I loved this story. Loved the house and the fortress, Dan finally feeling safe, Sam realising he's never not felt safe. I really loved the cat (brilliant name by the way). I truely think that animals can work wonders with people. Brilliant story. Thanks for not letting Dean die.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I believe animals are healing as well. And I love this setting as I have said before. I am working on a sequel now, sending the boys back to Bryn. And never worry--I won't kill them, even if it looks very very very grim!

I really liked the character of Bryn.  She seemed like she would be a good match for Dean.

I really enjoyed this story, very well done

  Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I love this story and the character of Bryn. I am thinking of bringing her and the stupid cat back sometime soon!

Great story. It was really touch-and-go there for Dean for a while.

Bryn is a lovely, warm, intriguing character - will we see more of her, Pyewacket (great name) and her secrets??

I loved the setting, so nice to see Dean feeling safe for once, so sad for him to see it as a safe place to die.

Thank you for a very enjoyable read, once I'd started - I couldn't stop.  So much for the early night!! This was much more fun!! J.

Author's Response: Oh thank you so much (and sorry I was a little slow on the reply) yes we will see more of Bryn and Pyewacket, I am just planning how that will go. I just love her and the way she interacts with the boys. I am actually considering revisiting this story, from the original incident (Dean getting wounded) from Sam's POV.

This was fantastic. I read it as I validated and only just now got time to let you know how much I enjoyed it. Bryn was fascinating -- and it was a nice h/c fix -- just the right amount.

I think my favorite part, though, was Sam realizing that he's never felt not safe. Because of Dean. I mean, sure... more pressure on big bro, but I can so see that being the case.

Thanks so much for writing and contributing your talent to this site.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review! The idea for the story grew from a question someone asked me: "What would make Dean feel safe and would it be the same for Sam?" Thank you again! I look forward to contributing again.

Very good ending!  It's refreshing to have an ending that isn't steeped in mystery.

Author's Response: Thank you  so much! I am a fan of the episode style ending, hitting the road together again!

Not quite out of the woods yet, huh? Great work!

Really hope I didn't miss a death fic warning somewhere! Excellent chapter, SO GLAD this story is finished, because I certainly couldn't withstand a wait at this point! You know where I'm headed now....

Author's Response: Thank you! And never worry, I wouldn't write death fic!

I think I really like Pyewacket too - how can you not like a creature called Pyewacket? And just as well, because this was actually a very distressing chapter. I'm not good with Dean/Sam goodbyes, and Dean planning for it undoes me a little bit. Which is a compliment to your writing of course!

Author's Response: What a lovely compliment! And I am so glad you like Pyewacket. His relationship with Dean  was one of the big surprises for me as I wrote this!

hee, I was right about the angst! I love the idea of Bryn's garden as a safe place for them ...but not as somewhere to say goodbye! Nooooo! So glad this story is complete, heading straight on...

Reviewer: ciel4 (Signed) · Date: 02/09/07 07:45 PM · On: Chapter 1

Great start, I foresee angst ahead. And I really like Bryn already. Well done!

I really love this.

Where did you get your research on the plants etc?

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed this.  A lot of the plant info--and magical weapons-- came from Pollington's Leechcraft, some of the rest from The Lost Gods of England and Greive's A Modern Herbal.  There are some other wonderful books.  Witchcraft Medicine, The Herbalist and others.

Completely intrigued and regretting the promise I made to stop reading now and go be a Labor Day traditonalist.....

Author's Response: Thank you so much! And what a compliment!

Awesome story- I read it all in one sitting! Liked Dean with the cat- somewhat untypical but it felt very right and in character.

Nice amount of angst without having weepySam.

 Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I am still not quite how Dean and Pyewacket ended up together, but I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Great chapter, I love this!

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 02/09/07 07:53 AM · On: Chapter 5

Oh no, after all that the wound is still there?!  Those poor boys!  Lovely emotions!  I'm right there with Dean---I wasn't expecting Sam thought he was killing his brother.  Wow!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! The moment when Sam admitted that caught me a little by surprise, too! I am so glad you liked it!

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 02/09/07 07:41 AM · On: Chapter 4

An amazing chapter!  I love how they skirt the heart of their chick-flick moments in typical Winchester fashion, yet still manage to express their thoughts and emotions!  this was extremely well-written and very dramatic!  Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!
