I just watched this episode again today. That last scene is so sad and touching. I remember that I was little worried at the beginning of the season two, especially as Dean was totally messed up. But luckily they managed to survive quite well... They're Winchesters after all.

This's well written, this would have been in the episode. The last sentence reminds me of Dean's deal at the end of the season. Nicely done!

This scene made me cry when I watched it on TV and your expansion of it broke my heart all over again.

For me it's that line 'So tell me Sam.......What could you possible say to make that alright?', awh here come the tears now as I type! Hell gonna fry myself with my laptop if I'm not careful!

Maybe your line 'I'm going to always be here, Dean. Whatever you need...I'll be here' begins to make it alright?

Yeah, that scene always kills me too and I am a big baby every time I watch it. It's amazing how a show about monsters can drive you to tears so much, isn't it? lol

And don't fry yourself...I can't afford to pay the lawsuit that would come against me! And hopefully that line will make it better...I hope!

“It itches,” Sam said quietly.

I really can't explain it, but there is somthing about that line - I can even hear that quiet, reflective, slightly put-out tone that he would have used. I just fell in love with that line, and even after I have read this a dozen times, I still come back to that line.
