I really enjoy writing past and present together 'cause it means I get to tease for awhile longer - the problem with this story is keeping present day Dean's thoughts in check so he doesn't ruin the big punchline >:) And I really love writing the dialogue, I find it a lot easier to write 'cause I can be really bad at describing things (I still need to broaden my vocabularly). I like that John is able to treat Dean like a son in this, not just a hunter. Dean's comments about Halloway add real value to him, make me want to read faster to find out what's going on with him!
Author's Response: I like fatherly John... I'm a sucker for it. I mean, I like the hunter but I like to think of him being a father at least some of the time. And Dean has a really good reason to hate the guy - more answers coming soonish hopefully.

Surprisingly I should have a bit of free time this week - but unfortunately I'm gonna have to resort to the old 'ped and pad' methods during my free hours, grr, lol. So hopefully I can get a few updates by the end of the week. As for Death Markers, lol - it's just so damn long... but the next chapter is meant to be the last one, with an Epilogue to cover the remaining holes :D (On the bright side, the chapters aren't super long >:))

I like the past interspersed with the present. It flows well & isn't confusing. Well written. You seem to really have the characters down – including past John, he came across as what I would have imagined. You've got the rapport between the brothers down perfectly. Solid, clear writing, that really creates a picture. You've got me hooked. Great backstory – you've really reeled me in & I can't wait to see where this leads!

And as for the characters, it's always great to get compliments like that when working with someone else's characters - I have a kind of image of past John in my head, I like him being the hunter that we know him to be... but I also like seeing the father we got a glimpse of, caring and protective.
