I was soo happy to see this update, the tension remains as high as ever. I wasn't expecting Dean to be so distraught over killing Marlin (probably because I was so looking forward to it and he so deserved it) but it was so typically Dean to put himself through the wringer. I'm pleased Sam's voice was there to reassure him, Marlin was a Demon unto himself, black smoke or not!! Your description of Sam suffering in that sweat box had my skin crawling, the agony of the cold, the sand the thirst and hunger, not to mention his poor eyes.... Dean's voice, the only thing holding it all at bay. Wonderful stuff!! Del Villar doesn't know what's headed his way, or he'd be hightailing it out of there right about now. I think Deans' just about reached the end of his tether. Please update soon, Sams' suffered enough......lol. Thanks. Jane
Author's Response: Thanks so much Jane! I think Del Villar might have taken on a bit more than he bargained for this time.

Ah, poor Dean. But Sammy voice is keeping him going. And Sam has Dean's voice in his head. So cute! They are so much a part of each other the logical parts of their brains talk in the voice of the other. Awesome job Laura! Carter's persepctive of Dean as a viper preparing to strike Del Villar is great and I can't help but to agree. Never, ever, cross a pissed Dean Winchester especially about his baby brother! Can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks so much Tamara!

As a tried and true Dean girl, I love this story. As with all your stories, you seem to realize that you cannot have a good Dean story without Sam. Sam defines him as much as Dean defines Sam. My favorite Hunter would be so much less without the love and compassion Sam brings into his life. I think old papa Winchester would have ground that out long ago, and while that might have made Dean a much scarier, deadly hunter, I don't think he would be as good a one. You seem to capture the sibling relationship so well in all your stories that either you have a few, or your imagination is fantastic. Either way, I look forward to seeing any of your stories come up, because I know I'm in for a treat...a great tale, with characters true enough to seem alive and with story lines sure to catch my imagination. Long live the Winchester Boys, and thanks for sharing your playground with them with us!
Author's Response: The boys wouldn't be the boys without each other, that's for sure. Knowing you look forward to my stories is such a thrill, and inspiration. I do have half-siblings, but never really lived with them, don't know them...so I guess it's my imagination that gets the credit. Thanks so much for reading and the great reviews.

OMG... did Del Villars really think a foul , disgusting poor excuse of a humaniod like Marlin could beat Dean????????? No one hurts Dean's brother...what part of that didn't anyone understand!!!!AWESOME writing!!!!!! OUTSTANDING visual verbage-excellent timing and tempo-the suspense has crested again- GREAT job!!!!!!!!!! Now, I can't wait to "see" Dean take Del Villers down-and I hope it's painful. He needs to suffer just like he has made Sammy suffer. I loved the line from Sam-...he had a shield fightning for him..-that totally sums up the Winchester way. MORE please ....soon??????? BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: Thanks again for all your great comments. Del Villar is a bit of a smug A&%...hehehee More coming soon. Thanks....Laura

I love, love, love, LOVE this story! It's an incredibly original & unique story. It's incredibly well written & very twisted (in a good way). This story had great twists that kept me hooked & intrigued - definitely interested in where each paragraph & chapter was leading. Great rapport and natural brotherly chemisty written (when they are getting along & fighting). I absolutely can't wait to see what happens from here.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your very kind review and for reading.

Dean’s words no one hurt his brother, they weren’t just words, it was the code the man lived by. liked this phrase, it's so true. Nice work on these two last chappies, waiting to see what's gonna happen next...

Those last couple of lines are so perfect. "The viper was about to strike. Dean Winchester didn't know how to lose." That is exactly right. I enjoyed it when I was beta'ing some of it for you and I certainly enjoy the finished product. Great update!
Author's Response: Thanks for all your help Vanessa! And thanks for reading.

Oh Jeez, I hope you're right. What an intense chapter, and yeah Dean does NOT know how to lose. You really concentrated on the emotion in this one, laying the path for the big final confrontation and it's sure worked with me. I couldn't believe it when the chapter came to an end...but you've left me desperate for the next one so great work...
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it, felt the emotions. That makes me happy. Laura

Laura. Loved the Sam flirting with the guard to escape so funny and the "he shoots, he scores, the crowd goes wild" markers were inspirational! And now is Marlin fianlly going to get his comeuppance? God I hope so! bev x

gee Laura! Marlin is a real bad man and he should be worried now 'cause Dean is pissed! Sam is sweet in this trying to be so brave for Dean when really he's rightfully terrified. Compelling and draining! Bev xx

Holy...! Wow, what a fight! And Dean took down Marlin, whoohoo! Left him alive for the rest of the prisoners to watch and taunt him as he dies...just deserts as far as I'm concerned. Loved Sam at the beginning and how he is the man is he is thanks to his big brother. Beautiful! This is great Laura and I can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks so much Tamara.

Whoa..... yeah just that. Yes I admit to the same blood lust for Marlin as expressed previously, but the cold commanding execution style comments from Dean was truly chilling. Do what you want with him... you have twenty minutes and the worst; “And burn his body when he’s done.” A cynical laugh and a shrug. “Or get a head start and do it now, I don’t care. Just make sure he burns.” This seems to suggest that Dean is taking care of Marlin, like he would a Supernatural threat - ensuring his evil would never return again. Amazing work Bayre. Also liked the juxtaposition (I think that is the appropriate BIG word) of Sam's mental battle and Dean's physical one. Also noticed the similarities between Sam's tortured imagination wondering what was happening to his brother, and Dean's hell earlier on when he wondered to what extent Marlin had abused his brother - very well plotted. But words... BIG or otherwise won't cover how much I admired this line from Sam; "Everything good in him came from Dean, learned from Dean, everything he needed nurtured by his brother from before Sam could remember. He’d spent his life with his personal hero, watching him, emulating him, living up to the man that was Dean Winchester." That is possibly one of my favorites in the whole story, that is saying a lot as you are that skilled a writer, I spend most of my reviews quoting your work and finding ways to explain to you how impressive your work is!!!!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much...always so appreciated and valued.

OMG... I think I just feel off my chair!!!! Could this be IT?!!! The moment where Dean addresses that serious issue Marlin has ... you know the one... walking, talking, breathing!!!!!! I can't believe it's here - this by the way, this is the direct result of how amped up the tension is in your story!!!!! Loved the humor moment amidst all the terror, desperation and self sacrificing!!!! Sam playing up to the guards and using his coy skills on the other team!!! LOL!!! The fact that he is NEVER going to share this with Dean, had me howling... especially considering all they have shared or feared for each other, and THIS is where Sam draws the line?!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said LMAO!!! Lastly, and as usual your writing skills spilled out all over this chapter, many winning lines, but HAD to pull out Sam's; "No matter what he had to do to ensure he and Dean walked out of here, he’d do it, and survive out of nothing more than plain spite. He could fight for Dean just as stubbornly as Dean fought for him. Dean would surely kick his ass for this, but too bad. Sam wasn’t losing his brother." You have excelled in this chapter, proving you are ... well Darthwriter (ok Dork overload, but I am too impatient to move to the next chapter to put on the polish!!!!)
Author's Response: Heehehee....hey Sam has to draw the line somewhere! As always you're far to kind in your reviews, and thank you so much. I always so very much appreciate them. Laura
