LOL Yes I think I am enjoying this fanfic stuff a little too much lol I just keep finding stories (good and bad ones) and is great! The link you sent me works fine, I had no problem with it, I'm going to read it! Thanks!!

On the Bobby subject, yeah, I understand what you're saying, and after all, even if Bobby had stick around, he wouldn't be able to prevent the deal from happening, I mean, who could ever stop Dean from doing what he feels he has to do??

Author's Response:

Hope you enjoyed Kristen's story. She's got another one in her collection that's a firm favourite of mine - and there is one particular scene which never fails to make me chuckle madly at the vivid and hilarious image she paints with her words.

It's called Frostbite - here's the link: http://www.supernaturalville.net/viewstory.php?sid=1031

I won't spoil you any more about the story, but I hope that you like that one as well.

And yes, you're right - who could ever persuade Dean not to do anything....unless it was Sam, and he wasn't around to tell Dean what a bad idea selling his soul was. But then we'd have lost Sammy forever...*sigh*...don't those boys just break your heart?

Hi there!I am loving your "missing scenes"! Dean's thoughts, memories, attitude, everything so accurate. I am so glad you describe Dean's tormented thoughts After the devil's deal, because, after all, he is a hunter and he knew what was coming for him and his brother, the doubt, the guilt, the pain. Also, I love that you pay attention to the little details!! for example, when Sam sees Dean and looks relieved, and that leads Dean to question if Sammy thought he would never see Dean again...Why did Dean made the deal? I think you depicted this very well with your killer line "This was the child he'd raised; the teenager he'd fought with, the man he'd fought beside".

(now, regarding the episode itself.., something will forever bother me, why did Bobby left Dean alone?? I would never understand that!!, I know that maybe the writers decided that it was for the sake of the story or whatever, but Arghhhh it just bothers me!! lol )

Anyways, great story!

Author's Response:

Hi there back! My goodness, you are hoovering up all the little one-shots, aren't you? LOL.

Thank you, Paloma. I'm glad you love this missing scene. It just bugged me - and my co-author - what Dean did during that time between Sam dying and coming back to life. So we filled in the blanks to satisfy that little itch.

Another awesome story that covers this time period, is Rage Against The Storm, by Catchme21 - it's on this site, actually. Here's the link - not sure if it will work, I'm a bit technologically challenged, but here goes: http://www.supernaturalville.net/viewstory.php?sid=564

But you can find it by clicking on Authors, then selecting C, and finding catchme21 in the list. Kristen has some great stories in her list. She's well worth a read.

Details - lol. Had to chuckle at that. The only other time I co-authored with someone was with my very good friend Cookie6 on Here At The End Of All Things - our monster work. And I sort of drove her crazy with my attention to detail - "No, we can't use that information because it's from an episode after we deviated from canon." lol.

As for Bobby leaving....I know the writers did it for the sake of the dramatic storyline, but were this world real, I'd like to think that Bobby realised that he just wasn't going to get through to Dean at that time. I don't think Bobby was abandoning Dean to his fate or anything like that. I just think that Bobby could see just how close to the edge Dean was in regard to unreasonable behaviour, and rather than risk pushing Dean too hard and having the boy turn away from him completely, he left, very reluctantly, and probably prayed that when Dean had time to absorb the shock of Sam's death, he would come to Bobby for help.

Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, thank you very much once again, and I'm thrilled that you loved this one.

Take care,

Jules

my eyes were so filled with tears i couldn't see what i was reading... *sobs* this line is what started it all: "Sammy? I fixed it. Sammy? Sammy... please..." I couldn't hold it back... soo heartbreaking!! *sobs harder* Dean's unfailing love for his little brother... His willingness to sacrifice his own life for Sammy... You really captured the emotions and grief perfectly...

Author's Response:

Awww.....

Thanks again, Jewelyah. *hands over cyber-tissues*...

My co-author and I worked on this separately, since she was writing the two flashbacks and they just had to be inserted into the main part of the story. I'd left the gaps where they were to go, and Lorrie and I had discussed in a broad outline what sort of flashbacks I wanted, then I just sent what I had and left the rest up to her.

I got an email from her a few nights later, saying that she was in tears, so I sort of had a feeling I was on the right track with the angst - lol.

Thanks so much - I'm really chuffed that you got so much from the story. That whole period between Sam dying and Dean making the deal really intrigued me - sort of like an itch that I just had to scratch. I knew it had to be at least twenty-four hours, and my mind just wandered off on the tangent of what actually happened after Bobby left - how did Dean fill in the time between daylight and nightfall?

And from what we saw on screen, I figured that he would have been talking to his dead brother pretty much the whole time, when he wasn't drinking.

Thanks again for coming on this journey.

this better then what they presented thank you for the love. love you kid.

Author's Response:

Ah, I don't know about that - Jensen and Jared really rocked those scenes. They gave us the inspiration to write this.

But I'm thrilled and touched that you think so.

Kid? LOL! You'd be surprised - I could be old enough to be your auntie....48 is looming on my horizon this year - lol.

i love it jules and if there is a way that you can send this to me id so much thank you for it that i leave my email ivonne_sammmmy69@yahoo.com

love it how dean is speaking to sam and he feel that sam is ignoring him. i like it thanks.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Ivonne,

I'm glad you loved Dean's conversation with his dead brother, and his brother's spirit. We paced out the episodes, and figured it had to be around twenty-four hours that Dean had been alone with Sam's body, as it was night when Sam was killed, then daylight when Bobby came back with the food and he and Dean had that argument, followed by Bobby leaving. So we just let our imaginations plot out that missing day, and this is what we came up with.

So glad that you enjoyed it.

Wow... I haven't been to ungen in a while school has me ridiculously busy but now that i see this i am so glad i decided to check the website today! It still amazes me the talent that is on this site And this story has just been added to my greatest hits.

For me SPN has always been about the brotehrly love and a bond that transcends everything, and is so strong it defeats the greatest evil. This story is reminding me of that what i started to watch the show for...

Thanks!

Author's Response:

Hi, Mandie,

Hope school is going well.

I'm with you - for me the bond between the brothers is what keeps me watching. And this episode - well, the two episodes, showcases how much the brothers mean to each other. Sam's utter relief when he finally hears Dean's voice, so much so that he turns his back on an enemy in order to get to his brother. And Dean, brushing the hair from his dying baby brother's eyes and shattering to pieces with Sam's death.

It was a hard episode to watch, and a bit of a hard story to write given the depth of emotion. But the journey was worth it, and we're thrilled at the response.

Thanks so much for reading.

An incredible write.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Ness, from the bottom of our hearts.

When we put this together, we were hoping for a reaction, but the sheer depth of it was overwhelming. But we really wanted to tap into that hopeless grief of Dean's spiralling down into his decision to throw everything away in order to regain his brother, so it was a bit of a rough journey for the authors, too, in a way.

But worth it - so worth it.

Thank you again,

Jules

I cried.  It never fails when it comes to this episode, I cry.  This, as expected, was amazingly emotional.

Author's Response:

It was such a shock, wasn't it? I choke up too, whenever I watch that end scene. I even get teary over the screencaps.

Thanks so much, Ness. I'm really thrilled that you read this again, and happy that the flashbacks are finally where they belong. It took a while.

I love missing scenes stories, especially this one. I ached for Dean when he took care of Sam like he was still alive. Dean's emotional state while talking to his little brother, broke my heart literally. From hug to hug and between, it was an amazing read. Thank you Jules and Charmed, your work in this story blew me away.

Author's Response:

Hey, hun,

This was an emotional one to write, especially going back over the episode and watching those gut-wrenching scenes. And just extrapolating the rest from what we saw was a very sad journey for me, actually. I think I even had tears in my eyes during one scene...

Thanks so much, hun, for reading and reviewing this one again.

Completely teary now:(  Great glimpse at that horrible time for Dean.  The flashbacks just made it all the more sad!  Nice touch!

Author's Response:

Hey...*hands over tissues*....sorry about that. I had my co-author in tears, too, when she read the first draft.

And yes, the story just was never complete without the flashbacks. They added so much poignancy to the final version.

I think we saw Dean absolutely shatter that night. And wondering what he did during that twenty-four hours after Sam died was an itch that I just had to scratch.

Thanks so much for reading and letting me know what you thought. Being an older story, I wasn't expecting any reviews at all, so this was a real bonus.

This is brilliant! Great work both of you, you made me re-live AHBL part 2 all over again.

Author's Response:

Hey, hun!

Thanks so much for that. I've actually lost touch with Lorrie now - people move on - but it always bugged me that the story wasn't complete over here. So I was pretty chuffed when I found her name in the members' list. It meant I could finally showcase her wonderful contribution to this tag.

Thanks again, Pink - so glad you enjoyed it, even though it's an older story.

Jules and charmed1 0f2

I loved this the first time I read it, when I hunted it down on the other site, and It still made me cry this time. thankyou so much for posting the whole thing here. I'm of to read the rest of charmed1 of 2 work.

Deb

Author's Response:

Awww, thanks, Deb. Yes, there was always a bit missing - well, two bits actually. So it was good to put the missing parts back where they belonged.

Aw, we made you cry again? *hands tissues over*....they're the really good Kleenex ones, too, with eucalyptus. Nice and soft.

I'm glad too, that the story is now complete. It could stand by itself and not be too choppy, but it saddened me that the flashbacks weren't in there. She did such an awesome job with them, they just completed the tag perfectly.

Jules and your co-author

Congratulations on a beautifully written piece. The real time and flashback passages compliment each other nicely, allowing the reader to fully comprehend the depth of Dean's loss and desperation at his 'failure'.

Dean's soliloque makes for a very moving scene in the show and this expansion of the time frame around that event is very well crafted. It touched me and the images of Jensen's particularly sensitively acted lines filled my head once more.

Thanks for sharing

bev x

Author's Response:

Hey, Bev,

Thank you so much.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean about Jensen's acting. I think my heart almost stopped at the same time Sam's did, and then that gut-wrenching scream.....it's a hard episode to watch, even knowing Sam comes back to life.

One of my friends is a dyed-in-the-wool Dean girl, and she stopped dead in her tracks when Sam was stabbed, a look of such shock and horror on her face. I caught a little whispered, "Oh my God...Sammy..." just as the camera pulled back to that devastating aerial shot of Dean rocking his dead brother.....

Aw, damn it...*reaches for tissues*.....

Thanks again, Bev, I'm chuffed that you enjoyed it so much.

hugs

Yowza!

What an emotional ride. You strapped me into the cart and I wasn't allowed out until the ride came to a complete stop. Think I left my heart back at the first big drop.

Excellent. I bet you were drained after writing this piece!

Thank you again so much!
Karen

Author's Response:

LOL - oh, goodness me. That was one hell of a ride, eh?

And yes, I was drained, actually. My co-author, who isn't a member of this site, wrote two lovely flashbacks for me, and while she was working on the first one, I wrote the first section leading up to her flashback, and emailed it off to her.

She emailed back, telling me I had her in tears, so I thought I must have been on the right track - lol.

I'll email you the complete story - the part posted here is only the bits I wrote. Lorrie's flashbacks make it really special.

Thank you so much, Karen.

OMG...now who's gonna wipe my tears away! AHBL's are my most favorite episodes ever. I like it with all my heart. Sam's death and Dean's grieve always make my heart ache. Awesome Job once again.

You know what there is an youtube video, name I used to live alone...and it's amazingly coincide with this story. If you want I will mail you that song. Even the first quote is also there from HOTH. It's beautiful like your story.

Another awesome piece,

Ritu.

Author's Response:

They were pretty awesome episodes, weren't they? That little parental gesture of Dean's when he swipes the hair from Sam's eyes always gets to me.

But the curious cat in me wanted to know what he did during that twenty-four hours that Sam was gone, so I got together with a friend from SN.tv and we wrote it. Unfortunately, she's not a member of this site so her two beautiful flashbacks are not part of this - only my bits. I'll email you the full version.

And yes, I'd love that Youtube link if you can find it for me. That would be awesome.

Thanks, hun.

Thank you. When I emailed the first part to my co-author over on SN.tv, she messaged me back to say she was in tears. So I sort of figured I had gotten it right when she told me that - lol.

Author's Response: Thank you. I had at first thought I'd missed the boat on this one, as lots of writers had done AHBL missing scenes before we put this one together. I'm glad to see that we could still impact people - it was a truly heartbreaking scene, and the boys' acting was awesome.....Jules

Made my eyes water, good job writing this.

Author's Response: Thank you. There was just so much raw emotion attached to that episode. I was inspired by that promo shot of Dean looking at Sam's body as he stood in the doorway, and I wondered just what would be going through his mind during that 24 hours that Sam was dead...Jules

i've just read it.. and it's awesome.. so touching.. i could feel what dean felt.. cause it is the same feeling and the same thoughts when i held my 4y.o son when he's dead.

well, it's beautiful... (lost for words)

Author's Response:

Hon, you have my deepest sympathy. I lost a child very early in my pregnancy, so I can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I also lost my man ten years ago, so I drew on that emotion, and of course, Jensen's mind-blowing performance in the episode.

Thank you so much for reading, and I'm glad it touched you. I hope it wasn't too painful, bringing all those emotions back...Jules
