Bayre, Such a perfect description of Dean, Sam and the brother's pure devotion to one another. Sam truly is Dean's foundation and motivation - nothing they wouldn't do for each other. It's together they live or together they will die. The writing in this chapter is so full of imagery, each syllable building upon the next. Each layer building those disturbing questions within Dean's mind about Sam. The filth of Sam's condition and surroundings, Sam's not wanting Dean to touch him- to become "unclean", the disturbing decription of Sam's bruising and Sam's denials. Those words brutally yet simplistically pace out Dean's agony. Yet we are brought back - Dean's calming "Its OK Kiddo", "It'll All Washoff" - Dean's strength and bond with Sam emanating from the words "Not a thing you can't tell me, we can't talk about, work through" ...... But always together. Great chapter! Now is Marlin's turn! hehe Carry on, Pook

Dean got Sam back. It's great to have the others working together to have Sam back.Emotional moment when Dean took care of Sam. Marlin is done, no one hurt Sam without consequence. Can't wait to see Marlin getting what he deserves. Riveting story Laura, I'm at the edge of my seat waiting for your next chapter.

"Marlin was done terrorizing, hurting. Marlin was done." Oh, what sweet words, could it really be time that Marlin gets exactly what he deserves.!! This was such a touching chapter; the relief that Dean has got Sammy back, the tender way he dealt with Sam's embarrassment at his filthy condition, the reaction to the bruising, causing the uncertainty that Marlin had planned all along and finally Sam's declaration that they either both get out or he's staying alone. All very poignant. Now what we need is a good riot and a prison break!! That would be great to get them all out. Do we get to see Dean's fight with Tim? I'm enjoying this far too much to want it to end any time soon. Thanks. Jane

OMG... finally, Dean has gotten Sammy back. I knew the bruises would make Dean think Marlin had touched Sam- part of that horror's plan. I can't wait to "see" Dean beat the crap out of him. AWESOME .......... AWESOME writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The plan with the other men - OUTSTANDING ... you have made this a story that pulls the reader constantly back , and back again. Oh boy is Marlin dead a hundred times over! Look out Dean Winchester is sooo pissed! Great chapter Laura. Tim is great and is was very interesting to get a peak into what the other prisoners are probably thinking and feeling. And a bittersweet moment between Sam and Dean...(sighs). Beautiful and very true to how the brothers feel. I can't wait to read more!

Marlin has just stepped in a big pie of crap now! should Dean beat him to death it would be a death to kind. I can't wait to see what happens next, you do a good job showing the emotional trauma, humiliation and the effect it has on the brothers.

Now Marlin is in trouble, Dean is really pissed and he has people ready to help. Great description of the room and Sam´s condition it was almost like being there. I loved Sam telling Dean that they are together to leave or die there. More please ?

I already told you how much I liked this chapter, Laura, and I don't mind telling you again! I am so loving the character of Tim and I'm so happy he agreed to help Dean with the help of some other fighters...just made me so happy! The emotion you have in this chapter is so wonderful and Sam's reaction when Dean found him was spot-on. Dean's emotions after seeing the bruises on Sam were so real and I could feel them as well. Your last line of this chapter kicks ass...Marlin definitely needs to be done! Great job!

Wow!!! Laura!! sounds as if Marlin has finally outsmarted himself........No one should ever underestimate our handsome heroes, their great love for one another, their planning, their resourcefulness, their fighting prowess..........Marlin is in so FAR over his head......glad he hasn't realized it yet!!!! Poor Dean and the suspiciously bruised baby brother....Rather than intimidating the boys the monster has only succeeded in adding fuel to the hatred that burns inside them towards HIM!!!

Hi can you just remind me what the time lapse has been since we last saw Sam? I was just wondering having just been through the trauma of witnessing the young boy's assault and murder he must be catatonic. Will we know what condition he is in... there is no way he can walk away from what he has been through. Can't wait for update...
Author's Response: Thanks for reading. This chapter happens while Sam is confined, shortly after Marlin leaves him. The next chapter is about 24 hours later, which I did put in as a time reference. Yes, you will know very clearly what condition Sam is in.

bayre, Great chapter, wonderfully portrays the difference between the Winchesters and other men: conscience, values, the understanding between right and wrong, the inability to rationalize the choosing of evil. the ending is great - giving us a glimmer of hope - Winchester style. Also, thanks for Bumbles - the 24th was my birthday and coupled with much running around when I finally got a chance to relax, your story had me laughing out loud. Great update. You really are working all the tension ropes here!!! Dean's superhuman effort not to be baited by Marlin and then his battle with himself over what the lesser evil would be; Great insights. Never thought of it, but Marlin must have started out like Dean, with someone to protect.... I guess Dean losing Sam would make him crazy dangerous too. Can't wait for option 3 - does it come with a side order of Marlin's ass in a sling?

Marlin is one freaky, evil, perverted SOB. I don't know how you managed to control Dean at the start, I am so looking forward to him eventually taking Marlin apart, maybe that's option 3. That was very cruel, making Tim into such a nice, ordinary, understanding, though very big and strong opponent in the death match. This was torture for Dean at a much more refined level.
