when I read "ten years after his fathers death and five years after his baby brothers..." holy freakin' moly, I'm sitting here stunned!! Your words "home. Huh. That was a funny thought. He's just sold the only home he's ever known" struck me with the finality of it all. I am not surprised that Dean is the last left, after a lifetime of trying desperately to hold his family together, it has to be ironic Winchester destiny... Loved your take that the Impala was Mary's car and that she built the motor. Go sisterhood!! Flashbacks seem to be your signature and you write them brilliantly. As a possibility, your storyline scares me to death. As a fic, I was rivetted to the spot.
Author's Response: As a female motorhead myself, I always liked to think the car belonged to Mary--after all, what better way for John to be drawn to her? :) Again, thank you so much for all your comments! ~Sierra

Well, if you set out to tug on the reader's heartstrings, you've succeeded. But this story is missing a layer of logic/motivation/something. Why is Dean so desperate for $5,000 that he's selling the Impala? (BTW, $5,000 sounds like a very low figure for a 50 year old car in near-mint condition in 2017.) Why is Dean retiring from hunting before age 40? Did he promise Sam on the night that Sam died, that if he was still around after 5 years, he'd quit hunting and live the normal, apple-pie life that Sam had always wanted and was denied? Did he run into trouble on his last hunt and make a Cat Stevens-type deal with God, "If I survive this, I'll be an ordinary, good citizen from now on?" Or--?
Author's Response: Well, to me, I kind of figured he'd just reached a point in his life where he could no longer afford to keep the Impala. Not that he necessarily needs the $5,000, but he can't afford to keep on putting gas in her, and keep her maintained. In my mind, he would sell her, then buy himself some little $500 Cavalier. And yes, if I found a car like for that much money, I'd be thrilled. But, amazingly, it does happen! I saw a listing recently, for a 1967 Impala, fully-restored, for $5,800. Granted, the story is ten years from now... Also, I didn't mean to make it sound like he was giving up hunting. Just that he was giving up the Impala. Though your ideas about why he would give up at 40 are interesting... Anyways, thank you very much for the review! And your critiques as well, don't think I'm not taking them to heart, or that I don't appreciate them :) ~Sierra

You broke my heart, not the impala. Poor Dean truly alone.
Author's Response: As a proud owner of a classic Impala, I'd be DEVASTATED if I ever had to sell...and I still have my family and friends. Poor Dean :( I love to torture him.,.. *evil laugh* Thank you! ~Sierra

What an incredibly tragic story! What could be more depressing tha Dean Winchester alone in the world without his Baby? Well-done, although I'm still crying.
Author's Response: If you're really crying...then my job here is done! Hehe, it was definitely my intention to make people sad, I'm sick like that. Thanks for the review :) ~Sierra

O.K. So now I'm oficially depressed. This was a death fic for me - the Impala's always been my fave. But if it had to happen, you did a fantastic job of it! Beautifully writen and great flashbacks - especially the John/Mary history. Would be interested to read more of that! Well done! Now I need to crack open the booze, and drown myself in it! lol
Author's Response: Yeah, my stories tend to be the very angsty kind, ask anyone who reads my other-fandom stuff! LOL :) Very glad you enjoyed it though, it took me forever to write the first sentence, then I finished it all in like an hour...at 4:30 in the morning! Thanks so much for the review, ~Sierra
